I Became a Mother of a Sub-Male Son

CHAPTER 066

“Nice to meet you. Master Delian Nathan, I am Allegro Bian, the owner of the Magic Tower.”

“Nice to meet you too.”

“I will be staying at the mansion for a while while the Duke is away. So please do not feel burdened and make me feel at ease.”

“Then can I call you Magic Tower Lord?”

“Please call me whatever you prefer.”

“Yes. Like that.”

Surprisingly, the child seemed to have a crush on Allegro. She thought it was because he was surprised to hear that he was the Lord of the Magic Tower. It’s true that wizards themselves were precious, and it’s even harder to find a Magic Tower lord than picking a star in the sky.

“By the way, isn’t it too late for introductions and greetings? Lian?”

“I was so hungry that I was rude. I’m sorry.”

Allegro smiled at her words with an expression on his face that did not make him feel sorry at all. Anyway, he was a human with several layers of iron plates on his face.

She clicked her tongue inwardly and gently comforted the child who was still shocked.

“Now, stop looking at that person and eat this.”

A beef roll filled with vegetables was placed in the child’s slightly open mouth. The child did not take his eyes off Allegro while chewing his food. Allegro looked at the child with a smiling expression, as if he was enjoying the gaze.

“Lian, didn’t you say you were hungry? Please eat.”

“You really look a lot like the Duke.”

Allegro ignored her words and spoke to the child.

“That’s right. I look just like my father.”

“I’ve heard a lot from the Duke. He said you started learning swordsmanship some time ago. Is that correct?”

“I haven’t really learned much yet.”

“There is no one in the empire who is better at swordsmanship than the Duke, so you will definitely see good results.”

“Yes, I hope so too.”

The child answered with a slightly sullen expression. She felt like the conversation was flowing rather smoothly, so she just listened quietly, but he didn’t seem to be able to do it.

“Mr. Lian.”

“Why are you doing this, my lady?”

“The Duke is just the Duke, and Delian is just Delian.”

“What?”

“It means that the subject is different. Just because a parent is particularly good at something, there is no way that the child will also be good at it. Even if the child is good at something, it is because the child is good at it. It is not because of the parents.”

‘So don’t burden the child, you human.’

She quietly glared at the man across from her. Then Allegro smiled, curling his eyes.

“I guess I was a little short-thinking. I didn’t mean to burden you, Master. I apologize.”

“Uh, no. It’s okay.”

The child shook his head. Just like before, Allegro didn’t look sorry at all.

‘Well, I guess it’s good that he at least acknowledged what he said.’

“By the way, how have you been, Lady?”

“Yes. I was doing well.”

“The offer I made to you earlier is still valid. Do you have any thoughts?”

She glanced at the child for a moment. Why was he talking about that here?

“Yes. None.”

“Wow, there’s not a single hesitation.”

“Where are you going to be staying for the next few days?”

“The Duke gave me a nice room in the main building. He said it’s on the same floor as the master and the lady’s room.”

She thought she knew why the Duke had given Allegro a room on the same floor as them. It must be in the name of protecting her and the child closely.

“I see.”

“Please be kind to me while you are staying at the mansion. You too, Master.”

Allegro said that and looked at the child.

“Yes. Like that.”

The child nodded and handed her some pasta rolled up on a fork.

“Elia, try this.”

“Huh.”

When she opened her mouth to take it, the child laughed softly.

“It’s delicious, right?”

“Yes. It’s delicious.”

She smiled at the child and secretly hoped that she would never run into the man across from her in the mansion.

* * *

She swung the whip in her hand and caught the central part of the wooden pole, the target in front of her. Although it was still clumsy, it didn’t seem like there was any success since it was wrapped up quite tightly. The hard training she had done has been rewarding.

“Miriel, how am I?”

“It’s still a bit clumsy, but it seems like it’s showing some form.”

It was a harsh evaluation, but she knew it meant it wasn’t all that bad. She loosened the whip with some satisfaction. These days, she felt like her physical strength had definitely improved compared to before, perhaps because she had been doing basic physical training in her spare time due to weapons training. After all, if you work hard, you will see some results.

It was the moment when she was about to crack the whip again.

“Oh!”

She turned her head when she heard a child’s surprised voice coming from the other side.

‘What’s going on?’

The child was a child, but Sylvester, who was standing in front of him, also looked unusual. What were they so surprised about? What?

“Miriel. What is that…?”

“Let’s go closer and check it out.”

Myriel and she approached the child with urgent steps. The child had started training with his wooden sword last time. A blue light was shining over the wooden sword that the child was holding. She asked Sylvester, who was still blankly looking at the wooden sword the child was holding.

“Sylvester, what on earth is that?”

“Sylvester?”

She called once more and Sylvester finally came to his senses. He groaned slightly.

“I think it’s going to be a pain in the ass later.”

“What a headache. What is that?”

“That’s sword energy.”

The answer came from Miriel, who was standing next to him.

“Sword energy?”

“Yes, it is.”

At that time, Sylvester approached the child.

“Young master.”

“M-Master, I didn’t do anything, but something like this suddenly appeared. What is this?”

“Congratulations.”

“…Master?”

“It seems that you can now use the same sword techniques as the Duke.”

“…Gasp! Like father? So I can become a sword master like father?”

“I can’t guarantee that, but the only people in the current empire who can use sword techniques are the Duke and the young master.”

After hearing those words, a memory began to bloom in the back of her mind. The reason the Duke had excellent swordsmanship was because he was a ‘sword master’ who could use sword techniques. So, he’s saying that what only the Duke could use could now be used by the child?

“…Miriel, this is something to be happy about, right?”

Miriel stared at her in silence for a moment. It was definitely something to be happy about that the child was able to use sword techniques. It was something worth doing, but at the same time, she felt anxious. In the book, there is no mention of Delian being able to use the same sword skills as the Duke. That also meant that she had absolutely no knowledge of anything related to it. What if others found out that Delian was able to use sword skills like the Duke? If the emperor found out about this, he could use the child later, and among nobles, the child was likely to be in danger because of the Marquis, next to the Duke. One of the reasons why the duke participated every time a war broke out was because he was a ‘sword master.’

She was worried that if the child inherited his position later, he would end up in the same situation. That kind of inheritance was never good.

Miriel looked away from her and went over to Sylvester and she said.

“Captain, I think it would be best to report to the Duke as soon as possible through the video sphere.”

“I still think so, Miriel, so you can go and contact me first.”

“I understand. Lady, I’m sorry, but today’s training will be suspended for a while.”

“Yes, it’s okay. Come back quickly.”

Miriel lowered her head and went straight out of her section.

She approached the confused child.

“Lian, are you very surprised?”

“Elia, I still can’t believe it. I can use sword techniques like my father…”

“How do you feel?”

“I just couldn’t believe it and was shocked…”

“Do you still feel good?”

There was joy on the child’s face that could not be hidden.

“…Yes. Actually, it’s great. It means I can become strong like my father.”

“There’s nothing to stress about. Regardless of whether you’re strong or weak, I like you on your own.”

She smiled shyly, as if she was happy for the child who was quietly looking up at her.

“…Hmm, sorry for interrupting this intimate conversation, but I have something to tell you, Master.”

Sylvester’s voice was heard along with a cough. He had an unusually serious expression.

“What is it, Master?”

“I hope you can hide the fact that you know how to use sword techniques as much as possible. Of course, I plan to thoroughly crack down on all those who witnessed it.”

“Because of possible danger?”

Even though no comment was made, the child seemed to be aware of it to some extent.

“As I said, other than the Duke and you, there is currently no one in the empire who can use sword techniques. The more people who find out about this, the more dangerous it becomes, you.”

“Yes. I know what you mean.”

The child nodded his head with a serious expression.

“Starting tomorrow, we will significantly increase the intensity of our training. Do you mind if we continue all afternoon?”

“Yes, I’m okay.”

“Good. Then, let’s rest for today and start training in earnest tomorrow.”

“Alright.”

The child nodded and held her hand.

“We’re just going to the room.”

“Yes.”

She looked at Sylvester for a moment and then turned around. Richard, Jade, and the other guards all stood calmly, but they all looked surprised. As she was leaving the training hall and returning to her room, she ran into Allegro coming from the opposite direction.

“Are you both on your way from the training room?”

“Yes.”

He looked at the child who nodded and answered and then said.

“How do you know that?”

“That’s because I asked the servant.”

She didn’t believe that answer straight away. He probably didn’t spy on them using magic or something, right?

She glanced at him suspiciously and said.

“Anyway, we’re on our way back to our room. Where are you going, Bian?”

“I’m going to go out for a short walk in the garden. I’m also thinking of taking a look around the outskirts.

“Oh, is that so? Then we’ll just leave.”

“See you later, Mage Tower Lord.”

She walked along with the child who gently waved his hand at Allegro.

“Can you make some time this evening?”

She stopped walking for a moment when she heard a voice from behind.

“You mean me?”

“Yes. After dinner, I would like to have tea with you for a while. How do you feel?”

Allegro had an unexpected smile on his face. What kind of plan was this? She thought for a moment and then answered.

“Okay. I’ll make time.”

“Then I’ll see you in the evening.”

Allegro looked satisfied and then turned around and disappeared. At that time, the child asked.

“Does the Tower Lord have something to say to Elia?”

“Well, I’m not sure yet. I guess we’ll have to talk about it later to find out. Anyway, let’s go.”

“Yes.”

She headed back to the room while holding the child’s hand.
