Chapter 94
Jacob appeared more nervous than usual.
He went straight into the cafe and took a seat.
Luckily, from the bushes they were hiding in, Elena and Jane had a good view of the cafe.
Jacob took the glass of water on the table and took a sip.
Just watching him made them a bit nervous.
“Ha. I’m quite nervous.”
Jane whispered.
Elena looked at her friend and nodded.
“Me too.”
However, unlike them, Jacob was a nervous wreck.
He drank water all the time, and he couldn’t keep his hands still.
In addition, he would repeatedly look out of the window and then check the inside of the cafe.
“What if Roen doesn’t come?”
Elena anxiously asked.
Instead of answering, Jane held her hand.
There was a reason Elena was feeling restless.
Because soon, the appointment time had arrived.
‘Roen…’
Elena was biting her lip anxiously when, at the end of the alley, she saw Roen.
“Huh.”
Elena was so happy at her appearance that she almost screamed without realizing it.
But she quickly covered her mouth and barely endured it.
“Elena, is that Roen?”
Jane asked after seeing Elena’s reaction.
Elena nodded enthusiastically.
Then Jane’s face was dyed with joy.
The two held each other’s hands and stared at Roen.
Roen appeared to be more nervous than Jacob.
Jacob didn’t know who he would be meeting with, but Roen did.
Hence, her reaction was natural.
After the momentary joy of seeing her arrival, tension once again flooded Elena.
Eventually, Roen arrived in front of the cafe.
But she didn’t walk in.
She was just hovering at the door.
Meanwhile, Jacob, who was in the middle of drinking water, turned to Roen’s direction.
His eyes widened in disbelief.
And finally, Roen – finding courage – opened the door of the cafe.
“What should we do…”
Jane muttered, biting her lip uneasily, while Elena looked at the inside of the cafe without saying a word.
Roen carefully entered the cafe with trembling hands.
At the same instant, she and Jacob, their eyes met.
From the moment he found out that Roen was the one who had come, Jacob had stiffened.
But as Roen drew closer, he came to his senses.
Jacob hurriedly got up from his seat.
His face flushed with joy as he opened his mouth.
She couldn’t hear their conversation, but they were similar to those people who hadn’t met in a very long time.
The two greeted each other and sat down.
Roen and Jacob sat facing each other, but they couldn’t see the pair’s faces properly.
Their postures were rigid and no words were exchanged.
‘Is it because they haven’t seen each other in a long time?’
Elena’s shoulders sagged slightly.
At that time, Jacob, the first to regain his pluck, spoke to Roen.
Simultaneously, Roen also relaxed a bit and continued the conversation.
“Elena, don’t worry too much. It will be fine since the two of them already met.”
Jane rolled her eyes and said.
Elena smiled after her and nodded lightly.
And, as Jane said, Jacob and Roen made progress.
Jacob held Roen’s hand, and a tear fell.
Then tears also flowed down Roen’s face.
She also took Jacob’s hand cautiously.
As they held each other’s hands, a smile was drawn on their lips as they wept.
“Jane.”
Looking at the two of them, Elena opened her mouth.
“As Jane said, it’s a happy ending.”
For Elena and Jane, and the reunited lovers.
It was a happy ending for everyone.
*****
Three days have passed since then.
Elena has helped Jeremy with his business.
She didn’t have much to study anyway, so she went with Jeremy.
“Hoam.”
Elena yawned and stretched out.
She was quite tired because she had worked hard for the past three days.
Thankfully, the urgent matter had been resolved and they could now have tea time in the garden.
“Are you feeling worn out?”
Jeremy asked with a worried face.
Elena shook her head as she grabbed the teacup.
“I’m okay.”
Elena smiled and Jeremy was relieved.
“Oh, is the Archmage still very busy?”
After taking a sip of tea, Elena asked, putting down her teacup.
“Ah. The Archmage will be leaving now. She will probably come back soon.”
“She’s leaving…”
It was not common for the Archmage to go out.
At most, it was only once or twice a year.
‘It must be something related to the Black Continent.’
Henus.
A former spirit master and the Archmage’s lover.
It was obvious she was working on something related to him.
And it must have something to do with Killian as well.
‘… She’ll be okay, right?’
But it was the Archmage; no other else.
The leader of the Magic Tower and the one who reached the pinnacle of a wizard.
Worrying about such a person was as meaningless as counting the grains of sand in the desert.
“Jeremy! Elena!”
As she was thinking about it, she heard a bright voice.
From afar, Jacob was running towards the two of them, waving his hands ecstatically.
At that sight, Elena’s lips went up.
After Roen and Jacob reunited.
Jacob, who had been concentrating on his work, suddenly took a three-day vacation.
Hearing this news, Elena was even more excited.
“Jacob, did you have a good vacation?”
Jeremy asked, smiling brightly at Jacob.
Subsequently, Jacob blushed.
Then, looking at Elena’s eyes, he cleared his throat.
“Cough. It went very well.”
Jacob’s cheeks reddened even more as Elena smiled mischievously.
“What? Jacob, is there something going on between you and Elena?”
Jeremy asked, a clueless look on his face.
Jacob pondered for a moment, then sat next to Jeremy and opened his mouth.
“That is….”
“What? What’s going on?”
“Elena has been a great help to me.”
Jeremy’s eyes widened.
Elena just shrugged.
“Jeremy, do you remember Roen, the one I told you about?”
“Oh, that Roen was… your first love?”
“That’s right. I got to see Roen again thanks to Elena.”
“Really? That’s great!”
Jacob happily accepted his friend’s congratulations and briefly explained what had happened.
From the moment Elena met Roen and Sera to the time he encountered Roen again.
“Oh, then, Jacob, you have a daughter?!”
Jeremy asked in surprise.
Jacob rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment and nodded shyly.
“Yes. I wish I had known a little sooner, but I’m still glad anyway.”
Elena was relieved by what happened.
Even if Roen and Jacob’s reunion ended on a happy note, the meeting with Sera might not have been successful.
Some couples couldn’t live without each other and would get married. However, they didn’t wish to have children.
Fortunately, Jacob was the opposite.
He fell in love with Sera in an instant and was very sorry that he was late.
“From now on, slowly, I will provide many things for my child.”
For Sera, who grew up without a father, Jacob decided to commit.
Also, he was very grateful to Roen, who single-handedly raised their child.
In this 3-day vacation, Jacob found a house for him, Roen, and Sera to live in.
Despite Roen saying that it was fine, Jacob found it unacceptable.
He never expected that the mother and child would be living in the slums.
So he immediately moved the two of them and decided to marry Roen soon.
“That’s great, Jacob. I give my utmost sincere congratulations.”
Hearing that Jacob and his family would be spending their lives together from now on, Elena was overwhelmed.
At her best wishes, Jacob’s eyes moistened and he nodded.
“Thank you, Elena. Thank you so much.”
“Ah, no need for that. By the way, please tell me the place where you moved in later. I am good friends with Sera.”
“Of course I will. Thank you so much for taking care of Roen and Sera.”
Jacob held Elena’s hands and bowed his head.
To him, Elena was like a lifelong benefactor.
Not only had she healed Roen, but she had protected Sera and brought them back to him.
“So Elena, if you ever need my help, just let me know. I will do anything for Elena.”
At Jacob’s pledge, Elena smiled.
“Yes, I got it.”
*****
After meeting Jacob.
Elena headed to her laboratory.
For the past few days, Elena has always stopped by the lab before returning to her room.
There was nothing special to do in the lab, but she was worried that Lexion might suddenly come.
‘Lexion, I miss you.’
Elena gave out a heavy sigh and opened the door to the lab.
She was certain that there would be no Lexion today.
Or so she thought.
“… Elena.”
A familiar voice came from inside the room.
Elena quickly raised her head and looked towards the portal.
Lexion was standing there.
Although exhausted from being overworked, seeing him made her feel better.
“Lexion!”
Elena ran straight towards him.
When she dived into his arms, Lexion – who was also spent from work based on his expression – was also relieved.
Then, a sweet voice followed.
“I missed you, Elena.”
