How To Survive As a Villain on the Verge of Death

CHAPTER 084

“It’s the same with the Rot itself. Even though I asked to meet him, His Majesty the Grand Duke would not allow it. But I guess I showed it to my sister a few times.”

It was an admiring tone, as if it was amazing. It’s really strange that the lot wasn’t even an item and was shown.

“Because Rott is still young, he probably thought it would be difficult to show himself in front of customers.”

“But he let my sister see him often.”

“I’m going to live here, so I just said hello in advance.”

Sorel’s silver eyes darkened again when she heard the words ‘live here.’

Suddenly, Sorel stopped in the middle of the hallway.

“Sorel?”

She turned around in surprise and saw Sorel looking at her with a tearful expression on her face.

“I can’t believe that my sister is leaving the imperial palace. We haven’t even become friends yet…”

The last words were almost like crying. Sorel lowered her head, clutching the hem of her skirt. Was she crying now?

Sorel lifted her head and grinned. Her silver eyes were full of moisture. She was really crying.

“Still, I’m glad I’m back in the capital. I’ll be able to attend your wedding.”

“Of course.”

Sorel in the original did not come to her wedding. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to come, it was that she couldn’t come because she was away in the battlefield… She gave Sorel a kind gaze and spoke in a quiet voice.

“Yes, actually, I really want you to come to the wedding. We are sisters.”

Anyway, there was little chance that the Emperor would target her on her wedding day. Just handling the affairs of the Empress and Vilos would be overwhelming. Still, she still couldn’t relax until the wedding was over. As soon as she heard what she said, Sorel gave her an earnest look.

“Actually, I have a favor to ask my sister.”

“Ask? What?”

“Can’t I be my sister’s bridesmaid instead of Miss Diane?”

Bridesmaids?

“Did you want to be a bridesmaid?”

Sorel raised her head and said, “Isn’t that obvious?”

“I’m my older sister’s younger sibling, so it’s something I’m supposed to do.”

“Yeah, but…”

Of course, she had previously wondered if it would be nice for Sorel to be by her side on her wedding day. Sorrel has healing powers, so if someone suddenly gets hurt, she can heal them. Especially on her wedding day, because her life was in danger. If an accident like getting stabbed happens, she could get treatment right away if Sorel was by her side, right? She thought so naively. Until she met Sorel for real.

“Sorel, you must still be tired since you went to the battlefield, so I can’t ask you to be my bridesmaid.”

She tried to be as kind and friendly as possible, and carefully conveyed the message, ‘It’s going to be hard, so you don’t have to overdo it.’ She just said it back, but it was a euphemistic refusal.

“And Miss Diane has been helping me prepare for my wedding for a few weeks now. I can’t tell her to stop now. Besides, you’re on probation. Wouldn’t it be better to just attend?”

She never wanted to make Sorel her bridesmaid. Everything they did from the temple to here was suspicious.

‘No matter who sees it, it looks like he’s intentionally following me to check out the mansion and saying he wants to be my groomsman.’

Fortunately, Sorel had just returned from the battlefield and was on probation, so she had an excuse to refuse. Anyway, everyone in the empire knew that Sorel and I didn’t get along well.

So no one would find it strange if she didn’t use Sorel as a bridesmaid. But as soon as her words fell, Sorel burst into tears.

“Huh, huh…”

Sorel suddenly burst into tears, so much so that even the butler, who was ahead of them, was startled and turned around.

“Sorel, don’t cry.”

Sorel lifted her head, whimpering.

“But… It’s so sad that I can’t be a bridesmaid at my one and only sister’s wedding.”

Sorel’s hand, holding the hem of her skirt, trembled slightly. She was secretly impressed. She’s good at acting. She remembered Terence scolding me for not being able to act. Looking at Terence and Sorel, she realized that she was really bad at acting. She became aware of her abilities again and her confidence dropped.

“Sorel.”

She hesitantly and carefully took Sorel’s hand. SheI felt Sorel’s white hands become cold and hard.

“I’ve only done bad things to you, but I don’t want to burden you until the wedding day. I want you to come to the wedding as a guest and have fun before leaving.”

Sheasked Sorel in a voice full of regret. Her bridesmaids would stay by her side from the beginning to the end of the wedding, never leaving. She didn’t know what Sorel’s intention was to be a bridesmaid, but she didn’t want to be watched with Sorel by her side all day.

‘It’s best to first avoid anything suspicious.’

Sorel’s silver eyes, looking at her, were rippling with complex emotions. It’s not like she was impressed with her acting skills. Eve, who was always shouting and getting angry, suddenly smiled in a friendly way and rejected her request, which seemed to be embarrassing.

“If that’s what my sister means… all right.”

Sorel smiled embarrassed and took a step back.

“Instead, I will attend the wedding early before the ceremony begins and be by my sister’s side.”

She wished she couldn’t even come to the wedding.

‘What on earth is she thinking?’

Was this something the Emperor ordered? But the Emperor has not yet returned to the capital. Did he send Sorel first and tell her to watch over Eve? However, there is something a little suspicious about spying on her. Sorel clearly seemed more interested in the mansion than she was, and was now insisting on being a bridesmaid. This wasn’t just surveillance… It seemed like they’re plotting some other wedding-related plot.

“Okay. Please do so.”

She carefully placed her hand on Sorel’s shoulder, hiding her true feelings and creating a warm atmosphere. She was curious about what Sorel was up to and whether she had some plan related to the wedding. She tried to see if there was anything she could glimpse with foresight. But no matter how hard she concentrated, nothing appeared. Sorel also has divine powers, so did precognition not work? She had no choice but to let go and walk down the hallway again. The butler waited quietly while she spoke with Sorel, pretending not to hear their conversation. He led the way with a polite expression.

“The first banquet hall is in front of me.”

After a while, the butler stopped in front of the large door in the middle of the hallway. Like a competent butler, he was desperately ignoring them and pretending not to have heard them while they were here. Fortunately, the princesses arrived at the banquet hall before the fight and seemed very relieved. The first banquet hall was much smaller than the banquet hall, but it looked fancier. Light jasper-colored walls and ivory-colored marble floor. Three long tables filled the interior. It looked okay.

She didn’t know what the second and third banquet halls were like, but she thought it would be okay to choose here. In fact, she couldn’t even concentrate on her choice because of Sorel. As for the banquet hall, wouldn’t it be okay to choose any of the three places? Wasn’t food more important? It suddenly occurred to her that it took quite a long time to get from the banquet hall to here.

“Wouldn’t it be a bit far to come here from the banquet hall? How long does it take to get from here to the banquet hall?”

Everything was fine, but if it was too far away, it would be a hassle to move after the ceremony.

“Shall I show you the blueprint again?”

“So, did you bring it?”

“Here it is.”

The butler took out a neatly folded piece of paper from his arms. She accepted the blueprint that the butler politely handed her. As she unfolded the blueprint, a cross-sectional view of the entire mansion appeared before her eyes once again. Looking at it again, it was truly a huge mansion. Looking at the size of this mansion, she even thought that anyone who came in for the first time would get lost or have an accident. If she didn’t come to her senses, she thought she would get lost, stumble, or fall somewhere even if she lived here.

“Is this the banquet hall we are in now?”

She looked at the blueprint and pointed to a spot with her hand. The butler came closer to her and pointed with his finger to the road next to him.

“That’s right. If you turn this way, you will find a hallway leading to the banquet hall.”

“Ah, here it is.”

“Yes, if you go in the opposite direction, turn this way…”

The butler’s finger passed hers and pointed to the opposite direction. For a split second, their fingertips lightly touched on the blueprint. It was such a short contact that she couldn’t really feel it. But at that moment, her vision went black along with a familiar sensation. When she took my hand away in surprise, a completely different scene unfolded before her eyes. Was it foresight? It’s been quite a while. She hadn’t seen much since the fire…

She opened her eyes, hoping that this time she would find some useful foresight. And as soon as she opened her eyes, cool air rushed into her lungs. Vivid dark green leaves were visible against the clear sky. A perennial tree with green leaves stands in a flower bed filled with dry blades of grass. White snowflakes were frozen between the tree branches. The refreshing smell of pine needles passes through the cold ice. It was a large winter garden.

Thank you for the chapter! I’m curious to see what Eve’s vision about the butler reveals!

I’m glad she didn’t let sorel become the bridesmaid and saw through her act. I don’t even want her to come early. Sorel is extremely suspicious 😩

  3. K says:

I have a theory…. What if the original Eve is in Sorel’s body? That would explain the lower holy power and the obsession with the grand duke mansion.

  4. chyurikaboom says:

What if.. the one who murdered og eve is sorel? I mean sorel have the alibi that she couldn’t come to her wedding (but actually the one who kill eve.)
