How to Safely Divorce An Obsessive Emperor

CHAPTER 075: That one

It was just words.

Ryan was already on her knees with her hand on the hilt of her sword.

Prince Ecelion had already drawn his sword, but there was not the slightest worry in Ryan’s eyes. He was just filled with his desire to clash swords.

“I don’t know what they’re for.”

Ecelion read Ryan’s eyes and sneered coldly. The imperial guard was not supposed to be anxious about personal success. Ecelion put the phrase “a human being who does not know the fundamentals” into her ridicule.

Ryan grinned as if imitating him.

“Contrary to your concerns, I know my duty well. But now, there’s no danger, right?”

They say blood doesn’t lie.”

It meant that she was doing the same thing as her twin brother, another Shadow Knight.

“Please look at it favorably. The empire has been so peaceful so far that all the knights seem to be suffering from mothballs.”

Ryan’s hand tightly grasped the handle as if he was about to pull out the sword at any moment, and Ecelion nodded her head as if telling him to pull it out quickly. Lasilia intervened in a timely manner.

“You two don’t think it’s an unnecessary fight?”

“Beep?”

Pipi tilted his head and asked why she was stopping them. Lasilia looked at Pipi with her stern eyes.

“I don’t want to experience the unfortunate situation of a royal from another country accidentally getting injured while competing with a knight from the empire. And vice versa.”

Ryan said something strange.

“Ah, I won’t let you get hurt, Your Majesty!”

It was the same with Ecelion.

“I will not be harmed by an imperial knight, Lady Lasilia.”

“Beep.”

Pipi thought it would be fun and encouraged him to fight. Lasilia gently tugged on Pipi’s tail feathers to silence him.

“If two people act the same way, how can there be no accident? I hope everyone will stop fighting and just do their own thing.”

“Oh, that’s it… Didn’t I just happen to do everything I was supposed to do? I’m on my way back after thoroughly inspecting the inside and outside of the duke’s residence.”

But Ryan shouldn’t have said that.

Whiik, clang!

Something flew outside the window, cutting off Ryan’s words. It broke the window and flew straight towards Lasilia.

“Lasilia!”

“Your Majesty the Empress!”

Beep!”

Pipi spat out his embers with his little beak. But the spark was too small. Ryan drew her sword and slashed her body. But unfortunately there was a distance. Ecelion sharpened his blade. He was also as distant from Lasilia as Ryan.

One difference was that a dark purple energy emanated from Ecelion’s sword.

Faaah!

Before whatever flew outside her window could reach Lasilia, Ecelion’s purple energy blocked it. It was blocked by the purple energy and scattered.

Susssut…

The remnants of what had been something disappeared into gray smoke.

“No way… Sword Auror?”

Ryan spat out with a very stiff face. Ecelion only glanced back at Ryan, and she walked up to Lasilia’s side without answering.

“Are you okay, Lady Lasilia?”

“It’s okay. But what happened?”

The answer came from outside the window.

Shut, blame!

A human shadow flew through the broken window. Ryan belatedly came to her senses and pulled out her sword.

“Who are you?”

“Beep!”

But it wasn’t an enemy. There was no way an enemy would do the polite thing of kneeling down on one knee after checking her face. As Ecelion did not move her body from Lasilia’s side, she only sent a glance to Ryan.

“He is the one who came with me.”

In her kneeling position, Ecelion’s escort quickly opened his mouth.

“I don’t have time, so I’ll post my greetings later. I need your power.”

“What? What’s going on?”

“Did Your Majesty deal with the thing that flew in here just a moment ago?”

“Yes. What was that?”

“We couldn’t see it clearly either. That is…”

It was then.

Bang, bang! Bang, bang!

The windows broke one after another and something kept flying in.

“Stay still, Lady Lasilia!”

“Beep!”

As Ecelion wrapped one of his arms around Lasilia, his purple energy spread over his blade.

Ryan rolled her body as if she was flying and swung her sword, and Ecelion’s guard knight moved his body behind him and formed. Pipi fluttered around and spewed out small sparks.

“Pipi! It’s dangerous!”

Lasilia extended her hand towards Pipi.

Kyauuuk.

It flew through the window and opened its mouth towards Pipi, letting out a strange sound she had never heard before.

“Beep!”

“Pipi! No!”

Pipi opened his beak with all his might.

Beeeep.

A heat so transparent and clear that it could hardly be called a flame flowed from Pipi’s mouth. Heat swept over it at first sight, and as it faltered, Ryan stepped on Ecelion’s guard and leapt up her body, snapping it in half as it floated in the air.

Look!

Then, Ecelion’s purple energy turned it into black smoke.

“Beep?”

Pipi’s eyes widened as he said that her hands and feet fit surprisingly well.

“There’s still more!”

Bang, bang!

Bang, bang!

A few more such things flew in.

Kyauuuk!

Judging by the sound it was making, it was a living thing. But she swore she had never seen a creature like that. It resembled deep, deep darkness rather than a living thing. The body was so dark that not even a shadow was formed. It seemed as if the main body was swallowing the light. Because it was dark, it was difficult to see the real thing. The feeling of something dark moving was more intense.

However, when it came right in front of my nose, I could see shiny red eyes, strangely bent wings, and twisted fangs.

Kyaaaaaah!

“Those…It seems like they are targeting Her Majesty the Empress.”

Ryan muttered, measuring the distance between them with the tip of her sword. As her eyes slowly got used to it, she felt like she knew what they wanted. If you follow the movements of those things floating high in the air and spinning around as if they were seeping into the ceiling, Lasilia was in the middle of them.

“Me?”

“Yes.”

Ecelion nodded his head as well.

“It looks that way to me too.”

Susssut.

Ecelion tilted his blade as if to protect Lasilia. Then a purple energy spread out.

“Whatever it is, isn’t it a long-distance price?”

Ryan asked without taking her eyes off them.

“…Aiming is not possible when there are multiple individuals.”

“Ah… One at a time?”

“Yes.”

Suddenly, Ryan grinned.

“It seems there are some other restrictions as well. Do you want to tell me?”

“It wouldn’t be chivalrous for an empire to openly ask for its weaknesses to be revealed.”

“Oh, I guess you could take it that way. sorry. That’s not what I meant, I just thought that if I knew how to use that power, I might come up with more efficient tactics.”

“One at a time. And a preemptive strike is impossible.”

“Are you saying it can only be done as a counterattack…? Oh, I guess that’s not necessarily true. They attacked Her Majesty the Empress, not Her Majesty.”

“And I need time to focus.”

“How much do you need?”

“It’s difficult to explain. It depends on your senses.”

“Hmm… Then it would be convenient to think of it as one.”

Ryan said, drawing a circle with the tip of her sword towards the ceiling.

“Over there, from Dell’Arta. Can you throw me in? From this direction to that direction. Then I will be able to cut about four at once. The other two… No, it’s three. Anyway, the problem is that they will target Her Majesty during that time. Can I leave that to you two?”

Ecelion twisted his lips.

“You want two of us to fight three while you fight four alone?”

“I told you this because I thought I could leave that to you.”

“Just take care of it, just the two of you. I will take care of the rest.”

“They say it’s one thing at a time. Don’t overdo it.”

Ecelion’s guard knight, who was still, quietly added another word.

“I will assist you. Then we can reduce the time difference.”

Ecelion made a straight face.

“Shut up, Tion. I can’t allow it. You must only use a sword.”

Ryan shrugged her shoulders.

“From what you’re saying, it seems like all of you can use that power like your highness? But I don’t think I’m as skilled as your highness.”

The guard knight named Tion clicked his tongue slightly.

“I shouldn’t have lost all my money to a knight of the empire like this…”

“Well, that’s just the situation. Let’s give it a try.”

After finishing her words, Ryan quickly stepped on Tion’s lap and stood up. Tion shook her head once, then grabbed Ryan by the waist and threw her upwards as if rolling her.

Ryan flipped her body halfway in the air and moved her sword.

Sigh!

Kyauuuk!

As Ryan shouted, he split it into four pieces.

Kyaaaaaah!

Sensing the crisis, those who were circling in the air rushed towards Lasilia.

“Coming, Your Majesty!”

“Watch out.”

“Beep!”

Pipi joined in, opening his eyes wide and staring straight ahead. But the problem was, his split fours also joined in.

“It’s split, but is it moving?”

Tion looked into space and muttered in astonishment.

“Shit!”

Ryan came running towards us with her sword.

Kyauuuk!

“Beep!”

Pipi burst into flames with all his might.

At first, it seemed like a small match, but as Pipi used her spirit and flapped her wings, it grew bigger and bigger. The transparent and clear flame, which was like fire but resembled water and wind, gradually grew larger and engulfed even Pipi’s body.

Lasilia screamed.

“Pipi!”

“Beep!”

It seemed as if Pipi had become a flame rather than a bird. Ryan let out an exclamation as she swung her sword.

“Phoenix! It’s awesome!”

Whiik, swoosh!

Ryan’s sword cut down those that were blocked by the flames and could no longer move, without hesitation. After Tion made space next to him, he helped Ryan.

“Be careful not to touch it!”

Now that he was able to use his power, Ecelion’s purple energy wrapped around the cut pieces.

Sssssssut…

Black smoke rose.

“Ah, wait a minute! Wait a minute!”

As Ryan was thinking, she stretched out her hand towards her purple energy. Ecelion screamed as his complexion changed.

“Get your hands off me right now! Don’t touch me!”
