‘It’s worth practicing hard.’
She was proud of herself for never stepping on the Grand Duke’s feet in actual dance. In fact, she couldn’t quite remember how she danced. Amidst the envious eyes of others and the Grand Duke’s gaze directed only at her, she was drunk with the feeling of being a Cinderella.
‘It was like a dream.’
It was a time when she was sitting alone on the sofa and thinking over and over again the moment she danced with the Grand Duke.
“You tell her.”
“What? You were the one who spoke up.”
“A man called man really!”
A middle-aged couple approached her and started a scuffle, glancing at her.
‘What’s the matter?’
To come with soldiers and exude a bloody atmosphere.
“What are you doing?”
When she asked first, the woman pushed her husband towards Hazel.
“That… I mean my daughter.”
“Yes?”
“My daughter’s finger…”
The man looked at his wife and her, cleared his throat, and continued.
“Can you straighten it out?”
“Oh, I see…”
These were the parents of the girl who pointed at her. By the way, was her index finger still not straightened?
“That’s what happens when you repent of your mistakes.”
As soon as she told her how to break the curse, the lady behind her husband’s back pointed at her. Gee, looks like it was something bad learned from her mother.
“How dare you do evil to my daughter!”
“Madam, that, please stop.”
Even though her husband said that they might become frogs, the woman did not listen to him.
“I can’t put it back right now…”
“What is it, Viscount Dorian?”
The person who suddenly intervened was the Grand Duke. The Grand Duke, who had been away for a while because he had instructions to give to the Grand Duke’s attendants, has returned. He sat down next to Hazel and put one hand around her waist. Then, he leisurely crossed his long legs and nodded at the tip of his chin, as if to tell the Viscount couple about a business. However, the two were silent as if they had eaten honey.
“Ah, Miss Martina. I guess she still hasn’t repented.”
He guessed it alone, laughed, and then suddenly changed his expression to seriousness.
“Viscount, the Grand Duchy do not tolerate threats from outsiders, big or small.”
Unlike usual, in a terrifyingly low voice, she felt like she had to confess and kneel down even for a sin she didn’t even know.
“I’m sorry, Your Highness.”
The Viscount bowed his head and apologized, but the Viscountess was still the same.
“Your Highness, even so, to bend the fingers of an aristocratic lady of marriageable age. It’s too much. My slender child is that w…”
Just as she was about to call her a witch, the viscount stabbed his wife in the side.
“When she becomes a threat to a lady, how much has she been…”
“Did I mention I met Drake on my way here by the way?”
The Grand Duke interrupted the Viscountess, and he suddenly brought up the matter of a few days ago. As the interesting saga began, nobles who had been watching everything around them, pretending not to see our situation, came.
“It was just when I thought I was dead. Miss Hazel stepped in front of Drake…”
The Grand Duke’s holy power was a secret, so Drake became something she killed.
“D-You mean you killed Drake with one shot?”
Everyone’s eyes looking at her changed in an instant from contempt to fear. The Viscount Dorian and his wife, who had come to ask her, quietly backed away and disappeared.
“I am tired. We have the carriage waiting, so we can go back now.”
“Zu, it was a good time. Goodbye, Your Highness. Good night, Miss Hazel.”
The nobles who did not greet her when she came to the ballroom greeted her politely when they left. Thanks to the Grand Duke, it seemed that no one would challenge her in the social world anymore. It was a ten-minute carriage ride from the Hobart house to the cottage. Since the Hobart family was like an enemy camp created by the Emperor, Elliot chose to rent a villa rather than a guest room there. When they said they should go back, Hazel asked back.
“Already?”
She said so, but her face had a soft color. It was a pity that she had a face that seemed like she would live now when she arrived at the villa. It seemed that she was quite nervous not to make a mistake.
“You had a really hard time today.”
Elliot thanked Hazel in front of the visit.
“No. I really enjoyed it. It was a dream-like day when I became a princess thanks to Your Highness.”
As expected, Hazel spoke only good things.
“Sometimes I wish you would complain to me.”
There’s no other way to get to know them that way.
“What is there to complain about?”
Hazel smiled brightly and she motioned for him to come closer. As she lowered her head, she whispered as she watched her maids waiting in the hallway.
“Your Highness has been really kind to me all day long.”
That is… did she like it? Turns out it didn’t mean that.
“Thanks to you, no one will suspect that we are fake lovers. It served its purpose well.”
Elliott, misunderstood, collapsed. It wasn’t acting that he cared for Hazel. Elliott stared down at the woman who had given him a clearing of her frustration, he asked silently. When could he end this ridiculous fake relationship? When would she open her heart to him? He thought she liked him too. Hadn’t she realized it yet? Or was it just that she misunderstood him? It was confusing.
Elliott glanced at the smiling maids, saying that they had a sweet and unpretentious mood, kissed Hazel on the forehead, and turned away.
“Good night.”
Elliot lay down to sleep, but he couldn’t sleep. How long has he been tossing and turning? Suddenly feeling something, he stood up.
‘What am I doing?’
Out of the bedroom, he walked down a quiet hallway. As he walked along the trail in an unfamiliar villa, what came out was the kitchen.
Dalgrak.
Along with the sound of cooking, an unfamiliar song flowed through the crack in the door.
“I am, I will be pizza.”
The only thing unfamiliar was the song, the voice was what he expected. Elliot slightly opened the kitchen door, giving a sign that someone had come. Hazel, who was standing in front of the countertop and clutching a bottle of tomato sauce, looked up at him, and as she made eye contact with him, she asked.
“Your Highness, are you hungry too?”
That said, he didn’t come to the kitchen hungry. If you have holy power, you can track the movement of magical power, but it would seem strange to say that he followed you. It would seem less strange to be hungry. Elliot gave her a brief nod and went inside.
“Do you want to be a pizza, ok, don’t you? Why not open it.”
When he asked what she was doing, Hazel was struggling with a bottle of tomato sauce. She knew how to do advanced magic, but she couldn’t open bottle caps.
“Give me this.”
Elliot took the bottle and held it.
Oops! The bottle was opened at once with a cheerful sound.
“What? It’s too easy.”
“I left it slightly open in case I would be having a hard time with Your Highness.”
Elliot, who squinted his eyes and looked down at Hazel, finally let out a laugh.
“What are you making?”
“Bread pizza.”
“How are you doing it?”
In the middle of the night, the two of them stood side by side in the kitchen making pizza.
Stir-fried onions and sausages were placed on slices of bread topped with tomato sauce and grilled in a pan, and the sound of laughter and talk continued throughout. The two of them served a late-night snack together with wine. Hazel continued to laugh at him, whether it was true that she was weak to alcohol, Elliot was in a happy tortured mood.
“Majesty…”
“What?”
“Tell me honestly.”
“What?”
‘Aren’t you hungry? Did you follow me?’ Elliot, who had expected this, was taken aback by the unexpected question.
“Have you ever been in a relationship? You’re too good at that.”
“No.”
“Ah, liar.”
“I’m not a liar…”
“Then are you a flirt?”
Hazel murmured, cupping her chin with both hands. It was cute, but it was nasty.
“Ha… It’s unfair.”
He sighed, clutching his wrinkled brow.
“To be misunderstood as a playboy because you are such a perfect lover.”
Hazel laughed.
“You know that? No matter what I do, I am suspected of being someone with 10 years of experience.”
“Yes?”
“When I first learned horseback riding and when I first learned swordsmanship, I heard that I had already learned and lied. The holy power too. The paladin who was in charge of my education said that my mother did secretly train me at home.”
Actually, his mother scolded him when he used his holy power.
“I never thought that even at dating I would hear such a thing.”
“Or it’s okay. I’m also very good at it.”
“Then next time I’ll try to be immature.”
“I wonder what the immaturity of 10 years of experience is like.”
Hazel made a lot of jokes, probably because she was comfortable with the alcohol. She laughed softly for a moment, then suddenly lowered her voice and asked.
“But the holy power…”
“Huh?”
“Did you miss it because of me when you were being chased by a troll in the forest? If you had used it, you wouldn’t have been poisoned by monsters.”
Elliot didn’t bother denying it.
“Ah, that’s why you lived despite being poisoned.”
Hazel, who had been muttering to herself that they were finally getting along, suddenly reached out across the table and patted his hand.
“It’s fortunate that the tremendous holy power is in the hands of an upright person like Your Highness.”
Even when she said she would keep it a secret, he guessed it, but Hazel was well aware of the meaning of his power. Elliot recalled what one of the ladies had said at the ball.
“If the Grand Duchess were alive, she would have passed out.”
She might have fainted from surprise.
