How Can You Pay Back The Kindness I Raised With Obsession?

“The Archduke is really too much.”

She muttered while looking at the mirror hanging on the closet.

“I already liked it, but it’s too much.”

After dinner, he called her and Mrs. Valeria separately.

“Wear clothes that stand out so that anybody can see you even from a distance.”

What kind of clothes were those? Did she have to wear a clown suit with big bells on it? At any rate, she told him that she didn’t have such a dress, and he instructed Madame Valeria to order one for her. It’s free, so she was grateful to receive it, but it’s a waste of money even if it’s not her money.

“Well then, shall we try?”

She opened the closet door. The inside was, of course, empty.

“Well, before that, the rules… ”

She took out her work manual, which she had kept in her pocket. After carefully examining it from beginning to end, she nodded and closed the book.

“Isn’t there no rule that says not to connect the huts outside?”

Since there was no rule, it was not a violation. She put the book back in her pocket and put her finger on the wooden board in the closet. As she drew a magic circle connecting the places and cast an incantation, the inside of the closet rippled and became blurry. Soon the wooden planks disappeared and the living room of her cabin slowly unfolded. That connected the closet door and the cabin storage door.

She, or anyone she gave permission, could enter her cabin by opening the closet door. But to others, it’s just an empty closet.

Daisy and Lady, who felt someone’s presence, stood up from the couch. As soon as they saw her standing on the other side of the shed door, Daisy wagged her tail.

“Did you eat?”

[Yes! We ate!]

[Where have you been all day?]

“Oh right!”

She finally explained to them what had happened that day.

The golden retriever, who had passed through the warehouse door and wandered into the bedroom of the Grand Duke’s residence, narrowed its eyes as if disapprovingly.

[Ugh, I fell for that guy’s trick.]

“What a twist… I’m alone… ”

[Have you negotiated?]

“What negotiations?”

[Reward?]

“What pay?”

[…]

[… Did you make him get down on his knees and beg for it?]

“Uh? He just asked me to come as a nanny, so I said yes?”

[Oops. Isn’t he just a bummer? Friends in the forest, I live with this pushover as the owner.]

“I received his apology.”

[Yes. That, yes.]

Lady, who was looking around the room with a disapproving face like a mother-in-law looking at a newlywed home, asked.

[Is this your room?]

“Yes.”

[By the way, this is fine.]

[What about the kids? I smell them nearby!]

The tuxedo cat, which had been running around the room excitedly and sniffing every nook and cranny, shouted as it ran towards her.

“The kids are sleeping.”

Before coming to her room, she washed them and read a fairy tale book to them, so she put them to sleep.

[Huh…]

“You’ll see them when they wake up tomorrow morning… ah!”

Then it flashed into my mind. The last rule as if it had been recently added to the last chapter of the work manual!

-Tuxedo cats are prohibited from entering the Grand Duke’s residence

Gee, if Daisy knew, she would cry… That was a rule they came up with to keep her and the children from contacting each other, so she’ll have to talk to the Grand Duke tomorrow.

‘Should I use the bathroom here?’

The bathroom she finally saw was more shiny and luxurious than a hotel bathroom. The cabin bathroom, though cozy, was too narrow and let in a cold breeze. However, her familiar bed would be better for sleeping.

After enjoying the bubble bath until her body grew tired, she hesitated as soon as I entered the bedroom.

“What?”

The large bed, which should have been empty, was crowded.

“Why are you guys here?”

The children, apparently asleep, were sitting on her bed, hugging and petting Lady and Daisy.

“I’m afraid to sleep alone.”

“That’s right. It’s scary.”

Well, She was afraid to sleep alone in that room herself, but it must be more frightening for a small child to sleep alone in a larger room than that.

After that, the five of them ended up sleeping in one bed that night. She was glad the bed was big enough. She hugged Luca and Luna, one on each side, and gave them a kiss on the forehead.

“My chestnuts.”

She should have called them Grand Prince and Grand Princess, but when they were alone, she decided to call them with the original nickname. Before sleeping, when she called the children without honorifics, Luna laughed and Luca burst into tears afterwards.

“Are you guys uncomfortable with my bed mattress?”

The bed there was like a cloud. Compared to it, her cheap mattress would have been like sleeping on the ground, but the angelic children shook their heads.

“Luca was sorry for Hazel because it’s hard. I like you.”

Luca poked her in the chest with puppy dog-like eyes. She blew on him as he asked, and he laughed, saying that it was itchy. They didn’t know how much she wanted to hear that laugh.

“We were going to go to Hazel, but our brother wouldn’t let us go.”

Luna pouted her lips as she stroked the fur of her sleeping golden retriever.

“But that’s what your brother did well.”

“Ehh, why?”

“It’s dangerous out there. Last time you were lucky enough to get to the cabin safely, but next time you might meet a bad person.”

She stuck out her little finger in front of Luna, who was still pouty.

“Then don’t even think about running away together again. Ok?”

Luna stared at her finger and shook her head.

“Can’t you make a promise now?”

“Why?”

“Hazel lives with us now.”

Ah… Didn’t the Grand Duke tell them that she was a temporary babysitter? The kids seem to think she would live there all the time. He should have told you. What could she do? She could already see the children drooping their shoulders in disappointment. She wanted to stay for a long time, but agreements were agreements…

She would have to talk to the Grand Duke. She stared at the ceiling of her bed, lost in thought, when a large rabbit’s face covered her field of vision. It was a doll that Luka had formally introduced as Lulu a while ago.

“Lulu is also going to kiss Hazel.”

Shup.

“Sleep well, Lulu.”

“Good night.”

Anyway, the doll was really grubby. There was no way the servants of the Grand Duke’s house, who would change children’s clothes immediately if they stained them, couldn’t help but prevent Luca from washing them. Should she ask him to take a bath with it when they take a bath tomorrow?

“I’ll show you around my house tomorrow. It has a lot of gardens, a lake this big, and ponies!”

“I want to go to the value.”

The children did not sleep and continued to chatter and chatter with excitement.

“I’ll use the sour spaghetti.”

“What are you going to do tomorrow morning? Potatoes, sausages, and omelettes?”

“Oh, yes.”

“Ah!”

She suddenly remembered. At the dinner table, as soon as the kids saw the broccoli on their plates, they pushed it over the edge.

“Shall we make a vegetable garden?”

Luka looked up at me with big eyes and blinked at me, not knowing what she meant by garden.

“Do you remember? You pulled carrots from our soil.”

“Uh!”

“Was it fun?”

“Ooh, I had fun.”

“Then let’s make it.”

“Joa.”

Great. Then, this time, she would have them grow their own broccoli and feed them with it.

With a plan, she patted the backs of the children who kept talking about what they wanted to do with her.

“Chestnuts, you have to wake up very early tomorrow to do all that. So go to sleep.”

One adult, two children, a cat and a dog, plus a big grubby rabbit. No matter how big the bed or the big bedroom was, if they were together, she wasn’t lonely or scared.

If they did that, even the bed monster won’t find them, right? But in the morning, a terrifying monster would burst open the door and come in.

* * *

Elliot placed his hands neatly across the desk in his office and glared at the witch in front of him. When their eyes met, the witch tilted her head and raised the corners of her mouth.

‘Are you smiling?’

In the morning, she started the uproar, and he was embarrassed by her bright smile, as if she had no idea what the problem was. He thought he wanted to fire her right now. Then that witch would be the first nanny to be fired from the Grand Duke’s family. However, the emperor’s edict placed in the corner of the desk caught his ankle.

“… Miss Hazel.”

There was a good reason for calling the new babysitter into the office and scolding her in the morning. Did the witch know how he felt when he opened the door to his siblings in the morning and found the bed empty?

Who kidnapped them? But after searching in their room, there was no note with a ransom demand. They couldn’t possibly take them somewhere far… He immediately called the guards. As he was ordering a thorough search, he suddenly had that thought.

‘What was the nanny doing while the children were gone?’

He opened the nanny’s door in a rage and…

“It’s not right for a nanny to share a bed with children from aristocratic families, and less with cats or dogs. Can you guess how stunned I must have been?”

“But there was no such rule.”

The witch pulled her work book out of her pocket on her apron. She must have been looking intently, seeing that the corners were already worn.

She said she was sure, well, having looked hard, she knows that there are no such rules. The children had always hated their nanny, so they never went to sleep in the nanny’s room. So there wasn’t a need for a rule forbidding them to sleep together.

… It’s embarrassing.
