Chapter 26
“You came to me last time and asked about the autopsy results of the penthouse murder case, right?”
“Park Sora-ssi?”
What on earth did that case have to do with the conversation they were having now.
“When a forensic expert writes a report, they don’t simply summarize the results based on the dissected body alone.”
Before writing the report, to obtain as much information as possible about the body, they carefully read the documents provided by the police, from crime scene photos to witness statements, the circumstances of discovery, and the details of the incident.
They look for suspicious points and explore ‘how and why the person came to die in this state’ through various research materials and tests. And when they are convinced that all the situational justifications are consistent, they write the first line of the autopsy report.
“I understood everything else. Except for one thing.”
“……”
“I knew it in theory, but I couldn’t assert it carelessly without experience. So I thought after pondering that it wouldn’t be bad to experience it directly.”
Sex pushed the physical limit. How great must the pleasure from sex be to go this far? Is it really that good? She said that fundamental question remained.
Muyoung’s eyes twisted slightly at Jae-in’s words. An indescribable unpleasant feeling welled up.
“Honestly, I’m not young enough to place special meaning on sex, and I’m planning to donate my body for anatomical practice when I die anyway.”
It was similar to the feeling she had when he used his own hands to strangle her neck.
That moment when he grasped her slender neck in one hand.
Right when he saw her face flushing as she struggled to breathe.
A sadistic desire flashed to put this woman under his control, to make her unable to easily take even a small breath.
In that instant, disgustingly, he felt arousal. Then, a horrific scene flashed through his mind. That’s when Jae-in’s face overlapped with the body on today’s autopsy table.
That’s why he couldn’t control his anger. At her, defenseless. And at himself for having such terrible thoughts.
Muyoung could only laugh helplessly at the overwhelming sense of emptiness that washed over him, in stark contrast to how roughly he had pushed her.
This time, Jae-in asked.
“Do you think I’m a bit strange too, Seo Muyoung-ssi?”
“Not a bit, very much so.”
“You don’t seem much different yourself.”
“Shall we say I met someone even worse than me?”
“But there’s no one else I can ask about this, you know.”
“Don’t you have friends?”
“No, I don’t.”
“You say that so calmly. It hurts the feelings of the person who asked.”
“If I don’t have any, what else should I say?”
He’s right. What’s the use of pretending to have something you don’t?
“Come to think of it, I don’t have friends either. I have a lot of enemies though.”
“Somehow, I thought that might be the case.”
He had said it half-jokingly, half-seriously, but Jae-in responded seriously before bursting into laughter.
That’s when he saw her smiling face for the first time.
Her eyes crinkled up to the corners as her lips curved widely. Her cheekbones, flushed a bright red, couldn’t have been more lovely.
The moment he saw her smiling face, Muyoung felt as if his perfectly beating heart was falling endlessly. It was fresh and shocking.
It was the first time he had been anxious about someone’s smile disappearing. He shouldn’t have boasted with mischievous words about women being pretty when they cry.
A woman who is pretty when she cries is far prettier when she smiles.
Meanwhile, the car turned into a quiet residential area. Muyoung, who had stopped the car at the address Jae-in had given, turned his head. She was still asleep.
“If I had known I’d be sad to part, I should have taken you to my house instead of here…”
He carefully reached out his hand and brushed away the hair scattered across her cheek. The hair caught on his fingers smelled of shampoo. Muyoung changed his mind about tucking it behind her ear and playfully twirled it instead.
“Tomorrow you’ll look at me with that calm face again.”
He should wake her up, but he didn’t want to.
“It’s snowing, and it might be dangerous to drive. Why don’t you stay over instead of going home?”
He asked a question that only lovers would ask, in a lowered voice.
“I was in a traffic accident recently, you know? Who knows if someone might hurt me again in the middle of the night. I’m too scared to go, okay?”
As he muttered to himself like a madman to the sleeping woman, he felt a tickle in his chest. The fact that it felt like they were real lovers might be because of the snow gently enveloping the surroundings.
“The weather is cold, and my heart feels cold too. It’s perfect.”
Just as he thought it would be nice to fall asleep embracing each other’s warmth like beasts enduring fierce cold, Jae-in slowly opened her eyes.
“Are you awake?”
Jae-in blinked her eyelids heavily with sleep once, then leaned her cheek against Muyoung’s hand, playing with her hair. Her brown eyes were hazy, as if still wandering in a dream. A moment later, she quietly moved her dry lips.
“Shall we?”
Her voice, close to a whisper, reached his ear. Muyoung felt his chest tingle again.
Moving his hand slowly from her cheek to her earlobe, Muyoung playfully tapped her plump earlobe, making a deflating sound.
“Are you doing this on purpose?”
“Doing what?”
Without saying she was awake, she had listened to all his rambling, and now asks, ‘Doing what?’
Even her innocent expression, blinking her sleepy eyes, felt cunning and sensual to him.
“You should go easy on raising and dashing people’s hopes with casual words.”
“It’s snowing more heavily now than before. As you said, it could be dangerous.”
“What are you planning to do if I let you in? Eat me up?”
“Your words are a bit off. If anyone was eaten up, it was clearly me.”
“You seem wide awake now, given how sharp you are…”
Muyoung lightly lifted her chin, bringing their gazes level. His face was reflected in her light brown eyes.
“I’m not some fool who just holds hands when sleeping. What are you trying to do?”
“I’m too tired to do anything now. Let’s do it in the morning when we wake up instead.”
Muyoung raised one eyebrow at the unexpected proposal. There was no lie in her clear, clean eyes.
Is that why he was falling deeper? Unable to escape?
“The interest will be high, you know?”
“You sound more like a gangster than a prosecutor.”
“Sometimes I’m worse than those gangster bastards.”
“Well, what can we do? The one who wants it more has to bear the cost.”
Does this woman know how far I might push her, to say she’ll bear it? Muyoung was dumbfounded by her calm acceptance.
“Seeing as you’re not refusing outright, you must have been quite satisfied today. I’m conflicted.”
What if I act more ruthlessly than any loan shark and make it so you can’t even go to work? Muyoung’s lips curled mischievously.
He pressed his thumb firmly on Jae-in’s lower lip, revealing her moist, bright red tongue beyond her parted lips.
“Can I kiss you instead of charging interest?”
Muyoung’s adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily.
“Loan sharks usually take the interest upfront, you know.”
Muyoung covered her lips with his own without giving her time to consider. As expected, her breath that burst like a water droplet was sweet. He sucked deeply enough to make his cheeks ache, slowly warming her lukewarm mucous membrane with his tongue.
Observing her face with closed eyes, he scraped her palate with his tongue, causing faint moans to disturb his ears.
Their noses crossed, pressing against each other’s cheeks, their tongues intertwined between parted lips, stealing and swallowing sweet saliva again and again. Still thirsty, he pushed his tongue in deeper.
Haa, haa. Jae-in’s heated breathing, panting with moistened parted lips, further whipped Muyoung’s lust. His lower body was aching. Unable to hold back any longer, Muyoung lifted her onto the driver’s seat.
“Ah—.”
The front of his pants, digging under her buttocks, was prominently erect. It was such a blatant desire that one might reasonably suspect he was about to unzip and plunge in right there.
Jae-in, who had been distracted by the kiss, startled and pulled away. She straightened her upper body, placing her hands on his chest.
“Haa, Seo Muyoung-ssi…”
“Just a little more, please.”
“No. Wait a moment…”
Muyoung, who had been reaching out his tongue to chase her retreating lips, let out a small sigh of disappointment.
“We agreed to have sex in the morning, didn’t we?”
“Who said that?”
“Then why…”
Jae-in’s eyes fell downward. What’s this? More shocking was that he was this erect even after doing so much earlier. Then Muyoung said something outrageous.
“It hurts. My dick feels like it’s about to burst, so I just want to rub it.”
And he said it so shamelessly.
“You don’t know how much mental energy it takes for a man to just kiss a beautiful woman.”
Muyoung grabbed Jae-in’s hips tightly as she sat with her knees up, made her sit back down on top of him, and continued brazenly.
“It’s cold of you to try to settle the interest with just a kiss, without even praising me. At least allow me this much.”
Jae-in was at a loss for words in the face of his fierce demeanor that seemed ready to penetrate her flesh at any moment, her lips quivering.
Sensing his chance, he wrapped his hand around her nape, pulling her towards him with a harmless smile. He didn’t forget to deliver a terrifying joke just before their lips met.
“Otherwise, I might end up masturbating all night looking at Jeong Jae-in-ssi’s sleeping face.”
Jae-in was only able to get out of the car after her lips had been sucked for a long time while sitting on top of Muyoung. By then, pure white snow had begun to thickly cover the car’s body.
