As Elliott expected, Brian did not have to wait long and came out to the training hall. He took a quick look at the situation and looked quite surprised when he realized that we had been training in advance.
“Elliot, Mirabelle, you guys came out early today? It looks like you’ve already had some training.”
“It just happened to be like that, father.”
Elliot answered vaguely. It could have been said that he showed up early and was training, but Elliot seemed to be more shy than she thought.
“But training will start from the beginning as scheduled. You’ll be okay, right?”
“Yes, father.”
“Sure.”
After hearing Elliot and her answers, Brian smiled happily.
“Well then, I think it would be a good idea to start by walking around the training ground ten times. Elliot has done it before, so she might be used to it…”
Brian glanced back at her and trailed off.
“I’m fine too!”
When she answered bravely, Brian bent his knees and brought me to eye level. She could see his eyes full of worry. When she first came here, the memories before the regression were so clear that she thought it looked sharp and harsh, but now that she looked into Brian’s eyes, it felt completely different. His eyes were full of kindness and warness. Since she wasn’t avoiding eye contact, Brian cautiously opened his mouth.
“Mirabel, if you get tired while training, don’t overexert yourself and take a break. Do you understand? The important thing is to do your best without getting hurt.”
“Yes, uncle.”
Brian patted her shoulder, satisfied. The reassuring feeling she felt in his hands made her smile.
“Then Elliot, you take care of Mirabelle’s pace.”
“Yes, father. Bell, let’s go.”
Elliot extended his hand towards her. She took his hand and started heading towards the end of the training ground. After lightly releasing his wrists and ankles, she started running with Elliot at a certain distance. Running ten laps around the large playground was definitely too much for her. This was her first time doing all this training with her current body, so it was inevitable. Still, she did her best and put in all the effort she could and was finally able to finish the race. The next thing to do after running was more intense physical training and learning how to handle a wooden sword that was heavier than the light wooden sword she used before. Brian checked her physical condition to the best of his ability and instructed her to train. In case she was having a hard time due to exhaustion, he encouraged her by suggesting she take a short break. Elliot was the same way. He’s been doing this training for a lot longer than I have. Therefore, it was clear that the intensity of training she was receiving was not that difficult for him. Nevertheless, Elliott matched her pace and provided a pacemaker by her side so that she could keep up with the training.
“Let’s stop here.”
Brian declared just as he was learning how to swing the sword slowly. Only then did she let out the breath that had filled her chin and slumped down in her seat. The wooden sword he was holding had also been placed on the floor. Elliot heard Brian’s declaration and approached her, holding his wooden sword in one hand. Then she held out her hand to help her get up.
“Even after training, it’s best to remain standing if possible.”
It was a harsh remark, but she definitely couldn’t just sit there and pant like this, so she stood up holding Elliot’s hand. After seeing that she had woken up, Elliot picked up her wooden sword that had fallen on the floor.
“Give it to me, brother. I’ll put it there.”
Elliot shook her head as I inadvertently reached for him.
“Belle, it’s your first day and it’s hard. Even you can at least bring it to me.”
After she finished speaking, Elliot neatly organized our wooden swords in the same place where she kept her wooden swords. She smiled slightly as she looked at him looking dignified.
“But you two, something… I think it’s a little different from before, don’t you think?”
Brian looked at them in turn, puzzled.
“What?”
Elliot tilted his head. She also didn’t understand what Brian said, so she tilted her head at him. Elliot helped her a lot before too. Today, because she called him brother, she felt like he cared for her even more, but considering Elliot’s age, it was not strange for him to show a dignified attitude as he became her brother.
“Elliot, since when did you call Mirabelle Belle? And Mirabelle also calls Elliot her older brother…”
It seemed like it was a problem with the title. Brian was licking his lips with a very shocked expression on his face. Elliot snorted lowly at Brian’s new question.
“It’s natural, father. I am Mirabelle’s older brother. Isn’t it okay to call her younger sister by her nickname?”
After checking on Elliot, who looked proud, Brian looked back at me as if he was very disappointed. Then his shoulders slumped and he looked away again. Despite his large size and sharp and sensitive appearance, he seemed a bit timid when it came to her, which felt a bit odd. But he didn’t really hate it. Rather, it was the opposite.
“You can call me Belle too, uncle.”
“Okay? Can I call you that too, nephew?”
She smiled a little as she saw his face quickly brightening.
“Yes, please call me that.”
“Thank you, nephew. No, Belle.”
The way he answered with a bright smile did not match well with the Duke of Crichton, who was called the Iron Duke. She was completely exhausted from the training that lasted from dawn to morning, so she headed to take a shower first. As she washed her body with warm water, she felt like all her fatigue was washed away. When she used her spiritual power to relieve her fatigue, she felt a sense of fatigue and happiness that she could not feel. After a quick wash, she started heading to the restaurant. As she was just going down the stairs, she ran into someone she didn’t really want to meet.
“Mirabell, aren’t you saying hello?”
As she stood blankly looking up at him, Daniel furrowed his brows. Perhaps because she had already criticized his words and actions at a dinner table a few days ago, he was openly showing his displeasure at her.
“Hello, little grandfather.”
“The little ones are already turning yellow. They don’t even know how to say hello unless an adult brings it up first. Hey, Barden. Tell your brother to teach Mirabelle etiquette again.”
Butler Varden just smiled with an embarrassed expression on his face, full of irritation.
“Let’s go to the restaurant first, Daniel.”
“Okay!”
Daniel, who snorted slightly, ignored her and took the lead. She was thinking about keeping some distance from Daniel, but then she ran quickly and caught up with Daniel. She felt Daniel’s unpleasant gaze turned towards her. She looked up at Daniel with her eyes wide open, as if she knew nothing.
“Does your uncle live here?”
It looks like he hd a separate house, but she was curious about Daniel’s intentions as he kept coming. Still, there was nothing she could find out by questioning, so she opened up the conversation for now. Daniel narrowed his eyes and looked down at her as if he was displeased. But he didn’t answer. She took a quick look around. From afar, Grand Duke Crichton was seen approaching. She intentionally looked at Daniel with pity and opened her mouth softly.
“You don’t have a home? Oh my god… I feel so bad. We also had a house where we lived before coming here… It’s fine. You might.”
“What?”
In the end, Daniel stood still in his seat at the deliberately offending words. She followed him, stopped in my tracks, and looked up at him with scared eyes.
“Are you angry? Sorry. I was just wondering if you don’t have a home.”
“That’s cheeky…!”
“Daniel?”
But Daniel couldn’t be annoyed with her. Just in time, Grand Duke Crichton came nearby.
“What are you doing here?”
Grand Duke Crichton watched Daniel with suspicious eyes. Daniel sighed towards Grand Duke Crichton as if he was aggrieved.
“Brother, Mirabel, you are making fun of me, right? They say I don’t have a home or something.”
“Well, you’re being sensitive about something a child said without knowing.”
“Older brother!”
As Grand Duke Crichton defended her, Daniel called out to Grand Duke Crichton with a troubled look on his face.
“But isn’t it something Mirabelle is curious about? I think this is the first time you’ve stayed at the mansion this long.”
Grand Duke Crichton spoke without knowing Daniel’s speed. Daniel scrunched up his face, but belatedly relaxed his expression and let out a soft sigh.
“My nephew came back after 10 years and I stayed for a few days out of happiness, but he only said he was very disappointed.”
Only then did Grand Duke Crichton look at Daniel and smile bitterly.
“I’m sorry. “I couldn’t understand your heart.”
“No. You might say that because I’m having a pointless argument with a child.”
Daniel, who spoke as if he was blaming himself, looked back at her. Then he smiled softly, pretending to be friendly, and spoke.
“Yes, Mirabelle, I forgot that you are so young. Besides, since you’ve been a commoner all this time, you’re probably not good at etiquette. But from next time, try to develop the ability to please adults.”
After Daniel finished speaking, he stiffly raised his head as if asking if he was done. Grand Duke Crichton still seemed to be in an awkward mood, but he nodded his head as if he didn’t want to fight with Daniel for no reason.
“Okay, let’s go in.”
Grand Duke Crichton patted Daniel on the shoulder. Daniel accepted the touch and immediately entered the restaurant. Grand Duke Crichton watched Daniel enter the restaurant and take a seat, then turned to her.
“Mirabell, you should go in too, right?”
“Yes, grandfather.”
Seeing the warm smile of Grand Duke Crichton, she responded with a smile.
