Grand Duke's Beloved Granddaughter

The prom went on later than expected. Even after the sun had set and it was evening time, the excitement at the ballroom showed no sign of dying out. Both her mother and Her Majesty the Empress were chatting amicably at the ballroom until this time, as if it were only natural for them to meet and talk.

Adrian whimpered from boredom and left the ballroom with the knight escorting him on his back. Elliot and Jeniel seemed preoccupied with their private conversation. And it wasn’t that people didn’t gather around her either. People who wanted to somehow connect with the Crichton family came up to her, who was only nine years old, and complimented her. Most of the compliments were flattering remarks like that she was so elegant and perfect that it was hard to believe that she had been out of the country since she was born and then came back.

She roughly laughed at their words and passed them off. If she had really been a little ignorant nine-year-old girl, she would have been isolated from the crowd because she didn’t know what to do in this situation. At least, with the experience of being an adult in the past, she was able to pretend to laugh innocently and receive compliments from people. By the end of the day, to be honest, she was a little tired.

It was good to have a sparkling stamina unique to a child, but it was because fatigue came quickly. She stood on one side of the ballroom, crossed her arms, and looked around the ballroom. People were now gathering with people they knew and talking in groups of threes and fives, and Mom and Her Majesty were talking to other people in the middle of it. Not only that, but Grand Duke Crichton, Brian, and Daniel were also focused on conversing with other nobles. In other words, no one cared about her right now.

There was enough of it, and she did enough to do it, so she thought she should go back now. To be honest, there wouldn’t be any problem even if it went like this. After thinking for a while, she moved on. Her destination was the garden outside the ballroom. It was because she was frustrated because she was only indoors the whole time. If she went back to the bedroom like this, she felt like she was going to have an emergency because her stomach was stuffy.

The garden was decorated with brightly lit magic spheres here and there, so it wasn’t particularly dark or blind. The price of magic tools must be quite expensive, but she looked around the garden with a new feeling, thinking that the Grand Duke did not spare money for trivial things like this.

It was a garden that she had already visited several times while practicing dancing, but there was a huge difference between the view during the day and the view at night. The combination of the magic ball and the garden tree was beautiful, as if you were in a forest in a fairy tale. Perhaps because of that, there were many people in the garden.

Some of them danced to the songs that flowed from the ballroom and chatted in front of the fountain. There were also people who enjoyed walking. She looked at them and walked slowly. Then she heard a strange rustle at the end of the garden.

She moved to find the place where the sound came out of curiosity. It was a place where a large garden tree was planted as a boundary between the garden and the outside. It was a remote place where even the light of the magic sphere could barely reach. If there was an intruder, she thought she would call the guards right away, so she slowly approached in the direction from which she heard the sound, being as alert as possible. And at the end, she was able to find a boy with a familiar face.

“Oh, it’s hard.”

The child, who had forced his way through the garden trees, crept into the garden with a grunt. From the leaves on his head, his dirty clothes as if he was rolling in the dirt, and the scars on his cheeks and arms, it was easy to see how much effort the child had gone through to get to this place.

“What are you doing here, Jeffrey?”

“Huh? Ahh!!”

She couldn’t figure out the situation, so she asked Jeffrey directly. Jeffrey was startled by the fact that someone was talking to him, and he fell on the grass. He seemed to be about to burst out laughing because he was so unkempt and round, but he desperately held back his laughter, fearing that he might get offended by laughing.

“Come on, stand up.”

She reached out and Jeffrey reached out and took her hand. A rough hand, unlike a child’s, tightly wrapped around her hand.

As soon as she gave strength, Jeffrey jumped up from his seat.

“I fell over because I wase startled by a sudden talk.”

Jeffrey let go of her hand and grunted as he brushed the dirt off his ass with both hands. But no matter how much Ishe thought about it, it seemed like she was the one to question here, not Jeffrey.

“No, Jeffrey. Why are you here?”

She laughed and asked him. Jeffrey replied, putting his hand on his neck and shaking it from side to side, as if his throat was sore.

“Why am I here? I came to see you. People say you have to come here so I thought I’d be able to see it after hiding for a while, but I met you sooner than I thought. Long time no see, Mirabel.”

Jeffrey, who spoke as if he was asking something obvious, grinned. His smile, which she hadn’t seen in a long time, seemed lighter than before.

“This is not the time to laugh. It was so reckless. What would you do if it was the guards who were here instead of me? If you were caught, you would be punished severely.”

At her point, Jeffrey shrugged his shoulders.

“Well, I’ve never thought about that before, have I? It would have been difficult if that had happened.”

Jeffrey smiled naturally.

“…”

It was so rude and reckless. It was the same when they met at the wagon, and it is now, and Jeffrey seemed a little reckless.

“It’s okay because I wasn’t caught. It’s better not to think about things that didn’t happen.”

Her lips pouted at Jeffrey’s remarks, not knowing whether he understood that he could be in danger, but didn’t take it seriously, or didn’t understand. Then, her gaze fell on Jeffrey’s head. There were leaves still clinging to his head, which had been picked up when he passed through the garden trees. It was probably the head, so Jeffrey didn’t seem to know. She was so annoyed that she approached Jeffrey. Jeffrey took a half step back in embarrassment at the sudden narrowing of the street, but she was ahead of Jeffrey. He reached out and removed the leaves from Jeffrey’s head.

“As you said, you were lucky today and didn’t get caught, but be careful next time. You have to take care of your body.”

“Ah, uh, uh huh.”

Jeffrey said, reddening his face. He seemed quite surprised.

“There are many wounds.”

“This, this is nothing.”

When she said this, noticing the small scratch on his face, Jeffrey was startled and covered his cheek with both hands. It was cute to see him startled and surprised. She looked at Jeffrey for a moment and then touched the pendant around her neck. She clearly remembered that Vivre had given her two divine powers. One was Lepid, a sword made from Vivre’s scales, and the other was said to be universally used by priests of the Goddess Duana. And as she remembers, the priests of Duana Temple had the power to heal.

She still wanted to try it, but a wounded Jeffrey appeared in front of me. Inside, she looked up at Jeffrey curiously.

“Jeffrey, would you like to come over here? I’ll look at the wounds.”

“This, this, is this really nothing?”

Geoffrey was very flustered and slashed left and right.

“I can’t help it if you don’t want.”

Of course, as Jeffrey said, it was a light scratch from being chafed by a tree, so it was clear that it would heal moderately if left as it was. Besides, Jeffrey was refusing to do so, and she was embarrassed that she had to force herself to do so, so she gave up and let her shoulders hang down. Then Jeffrey quickly closed and opened his eyes, then lowered his hand that was covering his cheek.

“No. You can see. Watch as much as you like!”

Startled by the careless shouting, she looked around. Fortunately, no one else was around, so it didn’t seem to hear.

“Be careful though.”

“Oh, sorry.”

Jeffrey stuck out his tongue and laughed awkwardly. She approached Jeffrey. Then she put her hand on the wound on his cheek. She could see Jeffrey frowning at her, as if her touch was bitter. She received divine power, but she did not know how to use it, so it was back to square one.

‘How should I use it?’

[I’m putting divine power on your fingertips.]

What she heard at that time was the voice of Vivre, which was quietly hanging around her neck.

“Vivre?”

“Huh?”

When she inadvertently mentioned Vivre’s name, Jeffrey tilted his head.

“Yes. Nothing.”

She shook his head at Jeffrey, who was hurriedly puzzled. Then, Vivre spoke to her again.

[It will be easy for you. Because you are my chosen child. Give it a try.]

Hearing Vivre’s words, she reached out toJeffrey’s cheek again. She couldn’t figure out what it felt like to be a god, so while she was in trouble, her fingertips started to glow lightly. Jeffrey flinched reflexively at the light that bloomed from his cheek, but he didn’t move away from her. It was scary, but it seemed like he believed in her. After about 3 seconds, the light soon faded.

Carefully removing her hand from Jeffrey, the small scars on his cheeks and body were gone without a trace.

I’m holding out hope that maybe Jeffrey is the ML, but when you have a crown prince with black hair and red eyes, the odds are stacked against you.
