Chapter 21
But that wasn’t possible. Because Hasson suddenly grabbed her wrist with great force. Sis’s eyes widened, and at the same time, the pungent smell of alcohol came closer.
“What are you doing!”
“You really are going too far. Are you the only one having fun? Yes?”
His eyes, which he looked at closely, were half-sweet. Sis wanted to immediately shake off his hand, but the man’s strength was too strong for her to do so. If he were to look at her only with strength and no weapon, she, as a woman, would naturally be pushed back.
“I guess you’re having a lot of fun with that duke these days?”
Hosson’s chuckle scratched the inside of her ear unpleasantly.
Sis frowned at his behavior, which was crossing the line, and kicked his knee.
“Fuck off!”
It was around that time that Hasson’s eyes completely lost focus as he let out a scream that shook the tip of his throat. He grabbed Sis with a vicious hand and pulled her towards him.
“Whoa!”
She tried to stop herself from being dragged by his strong hands, but her legs gave out and she fell over. Then, as if it was a good thing, Hosson fell flat on his face on top of her. In the dark shadow that fell over her, Sis forgot to breathe for a moment.
“Do you give it to people while looking at them? I want to try it too.”
Sis flinched at the vulgar teasing, pretending not to notice her heart pounding with anxiety. She was scared, but pretended not to be scared. These men who are full of pretense are vile people who enjoy seeing women scared.
But it wasn’t easy to get away. Hosson’s lips were curled up even more, as if he found her rebellion cute. The anxious heartbeat was getting faster and faster.
“Let go of this. Now!”
“No?”
Howson, who had been acting like he was always polite to her, suddenly lowered his head. Sis noticed that he was trying to kiss her and quickly avoided him.
However, it was not easy to avoid him who was on top of me in a situation where my whole body was suppressed.
When she resisted fiercely, Hosson clicked his tongue, gave up the kiss, and licked Sis’s white nape. The damp, swamp-like texture sent goosebumps down her spine from head to toe.
When Alexis touched me, I didn’t feel anything, no, it felt really good. Howson’s actions were just disgusting and horrible, like dozens of bugs were crawling on my body.
Sis never imagined things would turn out this way. Derrick, her butler, would sometimes nag her about her reckless behavior, claiming that she was immortal. Now that his nagging was coming back to her mind, it seemed like this was the moment she would pay the price for her reckless actions.
She wasn’t afraid of dying, so if Hasson had tried to kill her, she wouldn’t have been afraid at all.
But sexual harassment was something that could shatter not only her life, but also her latent pride and self-esteem. It was an indelible shame and disgrace that was even more terrible than death. If she were to be treated this badly by Hasson, Siss would really, really want to die.
Hosson’s hands dug in like snakes, caressing Sis’s flesh here and there. Her eyelids trembled and her eyes began to feel hot in her miserable state.
Seeing Hasson act recklessly, ignoring my words of disapproval, I became afraid that he would do something truly irreversible. My vision became blurry as if it was raining only on her. My hands trembled with my pounding heart.
It was then that a bang! A deafening, ear-piercing noise was heard.
“Ahh!”
Hosson, who seemed like he would never step down from above her even if he died soon, suddenly rolled backwards. A tear that had been gathered in Sis’s eyes flowed down in surprise as she sat up.
A tall man in black uniform kicked Hasson hard. Then came the
brutal violence. Sis stared blankly at Alexis’s back as he broke through the locked balcony door.
As if he sensed the commotion, the commotion outside the balcony grew louder. Only then did Sis come to her senses and grope her way up to draw the curtain over the balcony door. Meanwhile, Alexis kicked Hosson cruelly and turned him over. Then, he stomped on the bulging trouser leg between his legs with a loud thud.
“Ahhhh!”
Hasson’s screams of pain echoed throughout the area.
But Alexis didn’t budge and continued to crush Hasson’s center. It was as if he was determined to cut off the lump of desire that had raised its head without knowing its place. Hasson’s face, red as if it would burst at any moment, hinted at the extent of his pain.
“Oh, Your Highness. Stop… … .”
Sis felt somehow unfamiliar with him. It must be because it was the first time she had seen him lose his sense of reason. She had seen him cold before, but she had never seen him so angry as he was now.
She felt afraid as he seemed like a stranger to her, not the person she knew, but she couldn’t stand there hesitating any longer, so she gathered her courage and took one step at a time towards him.
As she placed her hand gently on his muscular back, Alexis, who was acting as if he was going to step on Hosson and kill him at any moment, stopped dead in his tracks.
“It’s okay. It’s okay… … .”
I didn’t want to make a fuss any more. That wasn’t good for Sis, for Alexis, or even for the perpetrator, Hosson. I wasn’t worried about Hosson. I was worried about the damage that would be done to Alexis. I didn’t want to see him get in trouble because of me.
I could feel his warmth on his broad back where I had touched him. Alexis stood there blankly for a while before reciting in a voice as cold as ice.
“Get out, now.”
Hosson, whose face was slammed hard on the floor and whose nose was bleeding profusely, ran away without looking back as soon as Alexis kicked his foot.
As soon as Hosson stepped out onto the balcony, Sis collapsed
on the spot. Her heart, still unsettled, swelled like waves. The horrible sensation left a brand on her skin, making her feel sick.
She had lived a very long life, but this was the first time something like this had happened. She had never been with anyone to the extent that this kind of commotion would occur, since she had kept her contact with other people to a minimum. That was why she was careless and complacent.
She was just an ordinary woman, no different from anyone else, except that she couldn’t die. She had no weapons and she couldn’t push him away by force. If Alexis hadn’t been there, things could have been really bad.
As she closed her eyes tightly and tried to control her trembling breathing, she suddenly felt a hand grab her. As Siss opened her eyes wide, Alexis picked her up.
His expression was not clearly visible because of the mask. However, the golden eyes visible through the holes were sharp like the tip of a sword. He was filled with rage.
Then, Alexis, who had regained some sense of reason, clenched his teeth as he recognized the commotion pouring in through the gap in the curtain where Hosson had escaped. If he went into the hall like that, he would attract too much attention.
He had no choice but to hold Sis and head towards the balcony railing. Since both the outside and the balcony were on the first floor, there was no problem in jumping down.
Sis, who returned to the duke’s carriage in his arms, looked up at him as he lowered her onto the chair. Alexis avoided eye contact with her as if he was deliberately avoiding it.
Feeling suffocated by the gaze that seemed close but not close, Sis carefully took off his mask. Alexis didn’t bother to stop her.
The face that was revealed only then was filled with even more fierce anger than Sis had expected. The heat in his eyes that had already passed the boiling point and his tightly stiff lips showed his anger without any filter.
“Angry?”
Strangely enough, seeing him get angry seemed to calm my surprised heart. Maybe it was because Alexis got angry on my behalf. If it was Sis, I probably wouldn’t have even thought of doing something like kicking Hosson out.
No, if Alexis hadn’t come to find her, maybe by now… … . The thought of a situation she didn’t even want to imagine made her dizzy.
“No.”
He sat down in front of her with his legs bent and his eyes locked with hers as he caressed Sis’s cheek. Moisture clung to the tips of his fingers.
Only then did Sis realize that she had shed tears. She had been so busy dealing with the unexpected that she had no time to check on her own condition.
“I think you’re angry.”
“Not on you.”
The hand gently caressing her pale cheek was warm. It was this hand that came to mind in the extreme tension that lay beneath Hasson. It was a hand that was warm, like being held in a wide embrace, and made her want to lean on it. Sis finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Who was that kid earlier?”
Alexis, who had been looking at her closely while facing her, suddenly asked. It was a voice that was already past the boiling point, as if it would overflow if touched.
Sis thought it was a blessing that he didn’t remember Hasson. If he had recognized Hasson’s face as the head of the Millan family, the situation would have been even more dire.
“Do you know each other?”
Sis shook her head, unable to tell him the truth.
Alexis spat out a curse through his mouth at the answer that was no different from saying they were strangers. He could never forgive the man he had just met today for being so rude to Sis. If it had been his original thorough personality, he should have ordered the knight to hold him back long ago, but he had been so busy taking care of the surprised Sis that he had forgotten. Well, he thought that if he was going to catch him anyway, there was no need to act so hastily.
“Let’s call it a day and head back. I’ll take you to the Count’s residence.”
Alexis glanced at the ballroom outside the window, then opened the window connected to the stable with a face devoid of any regret. Sis, who was staring blankly at him, clenched the hand on his knee.
Today, for some reason, I didn’t want to go back to the mansion. To be exact, I didn’t want to be left alone in my large, lonely bedroom. I felt like if I were in that cold, cool bedroom, I would keep thinking about the terrible things that had happened to me that day.
