FWTR Chapter 65

FWTR Chapter 65

Chapter 65 : The Opportunity Given by a Child

“…Yes. Because there was snake venom in the tea Estelle drank.”

When Michael heard the news of Estelle’s death in his second life, he was swept away by a great loss, even though it was a death he had already experienced.

All the feelings he had suppressed and avoided to avoid dying turned to ashes.

Even before, she didn’t choose death. The day he found out she had been killed, everything became meaningless.

What did I live for? How did I suppress the urge to be by her side?

I wanted to kill Melody Winchester, the woman who took Estelle’s life. So I killed her.

After that, I didn’t want to do anything, so I just breathed. I had no interest or desire in anything. No, I just didn’t want to live.

Since I didn’t have much divine power left, I couldn’t turn back time. Naturally, I thought there was no chance to save Estelle.

But how on earth did I come back this time? Even without using divine power?

“Sebas.”

“Huh. Since you call me by my name instead of your name, I guess you have a question?”

“Will you answer if I ask?”

Sebas looked at the cigarette in Michael’s hand.

“If you promise not to smoke anymore today.”

“You can’t smell the cigarette, so why are you doing that?”

“Of course. Smoking isn’t good for you. It’s harmful to your health. If you die young, I’ll be tied up too.”

He seemed to find being tied up quite terrifying. After all, he’s not alive anymore, so isn’t being tied up the same?

“Well, I’m not particularly curious. That’s okay.”

Michael put down his cigarette, clearly knowing why he was given a third life.

He had lost interest anyway, so he didn’t feel like smoking anymore.

“Tell me now.”

“I thought you left it to me.”

“You turned back time?”

Sebas furrowed his brow and shrugged.

“At first, I thought about trying it. Your Majesty seemed in danger, and if Your Majesty died, I would be tied up too, but in order to keep Your Majesty from dying, you had to be alive.”

The fact that he stopped at just thinking about it meant that it wasn’t Sebas who actually turned back time.

“But I gave up. It’s hard enough to keep me from being tied up, so why would I try something hopeless? It’s better to just watch Your Majesty not die.”

“Then that’s right. There’s no way you could turn back time….”

Sebas didn’t sympathize with anyone. He had never harbored such shallow feelings in the first place.

“But Your Majesty tied me up and died. Oh my, living as a tyrant and dying at the hands of rebels! It’s so embarrassing that I can’t tell anyone.”

He wanted to tie up Sebas, who was sighing and rubbing his face, and throw him into the dungeon. It was noisy.

“Do you remember the necklace that your Majesty was wearing?”

At Sebas’s question, Michael thought of Estelle. Now that he thought about it, it seemed like he had been holding the necklace in his hand when he left the mark on her neck.

“That’s the necklace that Your Majesty gave her a long time ago.”

“…I gave Estelle a necklace?”

“Be calm. There’s nothing you can forget. Your Majesty always wore it in her first life.”

No matter how much he thought about it, there was no such thing. If it was something he had given her, there was no way he wouldn’t remember.

“To be exact, I manipulated her in order to restore your Majesty’s relationship. I told her that Your Majesty had given it to her. I had engraved your nickname on it….”

The fact that Sebas had given Estelle a gift in my name was unpleasant. It was absurd that he had asked him if he didn’t remember giving it to her.

“You gave it to her and now you ask me if I don’t remember? And who told you to do that without my permission? Do you want to be tied up?”

“I told you! I did it to restore the relationship between Your Majesty and Madame! Why are you ignoring my noble heart that thinks of Your Majesty!”

Who should be raising his voice right now?
How dare you. Enjoying the situation by playing around like this?
He was overcome with the urge to tie him up and throw him away.

“…So, what about that necklace?”

He had to suppress his emotions overflowing with anger. Judging from the mention of the necklace, it must have had something to do with the time-turning incident.

“I felt a divine power from that necklace that was similar to Your Majesty’s, but different.”

“Similar but different divine powers?”

Each divine power had a different energy. They could never be similar.

‘But they’re similar?’

Even so, the fact that they’re different means that it’s not Michael’s divine power in the end.

“Tsk. If I give you this much of an answer, you should know. How are you going to live without me?”

“Do you want to be tied up, or do you want to tell me in detail?”

“…If you don’t threaten to tie me up, I’ll tell you.”

Sebas’s tone became harsh. Michael was lost in thought.

The only way to put Sebas to sleep was to tie him up. If he told him not to do that, he would run wild without knowing what to do. Michael would just have to watch in silence.

‘…Well, I guess I can just say I won’t and do it later.’

Sebas stared into Michael’s golden eyes. A tingling sensation came over him from the divine power and waves arose.

“I told you not to read my memories.”

It was an attempt to read his memories. Michael swatted away his divine power before he was controlled by Sebas.

“Your Highness, your gaze seemed to indicate that you were not threatening me now, but were going to tie me up later, so I wanted to check.”

In the meantime, he was quick-witted.

“…If you do this one more time, I’ll really tie you up. Just tell me quickly.”

“Why would it be similar to Your Highness? Isn’t it because the vessels containing your divine power are the same?”

The vessels containing your divine power are the same.

“And why would the results be different? Even if the vessels are the same, they are different people in the end.”

“Is it because we are related by blood?”

“If Your Highness had guessed wrong just now, I would have been a little disappointed. I don’t want to serve a stupid master. It hurts my pride to be born from such a stupid master.”

Sebas’s words that were irritating were lightly ignored.

‘Was there anyone among my blood relatives who had enough divine power to turn back time?’

The divine power the Emperor possessed was ordinary, and his biological mother had none. Even in his maternal family, the Royal Family of Luweon, there was no one with divine power.

‘Michael. How could you have been born with such enormous divine power? Something that neither the Emperor nor I… had. Why did it have to be you? Do you know why God placed this burden on you?’

‘Are you distressed because I have divine power?’

‘Yes. It proves that you are the son of the Emperor. Still, it’s fortunate that you have more divine power than the Emperor. If not, there would have been no point in giving birth to you.’

If that were the case, his biological mother wouldn’t have thought him with divine power so terribly.

“So who is that? It can’t be the Emperor, right?”

“How could an Emperor who is unconscious and on the verge of death be possible? The Emperor is too ordinary to begin with. He can’t even protect himself, let alone turn back time.”

It seemed certain that Sebas knew who had turned back time.

‘I want to ask why you turned back my time… .’

He was slowly trying to end this rambling conversation.

“So who is he? Tell me.”

“I told you not to read my memories, so I will ask. What do you plan on doing if I tell you?”

Sebas’s eyes sparkled.

“Are you sure you won’t collapse if I tell you? Don’t try to die.”

“Is there a curse that will kill me if I find out?”

There was no way he would die leaving Estelle behind, so Sebas’s worries were useless.

“Vivian Valderman Amillenon.”

“…What?”

What is this now?
Why is that name, that child, being mentioned here?

“Your Majesty and Madame’s child turned back time. Giving up the chance to live in another body.”

“…If you’re trying to fool me, you’d better stop here. Don’t you know my patience isn’t that long?”

A chance to live in another body?
Giving up my life.
A fragile child who wasn’t even born, how could you.

“You know very well that I can read memories. That necklace contained Vivian Valderman Amillenon’s memories.”

“…Enough.”

“Vivian Valderman Amilenon is now deprived of any life. In exchange for turning back time between the two of you, she has become a being who has no life left, just like me, with only memories left.”
