‘Why is a child who is only 4 years old so talkative and smart?’
She was very suspicious that Diana might have returned to being a child like her, but she couldn’t find any sign on her innocent face.
“Once a day… Right.”
Perhaps because he was concerned about his one and only daughter’s hardships, Duke Elad’s eyes sank, and his voice became lifeless.
“Hiccup!”
As she held her breath, she started to hiccup without notice. Fortunately, Duke Elad quickly recovered his life. Then he put a glass of water in front of her. She was embarrassed by his kindness, but she said, “Thank you.” She snapped her neck and quickly raised her glass. Fortunately, the hiccup stopped quickly after drinking water. But then, strange things started to happen.
The Duke kept pushing the bowl of food in front of her. At first she thought it was because of his mood, but it wasn’t. She belatedly wondered if she meant to wait on Diana’s food, so she carefully took a fork and handed it to Diana, but the child shook her head.
“Dana is full!”
And she boasted of her protruding belly. Eventually, she noticed and started to put the food that had filled her stomach little by little into her mouth. It’s only been about a week since she returned to the past, but she thought it’s because she didn’t have to starve again. Joy came beyond simply eating food. She started eating with a more relaxed mind and soon put down the fork. Then Duke Elad, who had been sitting with Diana without leaving the table even after the meal was finished, raised an eyebrow.
“Have you finished eating?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t have to endure. It’s like that beggar here… No, you can eat as much as you like.”
“I’m full.”
“Hmm.”
Despite her sincere answer, the Duke still looked displeased. He said she didn’t have to endure, but from the point of view of a victim, she couldn’t help but pay attention. However, she didn’t usually eat that much, and the food didn’t go well, probably because she ate after starving for so long. Still, by the time she was seriously thinking about whether she should force herself to eat more, a savior appeared. It was her idol.

“Are you going back already?”
When Bianca, who seemed ready to enjoy the sacrament at the Duke’s castle, suddenly announced that she would return to the duchy, the Duke asked in a puzzled voice. Bianca tried to smile with a puzzled expression.
“A little while ago, His Highness the Grand Duke contacted me through the communication port, and His Highness Rain seems to have heard the news of His Excellency.”
“What about Diana?”
“Yes. I told him right away that I found the princess, but…”
“I guess he didn’t believe you.”
Even without seeing how the situation went after that, she could guess, and the Duke put on a bitter expression.
“Anyway, I think you’ll be relieved if I go and tell you in person.”
“I was going to repay you properly when I arrived at the Duke Castle, but I can’t help it. You came and it was a big help. I want to say thank you once again to His Highness the Grand Duke for sending you so far away.”
The Duke looked at Bianca, who silently lowered her head, then slightly turned his head. He saw a child listening to their conversation with pricked ears. Following the eyes of a child full of longing and envy, Bianca was at the end. It seemed that Countess Maretta had firmly stole the child’s heart in an instant.
The Duke looked curiously at Lia, who couldn’t take her eyes off her. When she accused the head of the orphanage, she seemed smart and strong, but after that, she acted timidly and paid attention. Her bone-and-bone body looked much younger than her age, but her expression looked too grown-up.
‘But now again…’
She was a child whose eyes sparkled casually beneath her cropped bangs. He noticed that she had Mana, but she was an ordinary child on the outside. Even so, once it came into her eyes, she strangely drew her attention again and again. And it seemed to be the same for Bianca.
“Lia.”
After calling her name, Lia opened her eyes wide in surprise when she called her out properly for the first time. Bianca asked kindly as she bent her knees in front of her and met her gaze.
“Do you remember what I said upstairs?”
“Yes.”
Lia nodded her head quickly. Before coming down to her first floor, Bianca reveals her true identity and explains to Lia that she had mana and that she almost went berserk in the orphanage.
“She’s not in good shape, remember the saying that using mana without properly learning it can be dangerous?”
Lia nodded her head once more and Bianca proudly stroked her hair. Lia’s eyes were about to blur with emotion when Bianca asked.
“Then would you like to come with me?”
“Count Maretta, what do you mean by that?”
“It is literally. I want to take her. Of course… If Leah wants it.”
The Duke asked again, and Bianca put it more precisely. Lia’s eyes trembled as if hit by a storm. She didn’t hear anything wrong.
‘You want to go with me? Come out? Really?’
In her previous life Lia always wanted a place to be at ease, she always wanted someone who needed her. But she was surprised that Bianca Maretta, and one else, said that to her to the point where she didn’t know if her heart was beating properly. While Lia was confused, the Duke frowned at her.
“I don’t know why you’re saying that all of a sudden, but there’s no need to worry. Even the Duke’s family is overflowing with wizards who can handle mana.”
“But…!”
“It’s not like they’re trying to siphon the people of the empire into the principality without any special reason.”
Bianca bit her lip because the Duke wasn’t wrong. All the children at Tesar Nursery School were under the jurisdiction of Duke Elad, and especially Lea was picked up by the Duke himself, so he had no time for Bianca to intervene. But he seldom felt relieved. He couldn’t even understand himself, but it seemed that he would regret it if he left Lia and went back to Belus.
“Lea, you tell me. What do you want to do?”
When Bianca persisted and turned her choice on Lia, the Duke clicked his tongue in amazement. And he looked at Lia as if he couldn’t lose and asked.
“Yes, answer me. Since Diana is still following you, will you go with Count Martha?”
“Your Excellency, aren’t you being too mean?”
Bianca glanced at Diana, who was holding her arm tightly to prevent Lia from leaving, and she gritted her teeth. Still, if there was one hope, it was the child’s reaction. She had her eyes wide open and she had an expression of disbelief, but her cheeks were flushed and her eyes were twinkling. Everyone could tell that she was happy.
Indeed, Lia was trembling with joy. From Bianca, who offered her such a proposal, to Diana, who looked up at her with twinkling eyes while holding her arm tightly as if she could never separate.
‘There is someone who wants me.’
Perhaps Bianca suggested it because she was concerned about the runaway of mana, but everything seemed like a dream. As Lia hesitated at her answer, the Duke waited for her child’s answer with a nervous feeling for some reason.
“I am…”
Before long, Lia’s lips opened.
* * *
In the carriage alone with the sleeping Diana, she looked out the window at the moon. After crossing the mountain range, it was the Duchy of Elad. As a result, she chose to go with Diana. It was because she felt a sense of responsibility to quickly put Jack’s position back because of her. But most of all, right before her mouth opened.
<Don’t go! Missi can’t go whaaaa!>
The decisive reason was that Diana suddenly started crying. It seemed like he had a lot of affection. Seeing that she had no intention of leaving her child clinging to her crying. Of course, it would be a lie if she said she had no regrets. She did not know when she would meet Bianca again, who would enter her confinement at some point, and she wanted to feel more of her kindness.
‘I also wanted to see her ability in person.’
However, for her who knew a little bit about the future, it was better to stay in the Empire. There was something that she had come to realize in her previous life. If you are useless, you can’t survive, and sympathy only relieves hunger for a short time, but it’s never salvation.
‘Even though I was taken in by the guild due to the master’s whim…’
If she didn’t have mana, and if she didn’t constantly work hard to prove her worth, would she be able to become a formal guild member? She did not think so.
“But I’m tired now.”
She was really fed up with being so nervous because she didn’t want to be abandoned or because she wanted to be recognized. Besides, what was the result of trying hard enough to die? Terranchium was her hometown and home.
The Master who picked her up after she was lying on the street. Executives who taught her a lot when she couldn’t get along with her colleagues. She sincerely thought of them as family, and she wanted to be proudly recognized as a member. But what came back was a betrayal.
‘Of course, I want to believe that Masters and executives don’t know, but…’
Jade was a person who had served the Master long before her, and was the most powerful person next to the executives. It was hard to accept that Jade did such a thing on her own due to the nature of Terenchium, which was very loyal.
“…Ha, what do you do when you keep thinking about it? It’s a relationship that has already ended.”
She smiled dejectedly and shook her head. She had no desire to repeat her past life.
‘I’m not going to live my life being tied down by others again.’
In this life, she wanted to stand tall alone with her abilities and future information.

I hope Bianca comes back into the story often. I feel like that was the only time Diana really acted like a kid.
Since it’s a character we got so much info about, I’m sure she will appear in the future 😉
