Don't Be Obsessed With An Extra

She died pitifully in the middle of the road, so shouldn’t she live this life well? Even inside of a novel, whatever. Although she was in a novel, so what?  While a lot of things are different, this is still a world where people live and breathe.

She can overlook the fact that she was not the heroine but an extra struggling to live. It’s a novel. The main characters are supposed to lead it, aren’t they?

Priscilla is an extra everywhere you look. Whatever Priscilla does, it doesn’t really matter. Lee Seyeon, No, the girl who possessed Priscilla thought of that as a positive matter. Although she died due to a crazy boyfriend, she can eat and live well here.

After all, she can’t return to Korea after she had died, she had to live well here. She just have to endure until the heroine appears. When she appears, this place will disappear and she’ll get my freedom.

She needed to endure it until then.

Priscilla pulled a string from the ceiling and called for a maid. She thought for so long that she eventually got hungry.

“You called, Lady Priscilla.”

“I’m hungry, so bring in some food.”

“Yes, Lady Priscilla.”

After a bit, the maid briefly brought the food. It was a sandwich. But she couldn’t eat the sandwich. Since someone interrupted her.

A beautiful woman with black hair suddenly came in.

That woman is the palace’s notorious wicked Jestina. She walked into the room with a group of maids, glanced at Priscilla and laughed.

“You’re still alive.”

She had dissatisfied face when she saw that she was alive. Priscilla gazed up to Jestina. It was interesting to see the novel’s villian with her two eyes.

She was just as she was described in the novel. How can it be this exact, her torn eye, bright red lips that seem to have eaten a mouse, and a proud nose that rises into the sky?

“What are you looking at so intently?”

She glared her eyes at Jestina to see what she was doing.

“An uncrowned like you dares to not greet me, a gold crown?”

Priscilla burted into laughter as Jestina glared at her. Because it was ridiculous. Whether its a gold crown or an uncrowned, we’re all in the same situation since the Emperor doesn’t even cast a look our way.

Not receiving a crown doesn’t change your own situation nor the situations of other princesses. We’re locked in here with each other with the same situation until the heroine shows up.

Moreover, the Emperor doesn’t sleep with the princesses. He’s truly a weird man. He has several beautiful princesses solely for ornamental display, is what I’m saying.

Even so, the princesses grab onto the slightest hope and do whatever it takes to try to sleep with the Emperor. Even if the result comes out to nothing. Do they know? I’m not sure that having the Emperors child will change your situation.

While embracing such hope, the princesses at the palace continued to live. And Jestina is just one of those princesses. Her goal is to become empress. To do that, she disregarded the kingdom’s efforts to stop her and came to the palace.

She confidently thought that with the enormous amount of money from her kingdom, that the Emperor would choose her. That’s why Priscilla laughed. It was just hilarious.

Jestina? She’s not scary at all. Since she was not the delicate Priscilla, but Lee Seyeon that lived in South Korea. She was not going to become a powerless Priscilla.

“Why do I have to greet you first? Doesn’t the person that enters the room have to greet first, isn’t that the order?”

“What?”

“And as you can see I was eating my meal, if you have business with me, come at another time. “

Jestina looked at Priscilla’s face with a stunned expression. It’s not wrong when they say that your liver comes out of your stomach when you die and come to life once*.

TL/N: the korean saying of “your liver is out of your stomach” means someone acts too recklessly without fearing consequences.

“You must be crazy.”

“I’m not crazy at all. Also, let’s not speak informally. “

Jestina looked at Priscilla with an absurd expression.

“It seems you have yet to regain your senses. I’m different from you. I’m different from you that was thrown away by your country.”

“How are we different? Because you’re richer than me? Sure, I admit to that. So what? Don’t we have the same circumstances of living in isolation in this palace?”

“I-Isolation?”

Jestina frowned as if she didn’t understand, Priscilla made a mistake

“Oh, the people here don’t know that type of speech. I apologize. I used Hanja without realizing. “

“Hanja?”

“Isolation is a word used in a really far country, it means sleeping alone in an empty room.”

Jestina’s face turned pale and red as she understood it’s meaning.

” You…! How dare you!”

” Will you leave now? I have to eat.”

” Ha, I can’t believe this!”

Jestina couldn’t believe it. She used to hide like a rat and couldn’t even raise her head. But now she looked at her straight and even talked back like that.

It seems she grew some courage after dying once. Jestina gave the maids an eye gesture.

“Kneel.”

“Yes, Lady Jestina.”

At her command, the maids approached Priscilla.

She didn’t think it would end nicely anyways. Jestina threw a sneer at Priscilla’s face. It was like she was saying ‘ let’s see how long you can be sassy’. The maids lunged at Priscilla.

Priscilla stood from her spot smiling. During the time where Kim Dong-Hyun’s stalking was scary, so she learned self-defense in her freetime.

“You can’t be like this. “

Priscilla surprised Jestina by overpowering the maids one by one using her self-defense skills she learned.

“W-What!”

Priscilla approached Jestina and pointed her finger towards the door.

“Will you leave now? Or should I do more to your maids?”

Jestina firmly bit her lips.

“… I’ll leave for now, but I’ll make you regret it.”

Villians and wicked people always recite those lines. Maybe it’s expected since this is inside a novel? Jestina left the room violently after huffing and cursing out her maids for their stupidity.

After came peace. Priscilla made a gesture to the maid trembling outside the door. The maid swallowed her dry saliva and Priscilla approached her carefully.

“What’s your name?”

“Yes?”

“Your name.”

“I-It’s Rien.”

“Your age?”

“I-I’m sixteen.”

“Sixteen?”

“Yes.”

My goodness. Isn’t that the age of a middle school student in Korea? She’s in the age that’s prime for studying.

She realized how outdated this world actually is.

“Can I speak casually with you?”

“O-Of course.”

“Okay I received your permission.”

“Yes.”

Priscilla had a pleased smile and asked the next question.

“Are you my only maid? “

“Yes, it’s just me.”

Your power in the palace is determined by how many maids you have. Obviously, Jestina is first and after her are several other princesses. Of course, there are princesses like Priscilla who only have one maid.

Priscilla threw questions about this and that to Rien. She asked about the palace, the emperor, and even about the Frances Empire.

With this, I could approximately tell where the story progress would roll out. Priscilla thanked Rien for her sincere answers and asked to eat dinner together.

“I-I cannot!”

Rien stubbornly refused. There is a rule that does not allow maids to sit at the same table as their master. But Priscilla did not care.

Since she doesn’t like eating all alone. As a result, Rien has no choice but to be pressured to eat with Priscilla.

“Let’s eat together like this everyday.”

“But.. the rules..”

“It’s okay, who’s going to say something if the master gave you permission. And I hate eating alone.”

Rien looked at Priscilla with an understanding expression. There’s no place more lonely and isolated as this palace.

And, Priscilla is alone, being abandoned by her family and her country. That’s why Rien pitied her.

“Haa. “

Priscilla lazily yawned and stretched. When she looked out the window, it was already midnight. The sad Rien stood from her seat.

“The time has passed like this already. I’ll get you ready to sleep.”

Being too tired to respond, Priscilla nodded. Rien put out her place to sleep, and Priscilla laid inside the bed and shut her eyes.

Rien covered her with a blanket and left the room after cleaning the table. Priscilla slept comfortably for the first time in a long time.

Late in the night, the light in the office of the Emperor’s palace was still on. Inside was a man with black hair on the sofa reading a book. His blue eyes didn’t stray from the book.

The man inside was the Emperor of frances, with a bad reputation of being a tyrant, Michael.

Knock Knock-

He heard the knock even as he’s immersed in the book. Michael doesn’t withdraw his gaze from the book and opens his mouth.

“Come in. “

The door of the office was quietly opened and a middle-aged woman came in while bowing.

“Your majesty, the great hope of the Empire.”

Michael closed his book and looked at the girl.

It was Marilyn, the head maid at the palace, the Emperor placed her in the palace to monitor it. Marilyn manages and oversees all the maids in the palace. And, she reports all the events that happened at the palace to the Emperor.

“If you have come to see me at this time it means that something has happened at the palace again. Did Jestina do something again?”

Marilyn reported all the events that happened to Michael.

“Priscilla? Jestina tried to harm Princess Priscilla, that’s odd. “

Priscilla was a beautiful but weak princess. Not long ago, it was said that she survived thanks to a miracle after attempting suicide. That kind of woman lunged at Jestina.
