Chapter 91 – Leaving Together
“Brother Xie is right.” The tall man, standing at 1.8 meters, lowered his head deeply, not daring to say a word in rebuttal.
“Double your training starting tomorrow.”
“Yes.”
In the past, whenever a comrade was punished with double training, the others would mock them a bit.
But today, no one could find any joy in it.
Because they were next.
No one would escape today.
One by one, they went up, and one by one, Tu Ran defeated them.
Almost no one could withstand more than ten moves from her.
After all, Tu Ran’s skill level was only slightly below Xie Xu’s now.
It was no surprise that everyone present today was punished with double training.
They all wore bitter expressions, standing in the corner, glaring at Tu Ran as she packed up.
Leisurely, Tu Ran put on her hoodie, mask, and sunglasses, wrapping her face completely.
“Goodbye, brothers!” Tu Ran slung her backpack over her shoulder and waved heartily at the people in the corner.
No one responded.
They all wished she would leave as quickly as possible.
The further, the better.
Since she started training here, they hadn’t had a single good day.
Tu Ran shrugged, unconcerned.
With her backpack slung over her shoulder, she left through the stairway.
She opened a hidden door and stepped from the cramped storage room into the clinic, where Xiao Jiu was sitting at the computer desk.
“You’re back.” He jumped down from the desk, looking her up and down.
“Yes,” Tu Ran nodded, glancing at the others in the clinic.
She noticed Mechanical Head was there too.
She was still curious whether he was human or a robot.
“Looks like you didn’t get hurt today.” Xiao Jiu observed her walking posture and the strength in her voice.
“No, I didn’t.” Tu Ran smiled.
Xiao Jiu’s gaze suddenly shifted behind her, and Tu Ran also heard the footsteps coming from behind.
“Oh, Brother Xie, you came up too?” Xiao Jiu’s surprise quickly turned into a cry, “Brother Xie, what happened to your face?”
Tu Ran turned to look and saw Xie Xu coldly staring back at her.
She smiled awkwardly.
Xiao Jiu immediately understood what had happened. He glanced at Tu Ran with a complicated expression, then turned his concerned look to Xie Xu, “Brother Xie, let me bandage you up.”
“No need,” Xie Xu said, pulling his hat down low, “I have a meeting soon and don’t have time.”
“Then Brother Xie, take care,” Xiao Jiu said.
Xie Xu walked out briskly, head down, zipping his jacket up to cover his face.
Tu Ran followed him out, “You’re heading to the administration building, right? We’re going the same way.”
Xie Xu ignored her, walking even faster.
Tu Ran, unfazed, simply followed him.
It was now evening, and the black market was bustling.
The crowd was even denser than when Tu Ran had arrived.
The shops on both sides had turned on their lights, with colorful signs trying to outshine each other, hanging neon lights on the walls to make their storefronts more noticeable.
The whole street was brightly lit.
Compared to the dull, gray street of the daytime, the street was now undoubtedly charming.
Initially, the two walked one behind the other, but as the crowd grew denser, their distance gradually shortened until they were walking side by side.
Suddenly, a scantily clad woman stepped in their way.
She had a seductive appearance and an even more enchanting voice, “Hey there, boys, want to come in and have some fun?”
Tu Ran, tall for a woman and dressed in a gender-neutral style, had been mistaken for a man by her.
