Developing Superpowers in Another World

Complete Defeat

Chapter 90 – Complete Defeat

Tu Ran wasn’t tired anymore; fighting them would be a piece of cake.

She quickly got up from the ground, slung her sword over her shoulder, and leaned against the pillar at the edge of the ring, like an idle street thug. Smiling, she invited them, “Come on up, let’s not waste time.”

The spectators below the ring looked at each other, starting to push the responsibility around.

“You go up.”

“You first.”

“I’ll go later.”

“Come on, didn’t you always say your sword skills were the best?”

“Exactly, the one with the best sword skills should go first.”

“When did I ever say my sword skills were the best? I never said that, you heard wrong!” that person retorted, embarrassed and angry.

“Then Wang Baobao should go up first, you’re good with the sword.”

Seeing them push and shove, Tu Ran understood Xie Xu’s delight.

So this was how he felt watching her lie on the ground, doing nothing.

Tsk tsk, it was really satisfying.

“Come on, stop pushing each other. It’s still early, everyone will get a turn. It doesn’t matter who goes first or last,” Tu Ran called out.

For her, it made no difference anyway.

The crowd below the ring fell silent, a dead quiet settling over them.

“Well… Baobao, you go first.” Tu Ran directly called out Wang Baobao.

It was simply because his name was so easy to remember.

Wang Baobao’s face instantly turned ashen, his chubby face drooping, eyes welling with tears.

Even though he was unwilling, with Brother Xie glaring at him from above, he didn’t dare to shirk.

With heavy steps, he walked up to the ring, carefully taking the sword from Xie Xu’s hand.

Xie Xu patted his shoulder and stepped down from the ring, giving him the space.

Brother Xie had high expectations for him. If he lost too quickly, it would be a disgrace to Brother Xie.

He couldn’t lose.

Wang Baobao made a silent resolution.

“Let’s start, good luck!” Tu Ran encouraged, making a cheering gesture.

“Sister Tu Ran, please go easy on me,” Wang Baobao couldn’t help but plead pitifully, hoping she wouldn’t be too harsh. He didn’t want to be injured.

“Absolutely, absolutely,” Tu Ran promised.

Xie Xu had his subordinates spar with her for two reasons: to give her a breather and to reinforce her sword skills, and also to help correct his subordinates’ weaknesses.

A mutually beneficial method.

She didn’t need to go too hard.

Wang Baobao charged forward with his sword.

He had many flaws and posed no real challenge. Tu Ran raised her sword to block.

As their blades clashed, she used the force to twist her wrist, putting all her strength into pressing Wang Baobao’s sword down while edging his blade closer to his pale neck.

Seeing the blade about to touch his neck, Wang Baobao panicked and cried out, “Ah, Sister Tu Ran, I surrender!”

Tu Ran quickly withdrew her blade.

The entire match took less than a minute.

“Next,” Tu Ran said.

Wang Baobao walked off the ring, crestfallen.

Passing by Xie Xu, who had been watching the whole time, Xie Xu coolly remarked, “From now on, double your daily training.”

“Yes,” Wang Baobao replied, bowing his head in shame.

With Wang Baobao having gone first, the second person quickly followed.

“Miss Tu, please go easy.”

Tu Ran nodded.

Her opponent immediately leaped into the air like a great eagle spreading its wings, exuding an impressive aura.

Tu Ran grew cautious, estimating that this was a skilled opponent who needed to be taken seriously.

However, the skilled opponent was sent flying three seconds later.

Tu Ran disarmed him with one strike and then kicked him off the ring.

“Your grip strength is insufficient,” Tu Ran critiqued.

The man climbed up from the ground, clutching his chest, and stumbled away.

He inevitably passed by Xie Xu.

“Instead of wasting time with flashy moves, you should focus on gripping your sword properly. Losing your weapon as soon as you engage, how many lives do you think you have?” Xie Xu said coldly.
