Kill You

Chapter 85 – Kill You

“Got it, Iron-fisted Inspector, I won’t call you that anymore,” Tu Ran said as she walked away without turning her head.

This left the old man stomping his feet in anger.

When Tu Ran got home, she received a message from Xie Xu, telling her to go to the black market training ground at 2 PM.

Tu Ran had a simple meal, packed her gear, and set off.

Today’s black market was no different from yesterday’s, crowded with people. Tu Ran also noticed some things she hadn’t seen the day before.

For example, women with heavy makeup soliciting customers on the street.

And women in bright dresses standing at the entrances of dingy shops.

If you looked closely, you’d see their facial expressions were very stiff, with their mouths curved in a fixed arc that didn’t move.

They were robots.

Created by humans to fulfill physiological needs.

Such lifelike robots were not allowed under federal law and only appeared in lawless places like the black market.

Tu Ran walked past them and headed towards the small clinic where Mechanical Head had guided her yesterday.

Inside the shop, it still smelled like cheap disinfectant.

Four people were lying on the beds, the ones who were more seriously injured from the day before.

Tu Ran glanced over them; apart from the one she had kicked in the vital area, she didn’t recognize the other three from yesterday.

Xiao Jiu came up to her, “You’re here. Brother Xie is already downstairs.”

Tu Ran nodded and walked towards the storage room at the back, casually asking, “What’s up with those three people?”

Xiao Jiu was confused for a moment, not understanding which three people she meant, then realized, “After you left yesterday, Brother Xie called them to spar with him for a few moves and beat them up like this.”

Tu Ran raised her eyebrows. Xie Xu really was ruthless, not even sparing his own men.

Xiao Jiu pressed a mechanism, and the staircase to the underground training ground slowly appeared.

“Ha!”

Xiao Jiu shouted, and the lights all turned on.

“Miss Tu, please proceed,” Xiao Jiu said respectfully, making a gesture for her to go ahead.

Tu Ran descended the staircase. She remembered how Xie Xu had sent people to ambush her secretly yesterday, so she remained vigilant.

After walking down the stairs for about eight or nine minutes without encountering any ambush, she reached the lowest level and saw Xie Xu standing on the platform waiting for her.

Tu Ran pursed her lips awkwardly.

She had overthought it.

Xie Xu waved her over.

For a moment, Tu Ran felt as if she was about to sacrifice herself heroically.

She put down her backpack, took off her mask and sunglasses, and stepped onto the platform.

“I heard you killed Lu Huaiwei from the Executive Department today?” Xie Xu asked expressionlessly.

News traveled fast.

Tu Ran nodded to confirm.

“His close combat skills were outstanding among the guards. How did you handle him?”

“As you taught me, I found different breakthrough points based on the enemy’s strengths and weaknesses. Lu Huaiwei was burly and extremely strong, which made him clumsier and slower to react compared to me. As long as I was quicker and more agile, avoiding his grasp, defeating him wasn’t difficult,” Tu Ran explained earnestly.

“And if your enemy was me, what strategy would you use?” Xie Xu asked, staring at her.

Tu Ran was silent for a moment, looking at him calmly, and then said, “I would kill you before you became my enemy.”

At present, Xie Xu was stronger than she was. She would try to avoid becoming his enemy. If it reached an irretrievable point and she was still weaker, she would use every underhanded trick to deal with him.
