Developing Superpowers in Another World

Venomous Tongue

Chapter 77 – Venomous Tongue

Underground.

Xie Xu had already come down from the suspended room in mid-air.

Tu Ran rubbed her shoulder and asked, “Is this what you meant by training me?”

Xie Xu neither agreed nor disagreed and instead asked, “Did you learn all these recently?”

“Half and half. Some I practiced in Reigaken State, and some rely on muscle memory.”

The original owner’s muscle memory.

“Your learning ability is quite good,” Xie Xu acknowledged her abilities.

“So, what will you teach me next?”

“Get on the ring and spar with me,” Xie Xu said, heading towards the ring.

Spar again?

She had just exhausted so much energy and hadn’t recovered yet.

Moreover, her shoulder hurt, and her face hurt too.

“Not going to rest for a bit?”

“No need, I just want to share some tips with you.”

“Oh.”

This seemed acceptable, so Tu Ran gladly got on the ring.

Then, she realized she had been tricked.

Xie Xu’s so-called sharing tips involved sharing fists.

A punch landed on the unharmed side of her face.

Tu Ran spat out a mouthful of thick blood.

“Your reaction speed is too slow. When a fist comes, you still meet it with your face. Are you afraid your face won’t be symmetrical?”

Tu Ran was so enraged by his venomous tongue that she felt like spitting blood again.

Next round.

An elbow struck her spine.

Tu Ran knelt down with a thud.

Very cleanly and decisively.

Her back was burning with pain.

Xie Xu coldly commented, “Do you think your spine is harder than my elbow? You could have blocked my attack with your arm!”

Tu Ran: “…”

She hadn’t meant to expose her back; she was trying to turn and dodge! She just hadn’t expected him to be so fast.

Serves her right!

Struggling to stand, she prepared for the next round.

A kick landed on her chest.

Tu Ran flew like a ragdoll, then was stopped by the ropes at the edge of the ring, bouncing back and landing on the ground.

Those who had been beaten by Tu Ran but weren’t seriously injured and stayed to watch were thrilled by this scene.

Finally, Brother Xie avenged them!

Weren’t you arrogant? Keep being arrogant if you can.

Tu Ran was too exhausted to stand.

Xie Xu’s voice echoed, “Get up and continue.”

Tu Ran shook her head, “I can’t, I’m exhausted.”

She felt pain all over, like she had been repeatedly run over by a car, with every bone in her body crushed.

Xie Xu walked over, looking down at her from above, “This is only three rounds. At this rate, when will you be able to train properly?”

Tu Ran, giving up, shook her head, “I really can’t. Let me rest for ten minutes.”

Saying this, she lay down and closed her eyes.

Xie Xu was shocked by her actions, his brows furrowing deeply. He hadn’t expected Tu Ran to have such little perseverance.

The others watching from below the ring were also stunned by her behavior.

Lying down just like that?! So bold?!

Was she not taking Brother Xie seriously at all?

They could clearly sense the low pressure emanating from Brother Xie, and feared he might lose control.

After lying down for less than two minutes, Tu Ran suddenly jerked awake and quickly climbed back onto the ring.

In that brief moment, she had seen herself being brutally beaten by Xie Xu.

Nose bleeding, face black and blue, ribs fractured, carried to the clinic.

If she continued to lie down, that would be her fate.

“Researcher Xie, I’m rested, let’s continue.” Tu Ran forced an ugly smile, her attitude completely different from before, showing no trace of arrogance.
