Developing Superpowers in Another World

Ruthless

Chapter 76 – Ruthless

With this strategy, she gradually knocked down every single one of them.

The underground space was filled with the sounds of groans and wails.

Tu Ran sincerely apologized to them.

She even tried to help a man she had kicked in the knee, who couldn’t stand up.

But as she approached, he shouted for her to stay away, using his hands to crawl backward.

Was she that terrifying?

Tu Ran touched her face.

She winced in pain as her fingers brushed over the cheek where she had been punched.

She lifted her communicator, using the screen as a mirror, and saw that the left side of her face was completely swollen, with a hint of purplish bruising. She gingerly licked the inside of her cheek with her tongue, causing a painful spasm through her body.

Damn, that hurt!

The more seriously injured from the fight were gradually being carried to the clinic above.

Xiao Jiu stood by the hidden passage, watching the continuous stream of injured people being carried up, feeling disheartened.

With so many people, how long would it take him to treat them all?

He had initially thought it would be Tu Ran being carried up, but to his surprise, it was all his own people.

He couldn’t help but scoff, “Weren’t you all complaining this morning that it was overkill for Brother Xie to call you here to deal with one woman? And now look at you, getting beaten like this and still having the nerve to cry out in pain. How embarrassing!”

One of them retorted, “Why don’t you go try it? She’d break you in one kick!”

“I’m a doctor, not a fighter. If I had muscles like you, I wouldn’t be getting beaten up by a woman!” Xiao Jiu sneered.

Seeing them annoyed him. He could have spent the afternoon playing on his computer and looking at pretty girls, but because of them, he now had to run around treating their injuries.

“She’s not even human! I’ve never seen such a ruthless woman. She knows exactly where to hit to cause the most pain. My arm was dislocated last time and hadn’t fully healed, and now she yanked it out again. Hey, Xiao Jiu, check my arm first to see if it’s fixable.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Xiao Jiu replied, exasperated as he walked over, mumbling to himself, “If it’s not fixable, I’ll give you a mechanical arm. It’ll be sturdier than your original.”

“Hey, Xiao Jiu, check me first! He only has a broken arm, he won’t die. Look at my mechanical skull, I think it’s cracked. I feel like it’s short-circuiting.”

“That’s definitely just your imagination,” Xiao Jiu replied dismissively. “The mechanical skulls I install don’t crack that easily.”

“Xiao Jiu, Xiao Jiu, look at me first. I got kicked here… see if it’s salvageable.”

Xiao Jiu was preparing some medication, not even turning his head. “Everything’s fixable. Whatever’s broken, I can replace it with mechanical parts.”

“But… but I’ve never heard of replacing this part,” the man said uncertainly.

Xiao Jiu turned and glared at him, marching over. “Let me see what’s broken. I don’t believe there’s anything I can’t replace.”

“Here,” the man said.

“Where?” Xiao Jiu asked, his tone growing more forceful as he scrutinized the man from head to toe. “Your limbs are intact, and your head’s fine.”

“Here…” the man said cautiously, pointing hesitantly.

Xiao Jiu: “…”

Xiao Jiu: “Alright, it seems you’re in urgent need. I’ll treat you first.”

Man: “Xiao Jiu, your expression is making me feel a bit nervous…”
