Chapter 62 – Useless Superpower
‘What is going on?’
Could it be… could it be because she had eaten that chicken monster’s inner core?
If that were the case, did that chicken monster’s superpower make everything taste delicious?
Tu Ran imagined the scene of the chicken monster eating human innards.
She started to believe that this superpower might indeed have that effect.
It was truly a superpower that left her at a loss for words.
If you called this ability useless, it did make her appetite increase, indirectly improving her health. If you called it useful, it seemed that the enjoyment of food didn’t really help her survival much.
Especially when compared to the Hook Snake’s superpower, it was worlds apart.
But a superpower was still a superpower; having one was better than none. Tu Ran happily finished the rest of her meal.
After cleaning up the dishes, Tu Ran headed to the Federal Center.
According to her memories, the Federal Center had training grounds specifically for various personnel.
She needed to practice her shooting.
Her accuracy needed improvement.
She took the hover rail and got off at the Administrative Building station.
Following the route in her memory, she arrived at the training ground.
This training ground occupied three floors of the Federal Administrative Building.
Most of the federal government staff had to go out on duty.
Whenever they went out, they encountered all sorts of dangers: gang fights, extreme protest groups, and even roaming vagrants. Many people harbored great hostility toward the Federal Government, and these Federal workers became their targets.
Therefore, most Federal staff regularly trained at the training ground.
Among them, the guards and pioneers of the Executive Department were frequent visitors.
In the locker room, Tu Ran changed into her training clothes and, following the map’s directions, arrived at the shooting range to practice.
She started with the handgun.
Putting on her safety glasses, she stood at the designated spot and aimed at the target for shooting practice.
Currently, she could hit the target with every shot, but none of them hit the bullseye.
The bullets were randomly dispersed on the target, evenly distributed.
This was the current state of her shooting skills.
Reloading, Tu Ran began a new round of shooting.
“Bang, bang, bang… bang, bang… bang…”
The recoil made her arms tingle, and Tu Ran struggled to keep her arms steady.
She emptied the entire magazine.
Still, none of the shots hit the bullseye.
What’s going on?
Tu Ran recalled the knowledge about shooting accuracy from her memories.
Keep the arm steady, focus on the target, don’t overthink, just shoot directly.
By all rights, she had followed the original owner’s method precisely, so why was she still not accurate?
While she was fretting, a voice interrupted her thoughts.
“You’ve never been accurate with your shooting, whether in the past or now.”
Tu Ran looked over to see Xie Xu standing two lanes away. He was also wearing training clothes and safety glasses, loading his handgun.
So, the original owner had never been accurate?
Tu Ran recalled that she had never seen a memory where the original owner hit the bullseye.
The original owner’s shooting strategy had always been: overwhelm with quantity.
Accuracy didn’t matter; as long as she fired enough bullets, some would inevitably hit vital points.
This was why the original owner preferred using machine guns.
After loading, Xie Xu aimed at the target, his handgun and arm forming a perfectly straight horizontal line, and pulled the trigger.
“Bang!”
With a single shot, Tu Ran glanced at his target—bullseye.
