A Fragment of the Order Cube Presented by the Wuma Star

Chapter 377 – A Fragment of the Order Cube Presented by the Wuma Star

It was hard to tell whether the leader of the Green-eyed Tribe was satisfied with this treasure, but it was quite obvious that the leader of the Red Crown Tribe was not happy with it.

There was a competitive relationship between the three major tribes, with one rising as the other declined.

The leader of the Red Crown Tribe knew that this crystal would strengthen the Green-eyed Tribe even further. His voice carried a hint of bitterness, “I was wondering why you cared so much about these insects. Turns out that place is a treasure trove. Heh, hundreds of light years away, and you can still see what’s in the insect nest with your eyes. The worlds I asked you to find last time, you still haven’t told me their whereabouts!”

Between them was Hache Bulu, and the leader of the Green-eyed Tribe leaned forward slightly, resting his head on his hand. He looked at the leader of the Red Crown Tribe with a sarcastic tone, “It’s useless to rush me. Hache Bulu always has to go before you. I have to finish his business before I can deal with yours. What can I do? Our Green-eyed Tribe can’t afford to be isolated again.”

The Red Crown leader didn’t even glance at Hache Bulu in the middle. He turned his face away and directed his gaze toward the audience below, letting out an unhappy “tsk.” Everyone understood exactly who he was annoyed with.

After the representative of the Chushi Tribe finished his speech, the second representative stepped forward. He introduced his world first: “The Skywing Tribe, ruling time of 343,511 years. We signed an agreement with the Rulers World’s representative, the Red Crown Tribe, and voluntarily became a subordinate world of the rulers. In return, the Rulers World will provide us, the Skywing Tribe, with eternal peace, stability, and wealth.”

Tu Ran quietly watched as one representative after another stepped forward. With the calmest tone, they spoke of their worlds being occupied, and with the most humble demeanor, they handed over their world’s treasures to their enemies.

The last one to step forward was the previous ruler of Border City—Wuma Fenghua.

She slowly stood up, adjusted the elegant folds of her gown, and took a palm-sized box from Tu Ran’s hands. Cradling it with both hands, she walked gracefully toward the center of the hall.

She stopped and looked up at Hache Bulu, who was seated at the very front of the venue. Her blood-red nails gently tapped on the wooden box’s lid, the intricate carvings producing a dull sound, and an eerie, dangerous aura surrounded her skirt.

“Wuma Star, ruling time of 300,000 years. We have signed an agreement with the representative of the Rulers World, Bulu Sanda Tribe, voluntarily becoming a subordinate world of the rulers. In return, the Rulers World will provide us, Wuma Star, with eternal peace, stability, and wealth.”

Her red, vibrant lips parted and closed. “Today, the tribute from Wuma Star is one fragment of the Order Cube.”

The box was opened, and the fragment was revealed to the crowd.

“What is the Order Cube?”

Tu Ran overheard murmurs from those around her.

“I’ve never heard of it…”

“The Order Cube, a sacred artifact of the S•Erso world, can cause the collapse of cosmic order, connecting originally unrelated worlds, and opening up pathways between them.”

Wuma Fenghua’s gaze fell on the representative who had raised the earlier question. She had heard the doubt, so she deliberately raised her voice to explain to the person, and to everyone else who was unaware.

“We are all able to gather here today to participate in this tribute ceremony thanks to the Order Cube.”

The representatives in the hall were the best of the best, carefully selected from each world. Upon hearing this, they had a general idea of what was going on.

Their worlds had been discovered and occupied by the rulers, not by chance, but by the rulers’ long-planned strategy.

Wuma Fenghua’s gaze swept across the room before finally landing on Hache Bulu. She flashed her signature smile. “The Order Cube has eight fragments. Leader Hache has already collected seven, and the eighth piece, which you couldn’t find, we, Wuma Star, have brought it to you.”

Hache Bulu’s expression didn’t change in the slightest, as if he hadn’t noticed Wuma Fenghua’s attempt to provoke the other worlds. He waved his hand, and one of his subordinates rushed forward, taking the box from Wuma Fenghua and handing it to him.

He picked up the fragment from the box and examined it, holding it in his palm. Slowly, he closed his eyes, seemingly feeling whether the fragment was real or not. After a few minutes, he opened his light blue eyes and spoke the first words Tu Ran had ever heard from him:

“For ten thousand years, Wuma Star has always been the most loyal world to the rulers. So this year’s City Lord, as always, will be entrusted to you.”

His deep, hoarse voice carried the heavy presence of one in power.

The leader of the Green-eyed Tribe and the leader of the Red Crown Tribe had been staring at the fragment in Hache Bulu’s hand, their faces dark with displeasure. They both knew what it meant to collect all the fragments of the Order Cube.

Hache Bulu would grow even stronger, and the Bulu Sanda Tribe would grow even more powerful.

The balance of power among the three major ruling tribes would be broken, and they would be further crushed under the foot of the Bulu Sanda Tribe.

And Hache Bulu’s casual announcement of the next city lord was so arbitrary, without any consultation with them, as though they weren’t even worth considering.

The other representatives from the hundreds of other worlds present shared the same sense of bitterness.

At that moment, their hatred for Wuma Star reached its peak.

In the past, they might have praised Wuma Star for being politically astute, for opening a path for future generations, for prioritizing the bigger picture, and for enduring hardship.

But now, Wuma Fenghua personally handed over a fragment of the treasure that had led all their worlds to this fate to Hache Bulu.

It was like they had all thought they were suffering in silence under the rulers’ control, bearing the weight of their humiliation. But in this moment, Wuma Star made it clear with its actions—no, Wuma Star wasn’t just enduring; they were wholeheartedly following the rulers.

Traitors! Lackeys! All the dirty words flashed in their eyes.

Amidst the surging tide of emotions, Wuma Fenghua stood tall in her extravagant attire, back straight, looking at Hache Bulu. “Then, please, Leader Hache, consume it now and absorb its energy.”

Her words were so blunt that her true intentions were almost immediately clear.

The leader of the Red Crown Tribe couldn’t hide his surprise: “Has she gone mad? Or has Wuma Star gone mad?”

The leader of the Green-eyed Tribe didn’t care about those words. What mattered to him was how he could make things more difficult for Hache Bulu.

“Such a pity, it seems the world that Leader Hache trusts and favors the most is about to betray him. If you ask me, these inferior worlds should have been destroyed from the very beginning. Why keep them around for so long—”

His voice suddenly faltered, and he looked horrified, clutching his throat as he began to cough violently. A damp ball of paper was pulled out from his throat.

The paper ball fell to the ground, rolling a few times before miraculously unfolding into a small paper figure. The paper figure pressed its body flat against the ground, melted into it, and disappeared.

“Hache Bulu, you’ve gone too far!” The leader of the Green-eyed Tribe slammed the table, his teeth gritted in fury.

The leader of the Red Crown Tribe merely watched the scene unfold with interest.

Hache Bulu completely ignored him, stood up, and looked down at Wuma Fenghua. “The honorable City Lord of Border City, the future ruler of Wuma Star, has actually been brainwashed by a human from an inferior world.”
