Chapter 360 – Escape
Tu Ran stood behind the metal jar, facing the door.
She concealed her presence, quietly waiting for the “template” that was about to walk right into her hands.
As she had anticipated, the newly arrived green-eyed creature searched every shop, one by one.
The first green-eyed being to enter Tu Ran’s shop did not notice her standing directly in front of him.
His gaze swept over the concealed Tu Ran, then shifted elsewhere.
Tu Ran focused on his back, noticing that he was alone—no other green-eyed beings had followed him inside.
A slight smile curved at the corners of her lips as she silently moved toward him.
Standing directly in front of him, her gaze fixed on him, Tu Ran suddenly revealed herself.
The green-eyed being’s pupils rapidly contracted into vertical slits. He raised his hand, preparing to attack Tu Ran.
“Mirror image!!”
The reflection in his eyes turned into his own image.
In the next moment, a steel fork plunged into his side neck, pulled out ruthlessly, and his body silently collapsed into a pool of blood.
Tu Ran bent down to remove the steel fork, grabbed his arms, and dragged him into the corner, hiding her figure behind the metal jar.
She wiped the blood off the fork using his clothes, then adjusted her attire in the reflection of the metal jar. Tu Ran walked out of the shop with confidence.
“Anything?” a green-eyed being walked out from a shop across the street and made eye contact with her, asking aloud.
“Nothing,” Tu Ran replied in their language, her expression unreadable, showing no sign of having just killed the original owner of the body template she now wore.
“Nothing here either.”
After exchanging information, the two of them walked in unison to the next shop.
Tu Ran’s only thought was to get away, and she was just going through the motions of searching the shop without actually paying attention. Her mind was focused on how to leave without raising suspicion from the green-eyed being across from her.
Should she kill him too?
After all, no one else was paying attention to the two of them.
But that would carry some risk.
She didn’t have her abilities at the moment.
Moreover, Tu Ran had waved her fingers through the air several times without seeing any rings of light, which indicated that this body hadn’t been evolved.
A green-eyed being that hadn’t evolved was nothing more than trash.
When they met again, Tu Ran and the other person exchanged the same simple words they had repeated countless times before.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing here either.”
…
The entire street was almost searched, and Tu Ran still hadn’t found a suitable escape method.
She had no choice but to follow the main group obediently.
The rats of the other world disappeared without a trace, and the five orange-eyed leaders were furious.
After some discussion, they decided to reinforce their forces, increase the area’s security, and conduct a carpet-style search of the nearby area.
Tu Ran, who was assigned to operate a small flying craft for the search mission: This is truly heaven helping me.
She suppressed the excitement in her eyes and calmly boarded the craft.
Sitting in the pilot’s seat, she looked at the control panel in front of her, her fingers hovering over the red button closest to her.
Like the countless other small flying crafts parked neatly on the ground, the one Tu Ran was in ascended steadily.
She recognized the characters on the control panel, and since this small flying craft’s interface was similar to the hovercar panels used by the Federation, she was able to operate it fairly smoothly.
The small flying craft, suspended in the air, received commands from the orange-eyed leaders and began to fly off in various directions.
Tu Ran slowly closed her eyes, recalling the direction of the boundary point she had seen with her [Sense of Direction] before transforming. Her fingers slid across the control panel, heading in that direction.
At this point, she hadn’t yet flown out of the area designated by the orange-eyed leaders, so her craft’s trajectory hadn’t drawn any attention. However, once she crossed this boundary, it would certainly raise suspicions.
Therefore, in these brief minutes, she needed to master the operation of the craft and explore its other functions. This would increase her chances of successfully escaping when pursued.
Tu Ran committed every detail of the control panel to memory.
Ahead of her was the area defined by the orange-eyed leaders.
Under the blood-red night, Tu Ran pressed her lips tightly together, her jaw set. Her finger pressed down on the acceleration button.
The craft shot forward like an arrow released from a bow, disappearing into the sky in the blink of an eye, immediately drawing the attention of the orange-eyed leaders.
“Chase! The rat may be hiding there!”
