Developing Superpowers in Another World

Pyramid Formation

Chapter 358 – Pyramid Formation

The mecha’s joints were repeatedly bombarded, causing them to loosen. The evolved green-eyed warriors saw this and a dark green light flickered in their eyes. They became even more energized, and the surrounding green-eyed warriors instinctively protected them in the center.

Tu Ran, who had already been close to the joint, lowered her gaze, gathering all her emotions and focusing. When she raised her head again, her eyes were covered with a layer of cold, indifferent green.

If she remembered correctly, the advanced mecha shells created by the Haenden star system all had an automatic cleaning function. This function used electrical currents to clean the mecha’s exterior, ensuring that the mecha always remained in pristine condition.

Since the joint was being continuously damaged, Tang Ying inside the mecha must have already noticed the anomaly.

It was not a place to stay for long.

Tu Ran quietly stepped back a few paces to the edge of the mecha’s foot and observed the nearby shops.

Fifty meters away, there was a shop with a fabric canopy overhead.

Tu Ran immediately chose it as her landing spot.

She had a fair understanding of Tang Ying’s mecha, estimating that the next landing spot would be near that shop.

Tu Ran waited for the right moment, and the instant the mecha’s foot came down, she pushed off the ground, launching herself outward.

Her body spread in a “V” shape to increase resistance, and she used the shop’s canopy as a buffer point, crashing through it and bringing the entire canopy down to the ground.

Tu Ran poked her head out from the pile of fabric.

Struggling beneath the fabric were some of the green-eyed warriors who had been hiding below. They hadn’t expected the canopy to suddenly collapse.

Tu Ran quickly cleared the fabric off her body, stood up, and looked in the direction the mecha had gone.

The mecha’s left foot emitted a series of “crackling” sparks as it swung up, swatting the green-eyed warriors off the raised foot like flies. Dozens of green-eyed warriors fell from the mecha’s raised left foot.

They were completely unresponsive, their bodies stiffened. As they fell to the ground, the impact was so immense that they shattered like ceramic dolls, their limbs scattering in all directions.

The scene was gruesome.

Tu Ran was thankful she had jumped quickly, or she would have met the same fate.

“Leader! The leader has appeared!”

Immediately, like all the other green-eyed warriors, Tu Ran looked toward the location of the mech.

Orange eyes.

Five of them!

They wore identical clothing and floated in mid-air, standing on orange runes beneath their feet. Their clothes billowed in the wind, one hand behind their back while the other wrote incantations. Tang Ying’s blood-red mecha was surrounded in the center.

Five orange-eyed leaders: one stood atop the mecha, while the other four hovered close to the ground, each taking a position at the front, back, left, and right of the mecha, overlapping with the five corners of a pyramid.

Together, they cast a spell. A golden light curtain rapidly spread from their palms, gradually connecting to form four surfaces, enveloping the mecha in the center.

Tang Ying glanced around at the light curtains and swung her fist at the orange-eyed leader above her.

Because the pyramid was narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, her fist inevitably collided with the golden light curtain.

A hissing sound suddenly rang out as the part of the mecha that extended beyond the golden light curtain was instantly corroded into dust.

Tang Ying’s surprised gaze followed the fallen pinky and ring fingers of the mecha’s right hand, which had lost its joint connection.

The nameless orange-eyed leader once again gathered the pyramid.

There was little room left for Tang Ying.

If she stayed inside the mecha any longer, the result would be the death of both the mecha and herself.

The optimal solution was to retract the mecha while it was still not severely damaged. The bottom of the pyramid did not completely touch the ground, leaving enough space for a human to escape.

Tang Ying was a smart person. She quickly realized this method as well. Having fought with mechas for the first twenty years of her life, she valued them greatly. Without hesitation, she retracted the mecha before it could sustain any further damage.

She landed on the ground and immediately ran toward the nearest street.

Because of the sudden appearance of the gate, the surrounding forces had gathered at the intersection, leaving fewer green-eyed warriors in this area. Additionally, with five orange-eyed leaders casting spells, the green-eyed warriors instinctively kept their distance.

As Tang Ying entered the narrow alley, a figure suddenly appeared behind her and covered her mouth.

Tang Ying immediately bent her elbow and slammed it backward.

“I’m Tu Ran!”

Tang Ying froze for a moment.

Taking advantage of the pause, Tu Ran pulled her into a small shop at the corner of the street.

This shop was the type Tu Ran had seen earlier, where many green-eyed warriors were lined up.

Upon entering, they were immediately greeted by several large metal tanks, each with a diameter so large that they almost filled the entire space inside the shop. The gaps between them were narrow, and one had to squeeze sideways to get through.

Tu Ran let go of Tang Ying, bent down, and peeked under the empty bottom of the metal tanks to see if any green-eyed warriors were hiding inside.

There were none. Relieved, she grabbed Tang Ying’s hand and led her further in.

Tang Ying followed closely, her gaze moving from Tu Ran’s hand to her side profile. Only when they reached the farthest corner of the shop did she ask, “What’s going on?”

At the front of the shop, there was a window. The pipes connected to the metal tanks extended outside through the window. Tu Ran didn’t answer, instead pressing her body against the wall next to the window, cautiously peering out through the small gap.

The five orange-eyed leaders and a large group of green-eyed warriors were searching every shop for people. They would soon reach this one.

“You stay here,” Tu Ran glanced at Tang Ying and squeezed her way out.

“Drip, drip…”

As Tu Ran pressed against the metal tank and squeezed out, the sound of liquid dripping reverberated through the metal wall and reached her ears.

Tu Ran immediately looked down. A pipe at the bottom of the tank was leaking a thick, green liquid.

It looked familiar.

Tu Ran quickly squeezed out, bent down, and got closer. Several drops of green liquid had appeared on the floor. She dipped her finger in, rubbed it between her thumb and finger, and pulled out a string.

The blood of the Ruler species!

Tu Ran remembered the green-eyed warriors who had been queuing in front of this kind of shop. While in line, they had appeared lethargic, hunching over, but after leaving, they were full of energy and had been clutching their arms.

So, they were machines after all?!

Was this green liquid their power source?

The footsteps outside were getting closer.

Tu Ran quickly glanced through the window gap, and an idea popped into her mind.

She hurriedly found a discarded steel fork on the ground and used its sharp end to jab at the spot where the tank was leaking. The small hole immediately widened, and green liquid began to pour out in streams.

Tu Ran smeared the liquid all over her face and body with both hands.

Tang Ying, crouching in the corner, watched this through the gap and thought… Well, Tu Ran must have her reasons for doing this.

Once she had smeared enough, Tu Ran looked up at the reflection on the surface of the metal tank.

The result was horrifying.

She was quite satisfied.

Just as the footsteps reached right outside, Tu Ran crawled her way out, leaving a long trail of blood behind her.

Suddenly, about twenty pairs of feet appeared before her. Tu Ran paused for a moment, slowly raising her “bloodied” face, letting a hint of excitement at seeing a savior show in her eyes. She lifted her hand, also smeared with blood, trembling as she pointed further down the street.

“The rat…escaped… over there…”
