Chapter 320 – The Arrival of the Alien Beast
Tu Ran’s life had briefly returned to a period of calm.
Until one night, when her door was knocked on urgently.
Tu Ran immediately woke up, jumping out of bed to answer the door.
It was Yu Boming, standing with a group of well-equipped subordinates behind him. They were all facing away from her, except for Yu Boming, who was looking directly at her with a serious expression. “The gate at Xiquan was suddenly attacked by a monster. We suspect it’s an alien species. We can’t handle it and need your help.”
As soon as Yu Boming finished saying “alien species,” Tu Ran turned around and returned to her bedroom. She changed out of her pajamas, casually tied her hair into a bun, and put on a set of all-black athletic wear.
Five minutes later, she appeared in front of Yu Boming.
“Let’s go.”
A special car was already waiting downstairs. As soon as Tu Ran got in, the car started moving.
Xiquan was two provinces away from the city she was currently in. After switching to a military helicopter halfway, they managed to arrive in two hours.
Upon entering Xiquan’s territory, Tu Ran leaned against the window, looking down. The once-thriving Xiquan had now fallen into complete darkness. The city’s night lights had vanished, and the lights of iconic buildings were all extinguished.
In the middle of this dark night, only the front of the helicopter was illuminated by a beam of light. This beam, shining from the helicopter above, attracted a giant creature on the ground, guiding it along the light’s path.
“They’re trying to lure the alien species out to the outskirts, away from the population,” Yu Boming explained.
However, Tu Ran’s gaze remained fixed on the monster, which was occasionally illuminated by the light. Her lips trembled slightly. “That’s not an alien species.”
“What?” Yu Boming looked at her back.
“That’s an alien beast, from the Haenden Star System,” Tu Ran turned around, her fingers gripping the edge of the seat tightly. “I’ve told you before, alien beasts are more powerful than alien species. Alien species can barely be killed with human weapons, but alien beasts can only be dealt with using mechas. Human weapons are nothing more than an itch to them.”
Yu Boming’s gaze grew serious as he glanced at the massive creature outside the window. They were close enough now to see the texture of its skin, cracked like dry, uneven land.
“We don’t have any mechas. What should we do?” His voice was faint, a sense of hopelessness rising from deep within him, the despair of facing a giant creature from another world.
Tu Ran slowly closed her eyes, sensing the position of the gate. After a long pause, she opened her eyes again, her expression grim. “The gate… is already closed.”
If the gate were open, she could lure the alien beast toward it and send it back to another world.
But now, the gate was closed.
Tu Ran fell silent, burying her face in her palms, leaning over her knees as her mind raced, trying to come up with a viable solution.
The only option now was to deal with the alien beast.
She could try [Illusion Realm].
She had never used [Illusion Realm] against an alien beast before, so she wasn’t sure if it would work.
[Mountain Collapse and Earth Crack] might shed a layer of skin off the alien beast at most, but it wouldn’t kill it instantly. In fact, it could enrage it, making it more ferocious and harder to control, resulting in even greater destruction.
She would have to assess the situation carefully.
As for the rest…
Tu Ran thought about her remaining abilities. She had nothing else that could effectively deal with the alien beast.
[Immense Strength] relied on the use of a mecha. The mecha, combined with mental power, could amplify the effect of [Immense Strength] by thousands of times. But without a mecha, she couldn’t even dislocate the beast’s arm.
The remaining [Teleportation] might assist her in using [Illusion Realm].
She wasn’t sure how effective [Blooming Flowers and Full Moon] would be against an alien beast, but she could try it later.
