Developing Superpowers in Another World

Want to Return to the First World?

Chapter 304 – Want to Return to the First World?

The person also doubted whether they had seen it wrong but held onto a bit of hope as they followed behind Li Wenchuan and Yao Bei, getting closer to the observation platform.

Standing in place, someone said, “I heard they’ve finished dealing with the alien beasts on Star 4344, and they’re coming back today.”

“Who said that? I haven’t heard anything.”

“The livestream,” the person said, projecting the original livestream page from their eyes into the middle of the group.

At that moment, the center of the livestream page displayed: “Looking forward to the next livestream.”

“Look, the livestream has ended. They’re back today. We’ve been so focused on training these past few days that we didn’t even know General Ye returned.”

At the same time, the person who had approached to look at Tu Ran earlier jogged back, their cheeks flushed with excitement. “It’s Tu Ran, it’s Tu Ran! She knows Li Wenchuan and Yao Bei. The three of them are talking.”

The crowd stirred with a mixture of small gasps, and they all took quick, eager steps toward the observation platform. With excitement, they wanted to see what the much-discussed Zuo Qinglong (Azure Dragon) looked like in real life after all the hype across the Haenden star system.

They didn’t dare get too close, though, despite their curiosity about why Tu Ran knew the newcomers Li Wenchuan and Yao Bei.

Standing at a moderate distance, they formed a small circle to avoid drawing attention, pretending to discuss something while secretly glancing with the corners of their eyes.

Of course, Tu Ran could sense the intense gazes of the people around her. Making sure they couldn’t hear her, she chose to ignore them and focused on Li Wenchuan and Yao Bei in front of her.

Although it had only been a little over a month since they had last met, so much had happened during that time. Now, looking at each other, it felt as though several years had passed.

Yao Bei’s first impression of Tu Ran was that she had become even more terrifying. The kind of terrifying that was unfathomable.

Tu Ran’s current strength was like an abyss; no one knew what level she had reached.

She had used all her strength to kill alien beasts, but Yao Bei didn’t think she was just killing them for the sake of killing.

She had known Tu Ran for five years and always considered her a rival, understanding Tu Ran’s actions and behavior well.

Perhaps Tu Ran’s personality had changed recently, shifting from being reserved and silent to becoming bold and flamboyant, but her approach to things had remained the same.

Purposefulness—everything had a purpose. Tu Ran would not exert herself to kill alien beasts just to impress the people of this world. If there was no benefit, she wouldn’t bother.

What that benefit was, Yao Bei didn’t know, but she was sure of one thing: Tu Ran had already gained an incredible amount from killing alien beasts on Star 4344.

Yao Bei thought of the inner cores.

Tu Ran was the first person to learn about the inner cores.

Before the news of the inner cores became public, no one knew how many Tu Ran had collected or how many abilities she had gained. It was definitely more than just immense strength and teleportation.

Nowadays, anyone who went into the Threshold to collect inner cores was essentially looking for Tu Ran to pick through the remaining ones.

Now, as Tu Ran fought to the fullest against the alien beasts, there must be a reason behind it, one that was just as important as collecting abilities.

Like Yao Bei, Li Wenchuan’s thoughts were swirling when he saw Tu Ran at that moment.

In comparison to them, Tu Ran appeared much more “pure.”

Still in the same relaxed posture, she said, “Well, if you’re all heading to Star 1169, are you not planning to return to the Federation?”

“The mechas are so much fun. What’s the point of going back to the Federation?” Li Wenchuan stepped up to the platform and sat down beside Tu Ran, adopting a similar posture to hers, his tone half-serious, half-joking.

Yao Bei stood still, not moving. “Star 1169 will also have ‘gates,’ so staying on the main star or going to Star 1169 doesn’t make much of a difference.”

“That’s true.” Tu Ran, looking up at Yao Bei standing in front of her, shifted her tone. “I think it’s fine here. Why don’t we just stay and not go back?”

Yao Bei bit her lip, staring at Tu Ran without saying anything.

Li Wenchuan, standing nearby, spoke with subtle intent, “You don’t want to go back to the First World?”

Tu Ran froze for a moment and quickly glanced at Yao Bei.

To her and Li Wenchuan, the First World referred to Blue Star, while to Yao Bei, it meant the Federation.

Yao Bei didn’t seem to notice anything unusual.

Tu Ran let out a quiet sigh of relief and turned her head toward Li Wenchuan, casually asking, “What happened in the First World after I left?”
