Developing Superpowers in Another World

Finally Encountering People

Chapter 3 – Finally Encountering People

Tu Ran ran fast, but still couldn’t avoid the flying pieces of meat that filled the sky, getting drenched from head to toe.

“Ugh—”

Tu Ran couldn’t help but dry heave. There was no intact spot left on her body, the sticky flesh and blood emitting a rotten smell mixed with the pungent odor of explosives.

She had no desire to look back now, only wishing to escape the scene quickly.

The ground was slippery, and she walked extremely carefully. Still, she accidentally stepped on something like a glass bead and slipped to the ground.

Flat on her back.

Tu Ran felt hopeless; why was she so unlucky?

Struggling to sit up, she looked towards the culprit.

The nail-sized bead was wrapped in flesh and blood. Due to her recent rubbing, it revealed a silver-white glow, making it distinguishable at a glance.

Tu Ran picked it up and wiped it clean with her sleeve, revealing its true appearance. It was as lustrous as a pearl, but emitted a silver-white light from within.

“Could chicken spirit also form stones?”

No one answered her question. Tu Ran sighed and threw the unknown bead into her pocket.

Take it, just in case it’s useful.

Although she tried to convince herself that everything in front of her was just a dream, the extremely real sensations of pain, smell, touch, and sight reminded her that this was not a simple dream. The magical and eerie scene, like a game environment, appeared in the real world.

Or rather, she had somehow crossed into an unreal, magical world.

Although it was hard to accept, Tu Ran quickly calmed herself down.

She had to leave this place quickly; the smell of blood here was too strong. If other heavy-tasting monsters smelled it and came, she would be in trouble.

Standing up, suppressing the urge to vomit, she quickly wiped off the filth from her face.

As she lifted her head, she suddenly met the gaze of a tall and straight man.

Ignoring the naked disdain and disgust in his eyes, Tu Ran was still very excited.

A person! She actually saw a person!

It seemed this world wasn’t entirely populated by monsters!

Tu Ran quickly walked towards him. As the distance between them shortened, she noticed a name tag on his left arm: Xie Xu.

His name was Xie Xu.

He took a step back and raised an arm, stopping her from coming any closer.

Tu Ran sensibly stopped in her tracks. She knew how wretched she looked right now—tattered clothes, reeking of filth, definitely not the most likable sight.

She tried to put on a friendly expression and was about to greet him when Xie Xu interrupted her.

“Your movements were too loud.”

His steady voice carried no emotion.

From the way he said it, it seemed he knew her.

Tu Ran felt a glimmer of joy and was about to ask him where they were when he turned and walked away.

So aloof, she thought to herself.

Never mind, she could ask later. For now, it was important to follow him out of here.

Tu Ran followed Xie Xu at a respectful distance, openly observing him.

She had to admit, his gear was very cool.

He looked like a protagonist from a sci-fi game, equipped with exoskeleton armor, a helmet, mechanical arms, night vision goggles, and other gear she couldn’t even identify.

Looking at him, then glancing down at herself, Tu Ran couldn’t help but feel that the few scraps of cloth she had left might have originally been similar to Xie Xu’s gear.

For instance, the bracelet on her wrist, which fit her perfectly. Let’s call it a bracelet for now; Tu Ran couldn’t identify the exact material. It was icy cold, seamless, and had a watery sheen to it.
