Developing Superpowers in Another World

Old Friends Watch the Live Stream

Chapter 290 – Old Friends Watch the Live Stream

Tu Ran listened silently.

She had developed some suspicions.

She had come to this world, so what about the others? Of course, they would also come to this world. The door to this world wasn’t open just for her alone.

Others wouldn’t integrate as quickly as she had. They couldn’t read the memories of others, nor did they understand the history of the galaxy.

After being captured by the arrest team and interrogated, they would definitely know nothing and reveal their identities without question. If the arrest team kept digging, eventually one or two people would slip up and reveal everything.

The arrest team would report upwards, and with Ye Hongci’s status, she would definitely be the first to hear about the arrival of people from another world.

Once Ye Hongci connected the dots, she would definitely suspect whether Tu Ran truly came from the Wasteland Star.

Without realizing it, Tu Ran had already slowed down by half a step compared to Ye Hongci.

Tu Ran raised her head, and Ye Hongci’s resolute profile fell into her eyes.

When had Ye Hongci found out she came from another world?

How much did she know? Did she know about the inner core and the abilities?

If she knew that Tu Ran was from another world, why had she still chosen her for the battlefield?

What did it mean now for her to say these things?

Was she trying to keep her?

With her mind full of thoughts, Tu Ran looked at Ye Hongci, hesitating about what to do next. Should she brainwash Ye Hongci too?

That approach was feasible.

Tu Ran raised her finger to her lips, about to bite down, when Ye Hongci suddenly turned her head. Tu Ran quickly pretended to scratch her nose.

“Almost time to rest, let’s continue,” Ye Hongci said, then walked back in the direction they had come from.

“Alright… alright,” Tu Ran whispered. She pulled her hand back and let it hang at her side, following Ye Hongci as they headed back.

For now, she decided to hold off on any action and see what Ye Hongci’s plans were.

Returning to the team, Tu Ran climbed back into the mecha cabin, and the mecha squad set off once again.

Through the drone’s footage, they could see that, about one hundred kilometers away, a group of alien beasts was slowly migrating in their direction.

The team headed toward the herd of beasts.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Haenden star system, at the main star…

In the prison.

Ding Naiqing, Yao Bei, Qi Tongda, Zhou Ming, and the newly arrived Li Wenchuan, along with a dozen others, were all brought into the viewing room.

Each person wore a black metal ring around their necks, which blinked a green light every two seconds.

They were seated far apart in the viewing room, with two armed guards stationed beside each person, always on alert for any movement.

The giant screen in the room displayed a live broadcast from the distant 4344 Star.

According to the orders from Ye Hongci, these humans from another world couldn’t just stay in the Haenden prison without contributing. They needed to be exposed to mechas. If their capabilities were sufficient, they would be sent to the battlefield.

The warden of the prison received this command, and after some thought, realized that these people didn’t even know what a mecha was. In order to teach them to operate one, they would first have to become familiar with mechas.

What could be more direct than watching real combat footage of mechas?

And just so happened that Ye Hongci was leading the troops in a live combat broadcast. Fortune was on his side. He immediately decided to let these people from another world watch the live stream of Ye Hongci in action.

And so, this scene unfolded.

“Beautiful!” Young Master Qi shouted excitedly as he saw a white mecha kick over an alien beast, then jump up and finish it off with a slash. His blood was boiling, and he couldn’t help but cheer, “That move was amazing!”

He couldn’t control his urge to jump up, but the two guards watching him pressed his shoulders firmly down and warned him with a sharp look.

Disappointed, Young Master Qi sat back down, his excitement instantly deflated. He glanced at the two guards out of the corner of his eye, pouting in displeasure.

“Hmph, if you weren’t holding guns, I’d definitely jump up and slide-kneel!”

But soon, his sinking excitement quickly surged back up.

In the live broadcast, the white mecha performed a stunning 360-degree spinning kick followed by a dazzling blade strike, throwing the alien beast hard and smashing its head into a mess of shattered flesh.
