Chapter 29 – Another Random Assignment
Tu Ran closed her eyes without hesitation. The helicopter’s roaring noise was loud, and even with her noise-canceling helmet on, she could still hear a faint sound. Unable to sleep, she began to organize the knowledge she had gathered over the past two days.
Half an hour quickly passed, and the helicopter slowly landed on a helipad. Eleven people gradually sorted out their equipment and disembarked.
Other helicopters had already arrived earlier and were neatly lined up on the ground.
The security forces from the Reigaken Branch of the Federal Government’s Executive Department were also fully equipped, waiting in the distance. Looking over, there was a dark mass of them.

The team was led by two people, one named Li Wenchuan and the other Xie Xu.

The other part was led by Li Wenchuan to capture the alien species.

The sound of communicators beeping rang out, and the options “Xie Xu” and “Li Wenchuan” appeared on everyone’s communicators.
Without a doubt, Tu Ran pressed the button for “Xie Xu.”
She naturally chose the option with the lowest risk.
Within seconds, everyone had made their choices.
The results were announced.
Seventy-six people chose to join Xie Xu’s team.
Tu Ran sighed inwardly, realizing that everyone was just as eager to avoid danger as she was; one more or less wouldn’t make a difference.
As she was thinking this, her wrist communicator vibrated twice.
Her heart skipped a beat as she looked down, seeing a glaring red “×” that was particularly conspicuous.

“The system randomly selects. Those who received the notification, follow me. Those who didn’t, follow Researcher Xie’s instructions.” Li Wenchuan’s face beamed with an uncontrollable smile, his reflective white teeth gleaming with arrogance.
He loved watching people who didn’t want to join his team but were forced by fate to do so, wearing expressions of deep resentment that amused him to no end.
Tu Ran was one of those deeply resentful people.
In the few seconds it took her to walk over to Li Wenchuan’s team, she began to doubt the reliability of this system’s random selection.
Twice it had been random, and twice it hadn’t gone her way. What kind of nonsense was this?!
Despite her internal grumbling, in reality, she still had to obediently follow Li Wenchuan.
It was now 3 PM.
Reigaken State, located in the northern part of the Federation’s forty-two states, didn’t have warm weather.
The team of eighty was divided into eight small squads, each with ten people.
Each squad was assigned fifty security officers from the Reigaken Branch of the Federal Government’s Executive Department.
Tu Ran was assigned to the fourth squad.
