The Goddess Strikes

Chapter 21 – The Goddess Strikes

So cool!!!

Tu Ran couldn’t help but admire her.

She really was a goddess, both beautiful and fierce.

However, looking at the burly man, Tu Ran worried that this situation might not end well.

Sure enough, the man, humiliated in public, wasn’t going to let it slide. He turned around and glared fiercely at Xi Chunzhi. “Xi Chunzhi! Are you sick?!”

Xi Chunzhi crossed her arms and sneered contemptuously, “Yes, I have a disease. I like dealing with dogs, especially those that can’t control their barking!”

The goddess was also skilled at insults.

Tu Ran no longer worried about her and quietly watched the drama unfold.

She noticed the name tag on the man’s arm.

Zhou Ming.

She didn’t know him.

But she did recognize the weapon he was holding. She had read about it in a book last night: a 7-series sniper rifle. It had been on the market for over 30 years, known for its accuracy and power. Even though sniper rifles had gone through numerous upgrades, this model remained a favorite among many snipers. However, it had one drawback—it weighed 7.5 kg, making it inconvenient for battlefield use.

Tu Ran then shifted her gaze to the weapons of the others accompanying Zhou Ming and noticed they each had different types of weapons. Zhou Ming was the only sniper, indicating this was a well-organized team with clearly defined roles.

Tu Ran had also learned a bit about this world’s operating mechanisms yesterday.

In this world, there were no countries. The Federal Government ruled everything.

The base of the Federal Government was this very land—the Administrative Building.

The administrative building was the headquarters for all Federal departments. For example, the Pioneer Squad, a department established in recent years, had its headquarters here. Similarly, the Research Institute’s headquarters was also located here.

The people working here were all government employees, enjoying a higher status and better social security than ordinary citizens.

For instance, the two apartments that she and Xi Chunzhi lived in, right across from each other, were gifted by the Federation after they became pioneers.

With their salaries alone, it would have taken forever to buy a place near the city center.

As long as they didn’t breach their contracts, those two apartments would be theirs in fifteen years.

The Federal Government was very generous to its civil servants.

Xi Chunzhi didn’t intend to keep tangling with Zhou Ming.

She threw out a parting remark, “If you’re not satisfied, we can find a time to settle this. Right now, I have important matters to attend to, and you can’t afford to delay me.”

With that, she grabbed Tu Ran’s arm and walked into the elevator without looking back.

“What’s so great about being a damn pioneer?!”

Before the elevator doors closed, Tu Ran heard Zhou Ming angrily shouting this.

She figured that Zhou Ming and Xi Chunzhi must have known each other before, given the intense resentment between them, which seemed more than just a reaction to a teasing whistle.

Tu Ran knew better than to be curious now, as she sensed the cold aura emanating from Xi Chunzhi.

She considered pressing the floor button herself but couldn’t find any, and she didn’t know which floor to go to.

Just as she was feeling anxious, the elevator automatically started moving.

The mechanical voice of the AI came from a corner, “Pioneer Xi Chunzhi, Pioneer Tu Ran, Conference Room 721 is now open. All Pioneer Squad members have arrived. Please hurry.”

It turned out that AI fully controlled the administrative building’s elevator, capable of adjusting the destination floor based on the personnel’s schedules.
