Developing Superpowers in Another World

[Blooming Flowers and Full Moon]

Chapter 155 – [Blooming Flowers and Full Moon]

The bushes had bloomed with many flowers, in a variety of colors and shapes, with hardly any two alike.

This was the most vibrant scene Tu Ran had seen inside the Threshold, except for the time she was bewildered by the hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The light screen introduced this special ability.

[Blooming Flowers and Full Moon]
[Introduction: Want to bloom beautiful flowers anytime, anywhere? If so, this superpower is worth having.
Level: Primary]

Tu Ran stopped her steps as she ventured deeper into the bushes.

Is that it?

Blooming flowers anytime, anywhere?

Is this even considered a superpower? What use would she have for this superpower?! Selling the flowers she grows?

But since she had seen it, she couldn’t just leave it behind.

Although it seemed to be just a primary-level superpower, the light screen had previously mentioned that by accumulating enough primary-level superpowers, one could choose one to advance to an intermediate-level superpower.

But it hadn’t specified how much accumulation was needed.

Though this superpower appeared to be of little use on the surface, it could help her upgrade other abilities.

Tu Ran took a few more steps forward and grabbed a wooden branch casually.

After pausing for three seconds, Tu Ran used [Memory Reading] to locate the inner core.

She used her long knife to clear away the dense bush branches, poked the soil at the root, and found a glowing inner core.

Tu Ran bent down to pick it up, wiped off the dirt, and ate it.

In her mind, the light screen explained this superpower, which was no different from what she had seen before.

Tu Ran emerged from the bushes, and Pangpang stood there, stunned, looking at her in confusion.

It didn’t have the superpower to identify alien species, so Pangpang didn’t know about the inner core in the bushes. It only saw that the boss suddenly dived into such a beautiful bush, dug around in the soil, and then ate something unknown.

Based on its experience, it thought that only bugs could be found in the roots of bushes.

“Boss, are you eating worms? I thought you didn’t eat worms?” Pangpang asked uncertainly, with the tips of its wings in its mouth.

Tu Ran was startled. “What worms? What are you talking about?”

She suddenly realized and quickly emphasized, “How could I be eating worms? What I just ate was an inner core! An inner core!”

Saying that, she raised her finger to show Pangpang the newly acquired superpower.

She mentally recited “Blooming Flowers and Full Moon.”

In an instant, a light pink bud sprouted from the tip of her index finger, which then bloomed into a layered, pink flower.

Pangpang stared at Tu Ran’s finger in disbelief. “Boss… Boss can grow beautiful flowers now!”

Tu Ran closed her finger, crushing the flower into the ground. “Not just me, you can too.”

With that, Tu Ran activated [Flourishing Flowers and Full Moon] again and placed a blooming spot on Pangpang’s head.

Immediately, a head full of colorful flowers began to bloom, vying to open on Pangpang’s feathers.

It looked as if it was wearing a crown made of countless flowers.

Pangpang’s small eyes strained to look up but could only see a little bit of the flower colors and couldn’t make out much.

It anxiously said, “Boss, Boss, help me! Pangpang can’t see what I look like now.”

“Alright.”

Tu Ran drew the sword she carried with her. The smooth blade acted like a mirror, revealing Pangpang’s current appearance.

Pangpang was stunned, staring at its reflection in the blade. Its tail flared with joy, spinning in circles on the spot while carefully protecting the flowers on its head, afraid they might fall off.

It looked like a little girl wearing a beautiful dress.

Tu Ran looked at the flowers blooming on its head and suddenly had an idea.

Did the flowers have to bloom on the surface?

Couldn’t they bloom internally?

For example, inside a living organism.

If they could grow from internal organs, wouldn’t this superpower be a powerful tool for attacking from a distance?

Tu Ran had an epiphany.

She quickly pulled up the panel in her mind to check if this ability was an attack or support type.

In the corner of the light screen, five green words glowed.

[Attack Ability]

Tu Ran: It really is an attack ability!

Her previous dismissiveness about this superpower vanished in an instant.

Such a potential superpower, and she had actually hesitated about whether to take it.

She almost missed it.

It was all because the panel’s introduction of this superpower was too misleading.

[Want to bloom beautiful flowers anytime, anywhere? If so, this superpower is worth having.]

The introduction focused only on the superficial aspects of the superpower, completely overlooking its combat value.

Although “anytime, anywhere” hinted at its potential, most people would probably not think of growing flowers inside an enemy’s body.

She was extremely fortunate not to have left because the superpower seemed too useless.

“Stop showing off, let’s keep moving,” Tu Ran said with a good mood.

Pangpang immediately trotted along behind her.

As they continued on, Tu Ran encountered several more superpowers.

They were all inconspicuous and seemed quite useless.

For example, during dinner time, Pangpang had caught a pile of grubs and was nibbling on them with its wings. Tu Ran glanced over casually and saw a light screen above the wriggling grubs.

[Perfect Figure]
[Introduction: Do you want to have the most perfect body? This inner core will make your wish come true. By eating it, you can have a body that stays slim no matter how much you eat, and a perfect figure that everyone envies.
Level: Primary]

To be honest, Tu Ran had no need for this ability.

Moreover, she had no intention of eating it.

Her current figure was already quite satisfactory, and she had no need for a perfect body.

Since coming to this world, her days had been very “fulfilling.”

She was either fighting or on the way to fight, and hardly ever spent a day lounging around in bed.

Therefore, her body already consumed a lot of energy, especially with the additional energy expenditure from using various abilities. She couldn’t even put on weight, let alone need a trait that prevented weight gain.

This superpower would actually be a burden for her.

Compared to her, Pangpang seemed more suited for this ability.

It wanted to lose weight, right? Eating this inner core would give it a body that wouldn’t gain weight no matter how much it ate, without needing to rely on exercise or dieting.

But Tu Ran didn’t want it to eat it either.

As the saying goes: “An innocent man is guilty only for possessing a jade.”

If Pangpang had the inner core, and if someone with a superpower similar to her [Superpower Recognition] happened to see it, even though it wasn’t a very powerful inner core, what if that person happened to need it, or intended to use it to pile up inner cores to enhance other superpowers?

Pangpang had no ability to resist. While she was around, she could protect it, but if she wasn’t there, wouldn’t Pangpang become a lamb waiting to be slaughtered?

“Stop eating!” Tu Ran called out to Pangpang.

“Huh?” Pangpang looked up in confusion, still holding half a worm in its beak, mumbling, “Why? Does the boss want a bite too?”
