Developing Superpowers in Another World

Vengeful

Chapter 100 – Vengeful

The people inside panicked, “What are you doing? Are you going to break down the door just because we won’t let you in?! There’s surveillance in the carriage! If you dare break the door, you’ll regret it!”

The burly man’s anger flared up, and he grabbed his machete, ready to smash the door. Fortunately, the two men beside him held him back.

The woman also tried to calm him, “Instead of wasting time here, why don’t you help her?”

She pointed to Tu Ran.

At that moment, an endless swarm of aliens surrounded her, almost enveloping her entire body.

Around her, a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood had already accumulated.

The burly man hefted his machete, “You three figure out how to get the door open. I’ll go help her.”

With that, he took long strides toward the horde of aliens.

His machete swung with such force it almost sparked, cutting a bloody path and rescuing Tu Ran from the mass of creatures. He stood like a wall in front of her, shielding her from most of the aliens.

Tu Ran’s arms were sore from exhaustion. She stood back-to-back with him, dealing with the aliens from behind.

“Why are you here again!” she shouted.

“Those bastards won’t open the door!” The burly man was furious.

He channeled all his anger into slaughtering the aliens, each swing of his machete so powerful that no alien that encountered it remained intact.

Tu Ran felt his anger and was equally furious.

She risked so much, and yet these people had the nerve to shut them out!

They had no idea how vengeful Tu Ran could be!

“Hold on for a bit,” Tu Ran said, tilting her head slightly, “I’ll think of something.”

“Okay,” the man nodded without hesitation.

Tu Ran maneuvered out of the circle of aliens and walked up to the glass door.

The three men were still trying to negotiate with the people inside.

Tu Ran pushed them aside and used her sleeve to wipe the blood off the glass, enough to see every face of the people inside.

She set her face sternly, “I am Pioneer Tu Ran, appointed by the Federation. My orders are the Federation’s orders. Now, I order you to open the door! We need to get inside!”

The man leading the group inside, wearing gold-rimmed glasses with one lens shattered, responded nervously, “I’m worried that you—”

Tu Ran cut him off sharply, “I reiterate, my orders are the Federation’s orders. By refusing, you are defying the Federation’s government. Even if you survive, you will face the Federation’s punishment!”

The man adjusted his glasses and sneered at Tu Ran, “Aren’t you a Pioneer? Aren’t you supposed to deal with these aliens? Why do you need to come inside? Shouldn’t you be taking care of all those creatures?”

“I fought my way from the seventh carriage to here, fulfilling my duty. Now, my duty is to ensure my team gets in safely.”

Tu Ran pulled out an unused handgun from her waist and pointed it directly at the man with glasses. “The latest directive from the Federation gives me the authority to execute anyone who disobeys orders.”

The man with glasses looked momentarily shaken, “You’re bluffing!”

“The new Federation law states that the safety of a Pioneer is paramount. By leaving me outside, you are endangering my life, and I have the right to determine your fate.” Tu Ran touched the trigger.

“Three!”

Someone started to plead with the man with glasses.

“Two!”

The man with glasses shoved the person pleading with him to the ground.

“One!”

The man with glasses stared defiantly at Tu Ran, gambling that she wouldn’t shoot, believing she was merely trying to intimidate him.

“Bang!”
