Heartbeat
The name of the bar was “Mist”, and its front door was very inconspicuous. The kind that passers-by could easily ignore when they pass by. However, when Bian Shengjian and Lu Shen pushed the door open, they were immediately greeted with a loud noise. Like that of the waves of a tsunami that tug on one’s eardrums.
“I–fuck.” Bian Shengjian couldn’t help but swear, and when he turned his head and tried to communicate with Lu Shen, he basically could only rely on his mouth.
“Can you bear it?”
“It’s okay.” Lu Shen pointed to his ear and tried to raise his voice, “You sure this is a bar!”
Bian Shengjian frowned and did not speak. The owner of this bar was also very casual. There was no dance floor inside, there was only a simple stage made of wood, surrounded by bar tables and seats. At the moment, there were four people in punk outfits on the stage singing out loud. The lead singer was especially hard-working, singing and dancing, with his head almost flying out–
“Third brother!”
Bian Shengjian heard someone shouting vigorously, and with some difficulty, in the wild and indiscriminate lighting, he saw Li Fei and Tan Ming occupy a table closer to the stage, waving at him excitedly.
“Here !”
“Let’s go.” Bian Shengjian hugged Lu Shen by one arm and walked through the crowd, and at the same time shouted into his ear, “This place is too loud, just say it if you can’t stand it!”
Lu Shen’s face was a little blurry in the flickering five-color lights, but he still squeezed Shengjian’s hand in response. “It’s okay.”
“It’s very regretful.” Li Fei handed over a dark beer, and continued to stare at the stage without blinking. “It’s just that their cooperation is almost poor… and this bass player is not very good.”
“Hmm.”
Bian Shengjian raised his head and took a sip of the beer, feeling that the oncoming sound wave was about to shatter the glass bottle. “Damn… so fierce.”
After the song was over, the madmen’s band packed up and prepared to step down. The lead singer of the band went to the stage and glanced at Bian Shengjian, then inexplicably gave him a provocative look with a middle finger.
“Fuck, what does that person mean?” Tan Ming jumped up first, staring at the man dissatisfied. “Is he sick?”
Bian Shengjian squinted his eyes and looked at him. The man had medium-length hair that had become messy after their play just now and a few strands were stuck to his chin. Apart from his unfriendly eyes, his facial features looked wild and beautiful.
Although he didn’t know where this inexplicable hostility came from, Bian Shengjian nodded slightly to him, and returned his gaze to the table.
Although this bar was hosting band competitions, there were not many teams that actually came on stage. Apart from the four bold people Bian Shengjian and others saw when they first came in, the others who followed looked a little unprofessional. There were even some who can’t even play the guitar very well and were just solely relying on their throats. Bian Shengjian felt that his ears were about to fall off listening to them this close.
“Let’s just go, it’s not interesting.” He took a sip and turned around.
Although the owner of this store may want to use this atmosphere to attract customers, because this low-level performance simply cannot affect people’s hearts at all, most of the people except their group huddled in the back booth, all seemed to lack interest and only occasionally looked up to this side.
“Let’s go, let’s go.” Tan Ming stretched his back and stood up, and rubbed his ears. “It’s all shit…”
“Hey.”
Bian Shengjian suddenly felt a flick on his shoulder. He turned his head and was faced with a smiling face.
“Dude, you know me?”
It was the lead singer of that band. Bian Shengjian frowned.
“My name is Qiu Jiu.” The man extended his hand to Bian Shengjian, “You also play rock, right?”
“Hmm.” Bian Shengjian stared at the slender knuckles with four or five exaggerated rings on him for a while, and then reluctantly gave him a hollow grip. “Occasionally.”
“Hey, what did you mean just now?” Tan Ming remembered the scene just before he stepped down, and grabbed Qiu Jiu’s shoulder a little unhappily. “Are you looking for trouble?”
“I’m looking for him, not you.” Qiu Jiu turned to face him with a cold look in his eyes. “Let go.”
Bian Shengjian didn’t need to guess to know what Qiu Jiu’s stare just now represented. Those eyes full of desire and naked hints could not be hidden in the dim light, but although he looked pretty good, he was not his type.
He looked like a wild wolf and it’s estimated to be also very expensive when playing in bed.
“I’m sorry.” Bian Shengjian said, “I’m not interested in you.”
“Oh?” Qiu Jiu squinted his eyes and looked at him, and the playfulness in his eyes flashed. “It doesn’t matter. Let’s just get to know each other first. Are you still studying? Which school?”
Li Fei and Tan Ming were stunned at the same time when they realized the real purpose of Qiu Jiu. For a while, both felt a little embarrassed.
“You shit.” Bian Shengjian also stared at him. Although the two were about the same height, their temperaments were far from each other. Standing in front of him, Qiu Jiu looked weaker by three points.
“Would you like to go up and try?” Qiu Jiu suddenly smiled, and his smile was a little unpredictable. “Just play one.”
“No guitar.” Bian Shengjian shrugged.
“I’ll lend you mine.” Qiu Qiu said, patting the guitar bag in his hand. “It’s all here, since we’re all just having fun, isn’t it too much to sing a song?”
Before Bian Shengjian could answer, Tan Ming became angry first, he stepped forward and stood in front of Bian Shengjian.
“Who the hell are you? Why let us sing, we didn’t fucking came here to perform!”
“Don’t keep butting in.” Qiu Jiu frowned, still staring at Bian Shengjian. “Will you? Let me see what you can do.”
“Okay.” Bian Shengjian reached out and hooked his bag, “Ming’er don’t get angry, just do it.”
“It’s a pity that Pingping is not here.”
The expression on Li Fei’s face was quite calm, but his tone was a little excited. “What will you sing?”
“What do you think?” Bian Shengjian raised his eyebrows.
Bian Shengjian opened Qiu Jiu’s bag after the last half-hearted band on stage stepped down, and after tuning a few notes, he was quite satisfied.
The reason why he acquiesced to playing on the stage was also due to the suppressed emotions during this period of time. Bian Shengjian had always wanted to find a way to express himself, plus the provocative eyes just before Qiu Jiu stepped down, almost instantly aroused a desire for victory—just wait and see, scumbag.
Lu Shen returned to the table and sat down, propped his chin with his hand and stared at the person on the stage without blinking. Just now, when he watched Qiu Jiu and Bian Shengjian talking, he didn’t come forward, but an unknown emotion rolled over in his heart that even his chest felt a little hot.
…..What’s going on?
Qiu Jiu went to communicate with the people at the bar, and the background gradually became quiet, and then he heard Bian Shengjian bow his head and play the first note on the strings.
Lu Shen held his breath inexplicably.
“I will be back.”
Bian Shengjian’s slightly hoarse voice spread from the stage, followed by a few seconds of silence, then–
“HEY BABY PULL THE TRIGGER!”
A series of powerful drum beats sounded along with this cry. Tan Ming blew a long whistle in coordination while beating.
Lu Shen’s hand in mid-air was frozen. He stared at Bian Shengjian, who seemed to have completely changed his personality on the stage. His heart that had been silent for a long time felt a shock in an instant–
This was probably a song written by Bian Shengjian himself. It was a mix of Chinese-English rock and roll style. The music was wild and contained a touch of emotion that he can’t describe. In short, when Bian Shengjian’s fingers slid over the strings, his blood seemed to be ignited instantly. His eyes were clear and shining, as if glowing.
“We stood at the crossroads where time meets, and chose to be blind and taken for granted….
Bian Shengjian sang, his hand suddenly waved down, and then a more powerful growl broke out.
“Fuck off those unrealistic dreams, that’s not the life you want! “
Lu Shen looked at Bian Shengjian’s strong muscle lines waving in the air and listened to his low roar. For a moment, it was as if something was released from the bottom of his heart, and then exploded in the air. He couldn’t help but stood up slightly and looked at the expression on Bian Shengjian’s face, but he couldn’t see it clearly.
Just under those whistles and screams, in the wild and uninhibited singing, Bian Shengjian himself seemed to have become a ball of light, melting into the dense and frantic drum beats around him.
As if he was born to be on stage.
Lu Shen paused, and slowly put his hand on his chest, the rapid heartbeat made him slightly dizzy.
But I didn’t drink.
The atmosphere under the stage was instantly ignited, and the people who had been huddling at the back also rushed towards the stage like a tide. Many people jumped up excitedly, screaming strange cries. More and more eyes were focused on Bian Shengjian, including Qiu Jiu.
His eyes were fixed on Bian Shengjian’s free and easy figure, and he licked the corner of his lips as if he was going to devour him into his stomach.
After the end of the song, Shengjian was already sweating, but the whole person felt very relaxed. After all, he had not tried to sing a song so thoroughly for a long time. The last time can basically be traced back to his freshman year in high school.
“Here, your guitar.” Bian Shengjian tucked the bag into Qiu Jiu’s arms and raised his eyebrows at the same time, “I tuned a few notes for you.”
“Thank you.” Qiu Jiu raised his head and smiled, but he suddenly grabbed Bian Shengjian’s wrist before he could retract it. “It’s a good song.”
“I’m flattered.” Bian Shengjian met his eyes with a smile. “Let go.”
“I’m very interested in you.” Qiu Jiu didn’t answer, but began to rub his fingertips slowly and vaguely. “Would you like to try it with me?”
“No,” Bian Shengjian smiled, “you are too dirty.”
“What?” Qiu Jiu’s expression froze.
“You should have already played with a lot of people,” Bian Shengjian’s tone was a little casual, “too dirty, I don’t like it. “
Qiu Jiu let go of his hand, his eyes became a little dangerous. “What’s your name?”
“You already want to sleep with me, yet you only ask my name now?” Bian Shengjian’s smile was cold, “Then I’m your dad, fool.”
“Yes,” Qiu Jiu suddenly took a big step forward, with a low and charming tone. “I just want to have sex with you, and I want to fuck you hard. “
“….Fuck you and the twenty-eighth generation of your ancestors.”
Bian Shengjian quickly glanced around with his peripheral vision. Li Fei and Tan Ming were separated from him when they got off the stage. The position where he and Qiu Jiu were located was in a small corner that no one paid attention to. Although if someone wanted to do something to him, he had the confidence to beat him all over the place. However, Qiu Jiu was different. He belongs to the kind who cannot fight on the surface, but can use any ruthless tricks behind his back.
When Bian Shengjian also just got off the stage, he was so excited that his mind was still in a daze.
He quickly took a few steps back, for fear that someone would accidentally catch this person’s words.
“Scram.”
“I’ll let you go after playing with me all night,” Qiu Qiu said, putting his hand inside his pocket, and his tone was a little playful. “How about that?”
Bian Shengjian stared at his hand in his pocket and did not speak, when suddenly a shout came from behind.
“Third brother!”
Bian Shengjian breathed a sigh of relief in an instant, but frowned again when he saw Lu Shen.
“You…”
There was no emotion on Lu Shen’s face, but his expression was cold like he had never seen before.
“Come here.”
“Your friend?” Qiu Jiu hooked his mouth and looked at Lu Shen. “I’m sorry, I have something to do with him. How far can you go?”
Lu Shen didn’t look at him at all, he reached out and grabbed Bian Shengjian’s wrist with a low voice.
“Let’s go.”
“I told you to go away!” Qiu Jiu was instantly angry, and finally took out the contents in his pocket, which was a transparent tube containing powder.
Bian Shengjian stared at the tube of powder vigilantly. “What is that?”
“What makes you obedient,” Qiu Jiu smiled, “Just a little…”
In the second half of the sentence, he suddenly stopped talking, and the hand holding the tube froze in the air.
“If you dare touch him, I will kill you.” Lu Shen stared at him.
Qiu Jiu didn’t speak, because he found that he couldn’t speak for a moment when he looked at Lu Shen, and the whole person seemed to be frozen, unable to move, and at the same time, a chill swept through his limbs making his hands and feet numb. It was like almost losing the feeling of his body.
This unfamiliar sense made his heart panic and beat wildly.
When Bian Shengjian saw that Qiu Jiu’s face was a little strange, he turned to look at Lu Shen, only to find that the expression on his face became more and more gloomy. He tried to shake his hand and found that it was also cold.
“What’s wrong with you?”
Lu Shen didn’t respond, and was still staring with enmity.
“Ugh…” He finally let out a painful snort.
Only then did Bian Shengjian realize that something was wrong, and even with the instant heartbeat that Lu Shen’s threatening words brought him, he stepped forward to check the strange situation of Qiu Qiu, but he was immediately grabbed in the arm by Lu Shen.
“Don’t.”
“What’s wrong?”
Bian Shengjian glanced at Qiu Qiu again, only to find that he was already squatting on the ground, sweating profusely, pulling his hair with his hands. He looked like he was in pain and his mouth was breathing hard, like he was being strangled with something invisible and was close to suffocating.
“Lu Shen!”
Bian Shengjian finally became anxious and roared, “What’s wrong with him!”
As soon as he finished speaking, a loud crack suddenly sounded from the top of Bian Shengjian’s head. Before he had time to raise his head, he was thrown back by someone, and then some glass fragments fell down, and all of them fell on Qiu Jiu’s body.
Bian Shengjian looked at the broken decorative lamp above his head in shock. Before he could react, Qiu Jiu, who was squatting on the ground, finally let out an earth-shattering cough. “Cough cough…cough cough cough cough!”
“Let’s go.”
Lu Shen touched his hand.
Because the sound of the explosion attracted the attention of a large number of people, when Bian Shengjian and Lu Shen were forced to squeeze out of the crowd, no one noticed them, but what shocked him even more was: How did that thing shatter just now?
“Lu Shen!”
Bian Shengjian finally let go of his hand, and looking at him now, his face finally eased a little more than before.
“You…. what did you do to him?”
“He asked for it.”
Lu Shen’s voice was a little dull, and at the same time he put his hand on his shoulder. “Did he touch you?”
“Touched ?… he touched nothing!” Bian Shengjian wiped the cold sweat from shock. “He is a fool.”
“That’s good.” Lu Shen breathed a sigh of relief.
Bian Shengjian’s mind was a little confused for a while, and when he recalled the scene just now, he couldn’t believe it, especially now when he faced Lu Shen’s calm face, that strange feeling was particularly strong.
He was suddenly frightened.
