Chapter 16: Advent of the Goddess Part 2

Translator: MadHatter Editor: MadHatter

There is cruelty described in this chapter. A fluffy way to describe it is genocide.

Please be careful if you do not like it.

That was how I feel about capturing the country. Was there anything more to be said? We started out winning with quality, and in the end, we triumphed with quantity.

And the Queen? I sentenced her to the skinning process, which she was very fond of. Her high and lofty dignity must have been crushed by having to reveal her abhorrent contents to everyone’s sight. But it was her own fault for failing to honorably commit suicide. Perhaps she couldn’t believe that I, of all people, was capable of staging a coup and pulling it off successfully.

…But come to think of it, she made a crazy remark like, “Did you forget the favor I gave you for raising you and preserving your life?” I wondered what in the world she was ranting about.

Who asked her to keep me alive?

A grown man constituted a menace, of course. However, a woman has the ability to conceive a kid, and that child will ultimately grow up. And when they grow up, the threat will eventually sprout and bear fruit. It can only be concluded that she herself was shallow. Even a kitten’s failure to recognize her potential to turn into a tiger was her own fault, no matter how you look at it.

In any case, that kind of line should not be uttered by a mother who killed her own son in a fit of greed. Wouldn’t you agree?

That was why I pulled out her tongue as well. It would be senseless for her to have it.

Should she have been able to endure the punishment of being left alone for three days, I would have been willing to let her off with lifetime confinement, but it was too much of a shock for her, wasn’t it? She didn’t even last half a day.

What have I done to the country since then? Well, my predecessor was out of control to a certain extent, so I had to clean up the mess, and in some places, I had to maintain the administration of a virtuous government.

What was wrong with my predecessor was that she attempted to be thoroughly conservative. While she was not a direct descendant of the royal family, she was a genuine aristocrat who could be traced back to a collateral lineage. Even by listening only to a few privileged people, she was bound to reach an impasse sooner or later. They were, so to speak, the worst of the worst, who had been following in the footsteps of their parents for generations. They were strangely good at self-preservation and noblesse oblige? That sort of thing was an illusion in our country. It wasn’t that there weren’t any such individuals; rather, they were incomparably insignificant and rare.

The equality of all people, however, was the most ludicrous course of action. Of all the living beings in my country, only about 20% were truly necessary. The other 60% can be useful depending on how they were used, and the remaining 20% was just for the sake of numbers.

Living creatures that spend time in groups need diversity, right? Regardless of how much sifting I have done, there will always be a certain number of lives that were unwanted. Even if I were to crush these dissidents with my blood, there would be no end to the number of them. The former Queen did not understand that.

After a certain point, you have to give up on the maggots. Let the maggots be tamed. Fastidiousness will not work. After all, they will be covered with germs no matter how hard you try.

Even though I was able to overthrow the Queen rather quickly, it took me some time to restore stability to the country. Some idiots believed they could seize control of me because I was a young Queen. Well, that was unavoidable.

I was forced to capture every rebel, including the entire family, and execute them by impaling them through the anuses while still alive. After a few hundred or thousands of cases, they eventually realized what sort of person I am. However, cruelty alone would have driven my people into a state of depression, so I kept myself occupied by providing sanitary conditions for the commoners and the poor, focusing on agriculture and livestock raising to increase food self-sufficiency, developing cities and expanding into new areas, and so on.

By the time I was able to meet Milord in a satisfactory condition, four years had passed since we parted. But I can say that my country has changed for the better thanks to this.

I taught them patiently in a way that any fool could comprehend.

Bastito was the Goddess of Fertility. To obey me was to prosper, and to disobey me was to perish. It was nevertheless undoubtedly a spectacular accomplishment to achieve a reform that would have generally taken 10 years to complete, according to a close aide of mine. I wonder if that was true.

I was a 12-year-old girl at the time, but at 16 I had grown into a woman. On that particular day, I was assiduously working to better myself in the hopes that you would be pleased with my efforts, Milord.

And that was the same day I learned of her existence.

Four years. I waited for four years. Do you understand, these unbearable years? The first year was for the war. The remaining three years were spent establishing my country. During those years, I have been on a killing streak. I wanted to see that person again, just for that reason.

I really wanted to meet him. I have always wanted to know Milord. I wanted to continue thinking about you. But I made an excruciating, emotional decision because I knew that once I touched you, I would never be able to be apart from you again. While concentrating on capturing the country, I blocked out all information about that person and worked on it without paying attention to his side. I was afraid that he might have died during that time. That was a terrifying time. In the midst of my official duties, I was still fine. But each time I was by myself and thought of his presence, I felt as though I were being driven insane.

Multiple claw marks were left in my bedroom.

I missed him. I wanted to meet him. I wanted to see him. I wanted to come to see him more quickly.

It was a moment that I was looking forward to. Can you imagine how much I had been looking forward to that moment? And then everything came crashing down.

You, Milord, remained the same unwanted and unfortunate prince. That was fine. You have grown even more masculine and beautiful than before. This too was natural.

Why…

On your side…

Was there another woman…

Why…

Were you…

With someone other than me…

Were you engaged to someone…

Apart from me…

I was so indignant when I initially learned about it that I almost killed one of my men. It was an impulsive act, and if I had come to my senses a little later, I might have actually killed him.

Not that I was averse to killing, but because the man was reasonably useful to me, it was a blunder that I would not have made under normal circumstances.

Do you understand? You don’t understand, do you?

The fury that made me want to annihilate the world. That humiliation.

Behold me! My name is Bastito, Goddess of Beauty, and I am the one who presides over her!

Please take a look at me. Can there be two such beauties? For you, I would not have hesitated to covet the skills of a man of commerce.

What exactly was your dissatisfaction with me, Elias! Stop messing around! In all the years that I have been so distraught and distressed by you, suppressing all my sensuality, all my pain, all my anguish! And you flirted so easily with another woman?

I will never forgive you. Never.

Yes, yes. It was not that I didn’t expect it. Because you were a real scumbag by nature, I had it in the back of my mind as a theory and knew it would come to pass. Marriage was a weapon, and women should be reserved for it. One or two fiancées should not be a surprise. It would be natural that he would have had a few encounters at a brothel. There was no way that man wouldn’t have a new woman with him―

In my head, I understood this.

Understanding the logic did not, however, entitle me to forgive him, you know?

Even so, I still love that part of him that was not a proper man! Because he really was a helpless man unless I was there for him!

After all, I was the only one who could stand alongside you. A little girl like that was not even worthy of being a mistress.

Furthermore, when I investigated her, what I found was how detestable and loathsome she was. Growing up with her father’s affection? Innocent and honest? She was a tomboy who hopped around, and she had rural girl attitudes that were inappropriate for an aristocracy.

Milord, were you truly a fool? Why did that man always find it so easy to fall for this sort of woman? Although I was aware of it personally, being confronted by a stranger made me furious all over again.

You expected others to be more decent than anyone else, even though you yourself were not decent. Moreover, you wanted to be single-mindedly loved by such a person, didn’t you?

I, who was not decent, was not enough for you. That was what you were saying, huh?

…Hahahaha.

What a cold person you were, Elias. There was nothing a dimwit like her could do. It was impossible for her to understand you or satisfy you.

Because she was a child who grew up with love. She was not like you, Milord, who was not loved.

Will you be happily married? It can never happen.

You were a bottomless swamp. No woman in existence can satisfy you in the way you want, because even your Kitty was not satisfactory for you.

Enough of this. Your demands placed on others were too high for your capacity.

But you know what, I can fill your void. Allow me to handle everything on your behalf. I would hold you every single day if you felt lonely at night. I’ll even give birth to a child for you if you want. No. I’ll push myself on you even if you claim you don’t want either. I have been tolerating it for a long time. Didn’t you think I deserved to be compensated that much?

So, Elias. You shouldn’t need anyone else. Not another woman!

Hey, won’t you agree?

Right.

…That must be true.

Milord. Although I was smiling like this, I was inwardly very mad at you. That you had made another woman and had been trying to forget all about me. Hahaha, I’ll make you pay for it later with your body.

From the tips of your hair to the ends of your fingers, I’ll make sure you’ll never forget me again. The price for insulting me shall be heavy, human being. Ah, I despise you. I could kill you right away.

But I still can’t give up the feeling of missing you. This world was hell. I have been struggling on my own for a long time. There was nothing I can do about it.

…It has been a year. I have suffered much more in the year since you and I, Milord, reunited in secret. One year was enough. I have made up my mind.

That man was a useless person, and he would not understand if I did not thoroughly violate all of him.

Therefore, I decided to eliminate the things in the world he desired most. For this purpose, I have been working on it for a year. The people and the other side have been thoroughly laying the groundwork for this.

What did I mean? Can’t you understand? What I was celebrating today was not only a commemoration of my victory over you, Milord.

I have destroyed your family, your lover, your home, and everything in between.

Although it didn’t give me as much pleasure as when I touched you, it was nonetheless wonderful in its own right. Here was your father, this sow was your mother, this monkey was your half-brother… I checked each of them myself. I personally identified each of them and carefully displayed them at the gate of the castle before blowing up the entire building.

Svalbella, the City of Brilliance, was it? That too ended yesterday.

One by one, houses were burned to the ground and every last human being was exterminated. Men, children, and old people were killed because they were irrelevant. As for the women in their prime, my soldiers were apparently short of wives because I had overdone it a bit, so I decided that they could have them. The truth was, I wanted to refuse anything that might lead to trouble in the future, but it was unlikely that the people of the royal city, who were my noble subjects, would show affection to a lowly and savage beast. If there had been, I would have kept an eye on them.

Salt was sprinkled on the scorched land, poison was dumped into the wells, and blood was covered in debris. May this nation never again prosper.

Milord, your past was not needed. It would be enough to have a future called “me”.

I was looking forward to it the moment I will tell you the truth. But I didn’t particularly need to say anything. Just watching you yearning for an impossible reality was enough for me.

Oh, about my treatment of the humans, especially that thieving cat, I gave her and her father a deserving end.

I had my men attack them first. That was the basics. This was what happened to the daughter for being a tomboy.

Then, when the time was right, I sent in a priest of some sort as a consolation prize. It was laughably effortless. That woman fell.

All that was left to do was to be careful and to stage true love through my servant, a pious and kind priest.

The reason why you, Milord and she broke off the engagement was, of course, to irritate you. It was minor harassment.

But I will not compromise on this matter at all.

On the occasion of the attack on the royal capital, I took the opportunity to visit their mansion. She screamed when I told her the truth at the end, but I allowed her to have a good dream, even if only for a short time, so I was very considerate of her, wasn’t I?

I really wanted to kill that woman properly, too. But my servant begged and pleaded for her life, so I cut off her hands and feet, and then gave her to him if he still wanted her. I wondered what he found so appealing about her. But, I can understand some of the paranoia, and since the servant seemed happy, I thought I had done a pretty good thing.

Oh, and of course, the whole barbaric act was done in front of her beloved father. He also showed me something quite interesting, a death by shock. The daughter was only unconscious, though.

They were both insensitive parents and children. If he was really a considerate father, he should have killed his daughter when she was first attacked, and she should have killed herself if she didn’t want her beloved father to suffer. I gave her a fitting end because she survived so miserably and torturously.

But, well, that was fine. After all that, I finally felt a little better.

I will never forgive her for surrendering her lips to Milord, but I have taught her that it was Milord’s fault that she was in such a predicament. You can curse for the rest of your life and die miserably, you poor, unfortunate b*tch.

Hahaha. What shall I do? Should I tell you what happened to your ex-fiancee?

No, no.

I alone will occupy your mind.

But in case you cannot shake off your feelings for her, I will have to bring you her limbs. Even a hundred years of love will cool down after that much time. I mean, please just give up.

If such a day should ever come, I will not be able to maintain my composure. I wish you the best of luck, Milord.
