Witches' Night 1

Side story 10: witches night 1

Late at night, with the moon high in the sky, Luana finished her work for the day, washed lightly and changed into her pajamas.

Then, as she was straightening her hair, Legion, who came in late, took the comb from her hand and started combing her hair with great skill.

While living with Luana, he learned one skill after another and hair brushing was one of those skills.

“It’s okay. You’ve worked so late till now, aren’t you tired?”

Legion smiled slightly as he saw Luana refusing out of courtesy.

“Not at all. I’m doing this because I want to.”

Legion spoke with sincerity. Anything related to Luana was enjoyable. He didn’t want to miss even the smallest thing.

“Then I’ll leave it to you!”

Luana leaned back comfortably in the chair and tilted her head. Legion gently traced the nape of her neck while brushing her hair, which was longer than before.

“It tickles!”

The mirror in front of them reflected Luana smiling from tickling. However, for a moment, her expression slowly began to change, as if she sensed a different intention from the groping touches.

The laughter died down and her cheeks turned pink. Then, Luana’s hand touched Legion’s hand.

“When will the combing end?”

A voice filled with heat asked Legion.

“It’ll be over soon.”

Legion answered that way, but Luana could not wait for that time, so she reached out and grabbed his wrist.

“It’ll be over soon.”

Her usually relaxed gaze seemed a bit heated.

Luana stood up and wrapped her arms around Legion’s neck.

“Are you going to keep combing my hair like this?”

When she looked up at him with a provocative gaze, he gently patted her head, so Luana’s lips couldn’t help but stick out.

“Are you going to keep being grumpy?”

“I am being grumpy?”

“Isn’t that the case?”

Luana rushed her protruding lips towards Legion’s lips. The surfaces of their lips met with a small sound. It didn’t take long for the kiss, which was as light as a feather, to become deep.

As the kiss deepened, Legion’s hands automatically tried to wrap around Luana’s waist, but this time, Luana skillfully avoided it.

Luana smiled playfully, raising the corners of her mouth.

She picked up the comb and sat down on the dressing table chair again.

“You have to comb my hair, right?”

Legion let out a helpless laugh at the sight of her behaving in a playful manner after thoroughly provoking him, but that look was also lovely.

In the end, Legion had no choice but to follow her wishes.

“As instructed.”

After carefully combing her hair again and using perfume to condition it, Legion asked Luana in a polite manner.

“Are you satisfied now?”

“Well, it’s okay.”

“So now I can do whatever I want?”

Luana, who was giggling at the Legion’s respectful manner of speech, nodded.

She gave permission. As soon as Legion realized this, he immediately picked Luana up, walked straight to the bed, and laid her down gently.

Luana’s eyes became sharp, wondering if she was going to mess around again, but not this time. His red eyes were shining dangerously.

“Come here.”

As soon as Luana finished speaking, Legion rushed at her. And just as the hero was about to perform, a white flash passed outside the window.

Quagwang!

It was thunder. Realizing this, Luana gasped and pushed Legion away.

“Wait! Window, look out the window!”

Only then did Legion look outside and realize that thunder was rumbling outside. Once, twice. Legion, who was counting the number of times the thunder struck, looked disappointed when it started to rain.

“Is it raining?”

“Yes”

“this….”

Luana smiled slightly and got up from the bed. It was because she knew a little girl who was particularly scared and would break into her parents’ bedroom whenever there was thunder.

First, she straightened out the disheveled sheets and straightened her clothes. Then, as she lightly combed her disheveled hair using her hands, she heard a knock outside the door.

Knew it.

“mom?”

The second child, Irene, was a timid crybaby. As soon as she went over and opened the door, a small body came out of the darkness and hung on Luana’s leg.

“Irene.”

“I’m going to sleep with Mom and Dad today.”

She timidly glanced at the dark corner. At first, Launa wondered why she did that, but now she knew.

She did this because she was afraid that the monster that appears in the books Luana had been reading will come out.

They were races that disappeared over time, but Irene didn’t seem to understand that.

“Okay, come in.”

Luana slowly walked to the bed with Irene. When she put her down, she immediately laid down between her mom and dad.

“Are you okay? Are you very scared?”

“A little bit.”

Although she was small, she had pride, so she didn’t say she was very scared. But Luana knew that Irene was more scared than usual. When she was really only a little scared, she would go to her older sister Raina’s room instead of her parents’ room.

“How can you learn magic if you’re so scared?”

“I can learn magic.”

Irene answered confidently.

“really?”

“really!”

“Then can I look forward to it this time?”

“yes!”

Irene forgot her fear for a moment and smiled. A smile also appeared on Luana’s face as she looked at her second child.

Sarah came to visit not long ago and gave us some good news. The witch’s night was about to begin. That was the night when Luana first became aware of her magic. She then encouraged her first child, Raina, to participate.

Luana was late to participate due to lack of connection, but it was said that children of other witches often gained their abilities at a younger age.

Of course, when Reina heard the news, she jumped up and down, wanting to go. The problem was next, when Irene knew that her sister is going to learn magic, she cried and wanted to go, too.

Although she was destined to become a witch, Launa wanted her to experience human life until she could choose on her own. Irene didn’t know that. Sarah told Luana, who didn’t know what to do.

“Well, how about it? It’s not easy to learn magic if you’re too young. Wouldn’t it be okay if we took her there just to have a look?”

Luana also changed her mind after hearing Sarah’s words. They decided to take Irene along with Raina.

Of course, the human Legion cannot participate. It was a pity, but it was something Luana could not change.

“I want to learn great magic!”

“What kind of great magic?”

“Hmm.”

Irene groaned and began to think. Even though she was shouting that she wanted to learn great magic, she didn’t seem to know what it was specifically.

It was so cute that Launa hugged her tightly and kissed her plump cheek. Irene smiled and kissed Luana’s cheek too. After putting the second child to sleep, Luana also fell asleep.

Early in the morning, she woke up to the voice of her first child, Raina.

“Irene! Did you sleep here again?”

“Huh, sister? Did you sleep well?”

“I slept well, though.”

Reina pouted her lips. She seemed to feel a little left out because everyone in her family slept together without her, but that didn’t mean she could easily gain the courage to voice her complaint.

Because, unlike Irene, who was small and a crybaby, Raina was the older sister and bigger. So all she could do was to gently pinch her cute younger sister’s chubby cheeks.

Even so, Irene took it as a joke and laughed. Seeing that, Raina laughed as well, then Reina said good morning with a clear voice.

“Good morning, mother, father.”

“You can call me mom.”

“No. I’m all grown up now.”

Raina spoke confidently, but in the eyes of her mother, Luana, she still looked young.

“Yes, yes.”

“By the way, is it tonight?”

Luana burst into laughter after hearing the question that had been repeated over and over again for several days.

Reina, as well as Irene, seemed to be looking forward to the Witches’ Night. Last time, when Luana was stacking up the books she borrowed from the library. She saw the list of the magic Reina wanted to learn.

No.1. Fire magic.

No.2. Flying magic .

No.3. Transport Magic .

Launa thought number 3 was influenced by Sarah. Although she knew that Reina would never have that magic as long as Sarah lived, Luana kept quiet because she did not want to break Reina’s dream. She just cautiously informed her that she might not get the magic she wanted.

Still, it’s the human mind that wonders just in case. Raina was still unable to break down her expectations.

In such a situation, how excited her little heart must be as Witch’s Night approaches at the end of the day.

That day, Reina was so concerned about magic that she lost focus on all of the classes she was supposed to take. The news also reached Luana and Legion, but they decided to pretend not to know, just for today.

That day felt so long for some people

Reina went out, as soon as the sky  outside of the window started getting dark.

It was time.

Sarah visited the imperial palace.

“Aunt Sarah!”

Raina, who had already changed into her favorite clothes, ran quickly into Sarah’s arms.

“Aunt Sarah!”

Not to be outdone by Reina, Irene also ran and clung to Sarah’s thigh.

“Oh my, why are you welcoming me like this?”

“Well, it’s obvious.”

Luana smiled slightly and bowed her head to Sarah.

“Please take care of us today.”

“Please take care of us today!”

The children copied Luana’s words exactly.
