He Qiu stood still, while Fu Yuling attempted to sit up. Just as she started to move, two hands pressed her down.
What Fu Yuling saw were two children looking seriously at her.
“No!”
“No!”
They both said in unison.
Then He Wen pushed her back down and continued to let her lie. He Qiu quickly grabbed a blanket and covered her.
Once she was snugly covered, He Qiu finally relaxed his furrowed brow.
Fu Yuling was unsure if it was due to discomfort, but she didn’t want to listen to them and tried to pull the blanket off.
“You can’t get up. You’ll catch a cold.”
He Qiu blocked her hand, and Fu Yuling looked at him with a pitiful expression.
The two held their ground for a long while, but in the end He Qiu relented. He adjusted the blanket again and held her close, resting his head against her chin.
“Rest,” he lifted his head fiercely. “But you can’t stay asleep.”
Fu Yuling smiled. “Well, I won’t stay asleep.”
After saying that, she glanced at He Wen and blinked her eyes. Her meaning was very clear, she wanted him to hold her too.
He Wen naturally spoiled her and immediately wrapped his arms around her without a second thought.
Seeing this, Fu Yuling smiled happily. She pulled both of them into the blanket, ensuring they wouldn’t get cold before placing her hand on them and closing her eyes.
Her body felt exhausted, as if it had been run over by something.
Under the warmth that belonged to the children, she quickly fell asleep.
Long after she had fallen asleep, He Qiu and He Wen remained awake. Lying on either side of her, they both stared at Fu Yuling’s peaceful face.
They still couldn’t forget the sight of Fu Yuling lying silently on the ground. He Qiu even used his abilities to probe into what had happened to her but found nothing.
At that moment, he felt defeated. He had sworn to protect her, but when it was at the critical moment, he had no way to help.
For several days, he had locked himself in his room and didn’t step outside once.
During that time, he was in despair.
He closed his eyes, the depth within unreadable to anyone else.
Meanwhile, He Wen lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes fluttering. The overwhelming anxiety finally found some peace at this moment.
He silently inhaled Fu Yuling’s scent and secretly decided that he would never let such a thing happen again.
No one could hurt her, no one!
Compared to their chaos, on the other side, Nan Nan waited for a long time. Aside from one reply, everything else was messages she had sent out, with no response following.
If she hadn’t seen the chat box appear with her own eyes, she would have thought that the stress she was experiencing these days had caused her to hallucinate.
She waited for another hour, and the chat box showed several new messages sent over the past few days.
“Fu Yuling, can you talk? Can you reply to me?”
“Are you still there? Can you hear me?”
All the messages seemed to sink into the ocean without a trace, not causing a single ripple.
Nan Nan couldn’t help but chuckle at herself. “Am I crazy, thinking that Fu Yuling would reply to me?”
Then she opened the app’s rating page.
“Bad review: Just started a dialogue novel, and before the first chapter was even written, there’s already a bot learning to reply. It only gives cold one sentence reply and disappears. If you have the ability, come back and let’s continue chatting. PS: If the bot comes back, I’ll return to give a five-star review.”
Not long after her message was sent, the operations team behind the app saw the comment and became confused. “When did we ever have the technology to make a bot?”
