An Ping slowly walked over, his expression somewhat constipated.
He even regretted a bit coming over at this time. He had initially felt happy to see this person awake, but now that joy had been completely overshadowed by the impending punishment of thirty lashes.
He Jingsi still looked a bit weak, standing straight but one hand was trembling slightly as it grasped the door frame beside him.
“Be careful.”
An Ping couldn’t bear to watch and approached. This person was really too reckless.
Initially, according to the plan, nothing was supposed to happen to him, but unexpectedly, he charged into the enemy’s lair by himself. Although in the end, he managed to take down the enemy base, which was a commendable achievement.
But he nearly lost his life in the process. By the time he was discovered, He Jingsi was lying in a warehouse covered in injuries, on the brink of death.
He Jingsi looked up, his eyes cold and indifferent.
“Where’s the minister?”
At the mention of the minister, An Ping couldn’t answer right away. The minister hadn’t been to the hospital in days. He heard that there were another accidents there, and he seemed to be dealing with them.
As for why He Jingsi was out alone, it was mainly because his hospital room was being changed daily. Even if those people wanted to find him, they had no choice but to follow the clues bit by bit.
These days, the people around He Jingsi were dismissed. It was safer for him to be alone like an ordinary patient, without anyone around, rather than under constant guard of large group of people which would make him a bigger target.
That’s why when he woke up, there was no one around.
Coincidentally, the only remaining guard had been called away by the doctor, which was why He Jingsi woke up and walked out to see An Ping first.
With An Ping’s help, he entered the ward. The blue and white hospital gown gave him a dignified and sharp aura.
As soon as An Ping sat down, He Jingsi’s next words froze him.
“Has the package been delivered?”
“Yes, it has.”
“What about them… how are they?”
An Ping fell silent, picking up a fruit from the table to peel.
He Jingsi seemed to already know the answer and didn’t press further.
“You waking up will likely led to some punishments. Also, what exactly happened there? How did you end up like that? You almost didn’t make it back.”
He Jingsi didn’t want to elaborate and only gave brief replies.
“Nothing, just an accident.”
Seeing this, An Ping didn’t ask more questions.
He knew it wouldn’t help. This person wouldn’t say anything.
Besides, within the team, He Jingsi was still his superior.
While An Ping was silently peeling the apple, He Jingsi seemed lost in thought. For a moment, neither of them spoke.
When the nurse returned, he found the door open and immediately sensed something was wrong.
He rushed in and saw two people staring at him.
The pressure was so great that it made him break out in a cold sweat.
Then it hit him, He Jingsi was awake.
“Awake, awake?”
He was about to run out to report the news, but He Jingsi stopped him.
“Don’t announce that I’m awake, just pretend I’m still unconscious.”
“What about the minister?”
“Keep it a secret.”
The words were firm and decisive.
Now even An Ping couldn’t understand what he was trying to do.
“Isn’t waking up a good thing?”
“When I was at a high point and preparing to retreat, a group was already heading to my location. They found it accurately. Later, I discovered I had a tracker on me. What do you think?”
