Since Fu Qi came early, and they didn’t have to walk with the ox cart, they had plenty of time. Now they were even earlier.
They arrived in the town a little after four o’clock, but there were still people coming and going on the streets.
Some stalls had already been set up, and the air was filled with delicious aromas.
Fu Yuling bypassed this area and had Fu Qi continue walking forward.
“Aren’t we going to set up here?”
After a while, Fu Qi couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
Fu Yuling explained, “Although the geographical location here is still decent, if you observe closely, you’ll find that most of the customers are local residents who live nearby.”
“But the place we’re going to now is near the school, and there’s also a factory not too far away. The families who can afford to send their kids to school and the workers with extra money are the people we want to reach.”
Hearing this, Fu Qi nodded in agreement.
When they reached the target area, Fu Yuling picked a good spot and told Fu Qi to stop.
“Okay, this is the place.”
“Wouldn’t it be more convenient if we got a bit closer?”
Fu Yuling chuckled lightly, “Don’t get too close. If there are a lot of customers, with all the children around, it would be easy for someone to get hurt.”
Thinking of the children back home, Fu Yuling was most concerned about avoiding any injuries to any children.
Fu Qi quickly set up the table and looked to Fu Yuling.
“You take these over and sit there to eat.”
“But I just…”
“I know. You keep eating, but don’t eat too fast. Sit facing the road and make sure the food on the table is visible to passersby.”
Fu Yuling selected a few appetizing dishes and placed them in Fu Qi’s bowl, especially the mung bean soup and cold dishes.
She then placed some cute-looking buns on the table in front of her, trying to catch the attention of the children.
After completing these preparations, it was already past five o’clock. There were more and more people on the streets, many holding buns or other breakfast items.
Thanks to the aroma and the appealing presentation of Fu Yuling’s offerings, they started attracting some customers.
The first one to approach was a young woman. She looked with interest at the buns shaped like animals and asked about the price.
“Boss, how much are these?”
Fu Yuling smiled politely, “Five cents each.”
“Ah? That’s so expensive!”
The woman hesitated.
Fu Yuling introduced some of the other options, “You can take a look at these. The taste is also very good, and the price is a bit more affordable.”
“Then… how much for those?”
“Four cents each, or three for ten cents.”
This was two cents cheaper, and the woman readily paid.
With the woman being the first customer, more people started coming, although many were just onlookers who didn’t intend to buy and just wanted to watch the fun.
Even those who just came to look, Fu Yuling didn’t treat them any differently. She enthusiastically introduced the different flavors.
By six o’clock, many parents with children had come, and some children had come on their own. They pointed and exclaimed at the uniquely shaped buns.
“Wow! This one looks like a rooster.”
“This one, this one, I recognize it, it’s a snake!”
…
As she packed up the orders, Fu Yuling praised, “The children are right, they identified them correctly.”
“Are they… edible?”
Some children stared at the buns with eager eyes, unwilling to look away.
“Yes, you can eat them.”
Upon hearing this, one child ran off in a flash.
Fu Qi didn’t even need to sit there and eat, as the buns were already attracting plenty of customers.
“Can these be sold?”
