Chapter 10 Cooking by hand
Ye He poked her head out from the rail on the second floor and raced down enthusiastically when she spotted Ji Shiyan changing shoes at the doorway.
“Ah Yan! How come you’ve returned?” she asked, taking off his coat and greeting him with a grin, like a well-behaved little daughter-in-law.
Ji Shiyan’s heart softened and his gloomy appearance eased, but when he noticed the footsteps on the carpet, he suddenly went frigid.
“Who’d been here?” His gaze was aggressive, hostile, and inquisitive, leaving people gasping for air.
Ye He stifled his growing apprehension, took a deep breath, and smiled as she continued, “Miao Miao and Mom were here, and they departed only after saying a few words.”
The ephemeral waves in her eyes, however, did not escape Ji Shiyan’s attention!
“What’s wrong?” Ji Shiyan blurted out, his thin lips parted slightly. His hand reached out automatically to brush Ye He’s lengthy hair.
“It’s nothing!” Ye He lowered her head, softly tugged at his sleeve, and smiled again, “Are you hungry? I have a surprise for you.”
Ji Shiyan gave her a serious glance, her eyes roaming and unpredictable, but he followed her inside nonetheless.
“Look!
” Ye He pulled back the main seat, “Sit down quickly, all these are your favorite dishes that I prepared.”
It’s difficult to put into words a dish that lacks all quality.
“This… Despite the fact that it may not appear to be good. Just give it a shot; it’s probably delicious! “
Ye He took up a shredded piece of beef and was going to offer it to him. It was evident in the bright light that there was still a small particle of salt which has not been fried.
Ji Shiyan calmly took it in one mouthful.
“Does it taste good?” Ye He said, clearly pleased.
“Delicious!”
“Then I’ll frequently cook it for you in the future, okay?” Ye He was clearly encouraged and felt increasingly proud.
Uncle Xu, who was standing to the side, twitched his lips. He’d eaten foods like this before…and it’s awful!
“You may do it every day,” Ji Shiyan said, rubbing her head, taking the chopsticks on his side, and eating it without hesitation.
The flavor was much sharper than the mountain and marine delicacies he frequently consumed.
“Is that truly wonderful?” “Let me just say, it doesn’t have to look good to taste great!” Ye He shoved a chunk of meat into her mouth, “cough cough…” She nearly died. She clearly remembered that she did not put much salt in.
“Ji Shiyan, you’re amazing…” After several cups of water, she had almost forgotten about the salty taste and flashed Ji Shiyan a passionate thumbs up.
Ji Shiyan’s eyes slightly curved, and he smiled for the first time.
Ye He took advantage of the occasion and quickly said, “By the way, can I go back to Ye’s household tomorrow?”
She tried everything in the previous life, but Ji Shiyan hasn’t ever consented to her request to return. Is this life going to be any different?
When he found out that she was leaving, Ji Shiyan’s smile vanished, and the air pressure in the room rose.
“Don’t worry, I’ll go back and grab some of my belongings; whomever doesn’t return is a puppy!”
“If you don’t let me leave, I’ll never cook for you again,” she said stubbornly.
Ji Shiyan’s expression shifted inexorably. “You can go, but you must return at night,” he remarked seriously after finishing the last bite of meat.
“Okay, okay. It would be even more wonderful if you came and picked me up!” Ye He twisted his forearm and playfully rubbed it several times.
Ye He had already gone upstairs when Ji Shiyan was done from his call with Lin Yu.
“What did the Ye family come here for?” he asked Uncle Xu, his tone clearly dissatisfied.
“They claimed they were concerned about Miss Ye being mistreated by the Young Master and wished to visit and accompany her, but they left after just a few words.” Uncle Xu paused, then added, “They don’t speak very nicely about the young miss, they say Miss Ye…” He hesitated.
“Go on!” Ji Shiyan’s expression darkened, and dense clouds began to form.
“Say Miss Ye knows nothing and relies solely on the Young Master!”
“Oh, it appears that I am overly generous to the Ye family.”
Ji Shiyan raised the corners of his mouth, snatched the phone near him, and dialed, “Lin Yu, tomorrow’s bid doesn’t have to go to the Ye family,”
