After My Dead Ending

8.

“Don’t cry.”

Norma brushed the corners of my eyes.

The beautiful man, who patted my cheek with a careful touch, looked up at me with a heartbreaking face. He seemed to be wiping away tears from my eyes.

You don’t want me to cry? You want me to dry my tears?

… Am I crying?

No, is Norma Diazi awake now? Why are you awake?

When I asked him to wake up from the dream, I felt like I was dreaming instead. I didn’t quite understand the situation.

I frowned and fumbled around my eyes. My face was covered with all kinds of liquid, and now I saw that my vision was blurred and my eyes were burning.

“Oh, what?”

Only then did I realize I was spilling tears and a runny nose.

While I was panicking, Norma raised his upper body. It didn’t seem like the body movement of a man who had been sealed for decades. Raising his upper body, he was still absorbed in wiping my tears and runny nose with a careful touch.

I forgot the situation and looked at Norma like that. To be honest, I still couldn’t take my eyes off his eyes.

“Did he try to hurt you?”

“Uh… ah!”

I turned my head to the side, startled.

“Ah…”

A transparent film of brilliant gold was blocking out the black hands that were pouring at me, swarming in front of me through the transparent film as if they were about to jump on me.

“You you…! Norma Diaizi!”

Nyx shrieked, his face contorted in dismay.

Nyx stomped on the ground indignantly and began to run wildly this way.

Of course, he ran haphazardly, but the scene of dozens of new black hands rising wherever Nyx stepped inspired great fear.

Norma’s barrier trembled as if it were about to break.

“Hey, save me. Save me, Norma Diazi.”

I stammered like a fool as I watched the black hands clashing fiercely as if they were going to break through the barrier at any moment.

It was a word that omitted all logical persuasion because of the stiff tongue. There was also a lack of breath in the aftermath of the sobbing. Anyway, that was what I wanted to say the most right now.

“Lady, I’m ashamed, but I can’t get rid of that right now. I can only buy some time.”

Norma, who was still wiping my nose, whispered quickly to me in a calm tone. In the midst of all this, the voice was not so quiet but made me feel like I was in a cave.

“So forgive my rudeness, my lady.”

At the end of the sentence, Norma put his arm behind my thigh and around my back, regardless of my answer. Without a moment to say what he was doing, the upper body suddenly fell behind. My body was lifted up.

Before I even felt the shock of the so-called ‘Princess Embrace’, Norma took off.

Flying? Is this possible?

“Aah!…”

I screamed at the urgency of the situation.

“Close your eyes for a moment.”

I squeezed my eyes shut like a good-natured child, and then I felt weightlessness. At the same time a bright yellow light burst through my closed eyelids, and the whole world seemed to be filled with warm sunlight – Norma’s powers.

It was paradoxical that the harmony of the warm light and the world was about to perish.

Beep-

I buried my head in the arms of Norma, who was instinctively holding me, and endured the explosion, digging more and more into his arms like a person who couldn’t breathe.

In my heart, I wanted to pass out, but I couldn’t because I didn’t think I’d ever be able to open my eyes again.

I was sweating, as if the pain in my abdomen, which I could not remember properly, was coming back.

‘When will it be over? Am I alive?’

The light of Norma’s holy power was like thousands of fireworks, and I could not open my eyes to see the situation.

‘Oh shit. It hurts. I feel sick. I think my neck’s stuck… Don’t tell me, my stomach’s been pierced again?’

The thought made it harder to breathe, just as my breathing was getting rougher.

“Are you awake?”

A firm voice was heard. I opened my eyes and tried to see the owner of the voice. I just wanted to make sure I was alive.

But I couldn’t see anything, even though the blinding light was gone.

“Uh, ha… breathe, breathe…”

“… Excuse me.”

The hand, which had hesitated for a while, soon quickly loosened the front hem of the dress and began to tear it through. I could hear the seams being torn.

“Ah…”

As the dress opened out, I finally began to see the front little by little.

I rolled my eyes in a hazy mood, and the world I had never seen before was awe-inspiring. I could see the face of a beauty looking down at me against the high mountains where the sun had just risen.

I was tempted to think that I had met a celestial figure for a while after arriving in the afterlife, but soon I could remember that it was Norma Diazi.

Then I felt tears running down my temples. I fumbled and moved my hand, stroking the nape of my neck.

‘Haa, it’s stuck.’

The trembling hand then turned toward the abdomen.

“Uh… ah, I lived…”

I survived.

I fumbled hastily on the ground where I was lying. The damp grass and soil was caught on my clothes. Tears welled up. It’s been a long time since I’ve been so emotional, but the tears burst out unbearably.

“Sa, sal, uh huh, huh, crazy… ! I’m alive, really… ugh!”

I started crying again, ready to shed all the tears I had been holding back for 10 years.

‘Actually, I didn’t know how to live.’

Really, I thought I was going to die. That made me cry again.

“Uh, uh… uh, how do you do it! Ugh! Sa, uh, I lived… ! I’m alive, what should I do?”

“Yes, I am alive. I’m fine now.”

It all felt ridiculous, so I shook my head at Norma. It must have looked so dirty, but Norma wiped my tears and runny nose again with a friendly face like an angel.

For a moment, that person was a real god or something, and in fact, I even felt the anxiety that I was dead now.

“I don’t have a handkerchief because I’m not in perfect shape. Please forgive my rudeness.”

That’s not a problem. I shook my head incessantly and cried. The tears didn’t stop.

“Sometimes it’s good to cry out loud, but I’m worried that you might fall if you cry like this. Look at me and breathe.”

“Oh, my…! No, I’m alive. Really, really…I thought I was going to die…!”

I tried to imitate Norma, but it was hard to calm down. Norma looked at me with a slightly troubled expression, and after a little hesitation, he put a solid arm behind my back and thigh again.

“I’m not good at soothing anyone. However, I have a younger brother, and he calms down when I hug him like this.”

Norma, who held me in his arms again, was completely close to my upper body unlike before.

I was so surprised that I stopped breathing for a moment. He didn’t aim for this, but it was quite effective in getting out of hyperventilation.

After McFoy’s death, she had never had such intimate contact with another person. She had never even shaken hands with her bare hands before.

Of course, no one had ever held me so tightly that I could hear the sound of my heart. My body trembled vaguely. Hiccups broke out.

Norma patted me on the back, and my body began to shake as a large hand stroked my back, and my stiff shoulders began to weaken.

“Now, it’s all right.”

Norma repeated that it was all right, like a spell, and his voice sounded a little shaky, like he was speaking to himself.

I felt a sense of security as if it were the first time in my life that he would never let go.

‘Am I such a simple person?’

Soon the exhaustion came in. My body couldn’t hold out any longer, but I was anxious that I wouldn’t be able to wake up again when I closed my eyes. I fixed my dim eyes a few times.

“Close your eyes and rest for a while. I will protect you. You will not die.”

Norma must have sensed it again, because like a ghost, he told me what I wanted to hear, his voice so soft and caring that I could close my eyes for just a moment.

My mind drifted away quickly.

* * *

“Ophelia?”

Ophelia breathed heavily in Nicholas’ arms. Her face was blue.

“Ah, ah, ah…!”

Despite Nicholas’ efforts, Ophelia couldn’t come to her senses and let out a sigh.

“Ophelia, wake up. Look at me. It’s okay. Calm down..”

“Nicol… Nicolas. Maybe. Oh my God. How long have I been out? How long has it been since the foundation day?”

“It hasn’t been a day since McFoy was kidnapped by him. We’re still looking for her, but we’ll find her in no time. He wouldn’t have laid a hand on Aisa Mcfoy in the meantime.”

Nicholas said otherwise in the most positive tone possible.

“Oh no. I’m screwed. This time…! What should I do? This time now…!”

“Ophelia, what the hell- “

Nicholas was bewildered. She was usually very playful, but in a rather serious situation, she was the coolest and calmest.

But now, she was anxious, as if she had gone back to the time when we first met 10 years ago.

“I have to go now. Right now.”

“I know how you feel, but … I don’t even have a clue as to her whereabouts yet. “

Nicholas said as he grabbed Ophelia as she got up from her bed.

“I know, Nicholas. I know where Tantaros is. I am now…”

Ophelia said with tears in her eyes. Nicholas felt a pain in his heart as he saw the cold blue eyes filled with tears.

“If I had remembered it a little, a little sooner. Why now?”

Ophelia closed her eyes tightly. Tears fell profusely.
“Ophelia, what are you talking about…”

“Nicholas. I have to go right now. Even on my own, right now. I don’t have time to explain…”

Ophelia’s resolute expression was determined, more emotional than ever, but she was the usual Ophelia.

Nicholas saw the look on her face and quickly understood.

‘There’s a reason she’s acting like this, and the situation is very tense.’

“I’ll get right on it. Wait here a minute… Please. Please, Ophelia.”

Nicholas loved her more than life, but he could not deny that she had the temper of a foal.

Ophelia nodded quickly. Soon after Nicholas left the room with a quick step, Ophelia wrapped her head.

Of all the times….

She looked nervously out of the window, and it was still a long dark night.

“Please.”

Ophelia put her hands together and shook her head.

It was not a very long distance from the Diazi mansion in the center and the ecliptic to Tantaros on the border between the center and the northeast.

Nevertheless, it took close to four days, even though Nicholas’s powers could save a lot of time.

Ophelia felt terrible.

‘It’s already late.’

When she arrived near Tantaros, Ophelia was finally able to discover the barrier.

“… What happened?”

To be precise, it was a sign of a boundary. The fort, visible straight ahead, was shattered, and the building, completely torn down, looked more like a stone tomb.

It was Tantaros.

“Ophelia, this is “

“It’s so different. “

Ophelia murmured like a madwoman.

“It’s changed, Nicholas.”
