After Marrying the Lord of the Underworld

The Mocker

Lu Yingjiu subconsciously wanted to throw out the talisman, but at the moment the talisman was about to be thrown, he abruptly stopped.

The other party was a ghost, and his talisman might cause greater harm.

Moreover, it seemed that the woman was beyond saving.

The flesh and blood of the ghost also carried yin energy, and those moths were by no means ordinary. They turned her body into a nest, constantly absorbing and devouring her flesh and blood as nutrients to hatch themselves.

They spread their wings high, covering the entire room and corridor, leaving only the woman’s body to wither continuously, like a gorgeous rose turning into dust.

It was only then that her boyfriend reacted. He wanted to drive away the moths on her body, but it was too late—

He lunged at nothing, with only dust between his fingers, standing blankly in place.

Lu Yingjiu thought he was overwhelmed with grief, but saw that his face was very hollow.

This kind of emptiness was peculiar, humans should not have this kind of expression.

He muttered: “Forget it, if she’s dead, she’s dead. She was just a mental patient anyway.”

Lu Yingjiu: ?

Chen Xiaoling had just plucked up the courage to come in, and when she heard this, she was also full of confusion.

A few minutes ago they were still sweet-talking each other, and now suddenly they are so heartless, it’s really too split.

However…having two people with mental illnesses in the team in a row was probably not a coincidence. The man’s words and attitude were also suspicious.

The moths in the room were almost gone, the man killed a few with his bare hands, and then shook off the moth corpses from his hand with disgust.

Lu Yingjiu asked him, “May I ask, do you have any mental illnesses?”

“Me?” The man thought for a moment, “No, I don’t. Can mental illness be contagious?” After saying that, he clapped his hands, seemingly disgusted with the powder and mucus on his hands, and went into the bathroom to wash his hands.

Before Lu Yingjiu had time to examine the moth corpses carefully, he suddenly heard a scream!

The man crawled out in a panic, shouting, “Blood! There’s blood everywhere!!!”

Lu Yingjiu frowned and quickly walked into the bathroom.

He saw the faucet gushing out clear, transparent water, which had gathered almost half a pool in just a few seconds.

The other corners of the bathroom were clean. He asked, “Where is the blood you’re talking about?”

“Can’t you see it?!” The man’s eyes were almost bulging out, “In the sink! The water coming out of the faucet is all blood!!”

As soon as his words fell, the water in the sink began to surge out, as if it had a life of its own, flowing towards his feet.

He screamed, “Blood! Don’t come over ah ah ah!” He kept crawling back, even directly taking a sharp knife from the stove, waving it in his hand as if to cut off the water flow.

Obviously, it had no effect at all.

Squeak—

Lu Yingjiu turned off the faucet, casually picked up a towel to wipe the water splashed on his arm, walked out and said, “I turned off the faucet.”

The spread of the water stopped, but the man’s gaze was firmly on him, on the white towel in his hand.

He held the knife tightly, swallowed, “What are you holding in your hand?”

“A towel,” Lu Yingjiu said.

The man swallowed again, “What, what are you going to do with the towel, are you going to strangle me! Don’t come over! Stay away from me!!” After saying that, he even waved the sharp knife in his hand, pointing it at Lu Yingjiu, then at Chen Xiaoling and Jing Xian.

Lu Yingjiu: “…”

He thought to himself, you still have the nerve to say you’re not mentally ill, this paranoia is simply too much.

He walked over slowly, threw the towel aside, “Calm down, I have no intention of hurting you. But I want to ask, did something happen in the museum…”

Before he could finish his sentence, he saw the man’s eyes burning red, and with a scream, he rushed up, the blade in his hand pointed straight at Lu Yingjiu!

Chen Xiaoling was startled, but saw that Lu Yingjiu was not panicked at all, as if he had expected it—

But before he could throw out the talisman, the man suddenly flew sideways, as if he was slapped away by an invisible force.

Whoosh! He was slapped against the wall, like a fly swatted dead by a fly swatter, directly turning into a pool of blood mud.

Simple, brutal, and efficient.

Even as a ghost, he was dead beyond death.

This scene was too shocking, Chen Xiaoling’s pupils dilated in surprise, she covered her mouth and stepped back half a step, looking around.

Lu Yingjiu looked helplessly at Jing Xian and said, “Don’t be so violent, we might have been able to get something out of him.”

Jing Xian smiled and put his arm around him, “Who told him to be so blind. Why don’t we go check on the others?”

Lu Yingjiu nodded and looked at Chen Xiaoling, “Let’s go.”

Chen Xiaoling finally realized that it was Jing Xian who had acted just now. She was still in shock, blinking and saying, “You’re too fierce as a big demon. My previous eight-pack abs boyfriend ran faster than me when he saw a cockroach, totally unreliable.”

Lu Yingjiu just laughed.

But before he could take two steps, Jing Xian leaned in and whispered in his ear, “I told you before, I can be even more fierce at other times, are you sure you don’t want to try?”

“…Not for now.” Lu Yingjiu pushed his head away, “Walk properly, don’t think about these things during the day, aren’t you afraid of retribution for your daytime lewdness?”

“I don’t see you being lewd with me at night either.” Jing Xian complained, “Where is our wedding night?”

Lu Yingjiu “hmm”ed.

Just when Jing Xian thought he wouldn’t answer, Lu Yingjiu suddenly laughed, “When I’m happy, there might be a wedding night.” He patted Jing Xian’s shoulder, “I’ll specifically turn over Concubine Xian’s tablet then.” (TL: emperors before, in choosing which concubine to visit for the night, he will flip or turn over a cocubine’s tablet in a row of tablets)

Jing Xian was immediately satisfied, “When will you be happy?”

“That’s hard to say.” Lu Yingjiu shrugged.

The three of them continued to walk forward.

After this incident, Lu Yingjiu originally wanted to call out the other three ghosts and ask about the situation, but as soon as he returned to the lobby, he saw the three ghosts anxiously waiting there.

Lu Yingjiu’s sharp eyes swept over the lobby.

In just a short while, the layout of the lobby had changed: the corner of the front desk was stained with blood, there were red palm prints on the handset of the telephone, the sofa had been moved, several springs had popped out, making the plush toys on top look particularly terrifying.

The plush toys were all pink, probably belonging to a little girl.

And in the middle of the lobby, an old-fashioned projector appeared out of thin air, facing a blank wall.

“Master!” The team leader saw him and couldn’t help but shout, “Did you hear that scream just now, what happened? Is it that ghost coming back again!”

Lu Yingjiu nodded slightly, “Yes.”

“Ah!” The guide looked desperate, “I’m going to buy a plane ticket now and leave… I can’t stay here anymore!” After saying that, he leaned towards Lu Yingjiu, trembling as he took out his phone and started looking at plane and train tickets.

In fact, they were ghosts bound here and couldn’t leave.

The most Lu Yingjiu could do was to release their binds and send them back to the ghost world.

Jing Xian whispered in his ear, “Isn’t it just sending them back? I can do that too.”

“You’re sure to plaster them on the wall.” Lu Yingjiu glanced at him, “Too simple and brutal, since they have the intention to communicate, let’s listen to their situation.”

After saying that, he pointed to the projector in the middle of the hall, “What is this?”

“I’m not sure.” A man answered him tremblingly, “It was there when we came down, no one dared to touch it.”

Lu Yingjiu walked up and turned on the projector.

The projector kept turning, and a bright light immediately appeared on the wall, so bright that nothing could be seen clearly. After a few dozen seconds, the projection trembled, and a picture appeared—

Rainy Day Museum.

The angle of the camera was very strange, like a video taken secretly from a certain angle.

A group of tourists walked into the museum.

The guide suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the picture, “Isn’t that me!”

The guide in the video, indeed, was holding the same little red flag and had the same figure as him. And following closely behind him was a young couple, Lu Yingjiu carefully recognized them, and found that they were the two ghosts who had just died.

They walked through room after room, and the murmuring voices came, “Ah this illness is so strange, how can anyone get this kind of illness?”

“Hahahaha they really have problems with their brains—”

“Suicide? How can anyone commit suicide because they’re not feeling well, in my opinion, they’re just trying to gain sympathy, just finding excuses. They can’t handle pressure, they’re too fragile.”

When they got upstairs, to the place introducing the fear of moths, the woman laughed even more exaggeratedly, “Hahahaha I’m so amused, do you know, I used to have a classmate who was afraid of moths. I specifically went out to catch several, and put them in her collar during evening self-study. Can you believe it, because of those few moths, she was scared into going to the hospital!”

“Really? That’s too exaggerated!” The man also laughed.

He looked around and suddenly pointed to the pool next to him.

The faucet in the pool was running water, but red pigment was added to the water, making it look like blood.

He said, “This is also very strange, how can people be afraid of washing their faces and hands properly, do these people still want to live?”

“Exactly.” The woman laughed.

By the end of the tour, they had mocked everything they could mock.

The other tourists were already frowning in displeasure, but the tour guide, who had heard everything, did not stop them, but laughed along with them.

Their attitude was extremely frivolous.

The picture flickered a few times, and two photos flashed out.

One was of the woman surrounded by moths, screaming hysterically, her face twisted.

The other was of the man washing his hands, but the sink was full of blood, and countless bloody hands were reaching out to grab his throat.

The things they had mocked and despised had finally come back to haunt them.

The photos shocked everyone, their faces pale.

Lu Yingjiu sighed lightly, understanding immediately, the others must have also mocked those patients heavily.

If he guessed correctly, they also carried mental illnesses and would die because of it.

Sure enough, the projector moved on to the next scene, showing the other tourists.

“Mental illness, how can it be called an illness, isn’t it just a malfunctioning brain?”

“This illness is so funny hahaha.”

“How can these people’s brains work, how can they be afraid of this?”

“If this was my child, I would have beaten him to death…”

One by one, words from the past pierced their hearts like knives.

But there was no guilt on their faces, only pure fear.

Seeing this scene, the tour guide was even more desperate, sitting directly on the ground, muttering, “No, no, I didn’t mean that at the time… I, I’ve bought my plane ticket, I’m leaving here now…”

He was in a state of disarray, almost stumbling towards the outside of the guest house.

The door of the guest house was locked, he touched the handle, and suddenly exclaimed!

“It’s so hot!” He shouted.

This was not his illusion, the air near the door had slightly distorted, as if there was a rolling heat wave behind the door.

“Is there a fire outside!” The guide cried out, “Isn’t there a street outside, how could it be on fire?! Let me out!”

He turned his head abruptly, his gaze fell on Lu Yingjiu. “Master! Please help us!”

Lu Yingjiu shrugged. “I can’t help.”

The guest house fire had happened before, he couldn’t change it.

The team guide was almost crazy, another tourist hurriedly handed him a towel, and the two of them pulled the door hard together.

The person with obsessive-compulsive disorder of locking doors just watched the show next to him, clapping his hands and shouting. “Good! Good! This door is locked!”

“Good your ass!” The team guide gritted his teeth and cursed, “Come and help quickly!”

“This door is locked, I don’t want it!” The obsessive-compulsive disorder continued to clap his hands and laughed, “The lock is good, the lock is perfect!”

The situation was very chaotic for a while, the two of them pulled the door, and the blue veins on their foreheads and arms burst. The projector was still playing, and the people in the picture opened and closed their mouths. “Look at their struggling looks, it’s so funny!”

“Living so hard, why not die?”

“Hahaha, isn’t it a relief to die!”

The words they had said were so ironic at this time.

The heat of the doorknob came through the towel, and under their desperate power, the door made a “creak” sound.

Then it opened with a bang!

The heat wave swept over everyone in an instant, and the light drowned everything.

The guest house turned into a sea of fire, and the red light rushed to the sky. In the rolling flames, the three people struggled and wailed on the ground, screaming.

In contrast, Lu Yingjiu’s side was simply peaceful.

Without waiting for him to make a move, Jing Xian lightly snapped his fingers, and the flames automatically retreated, and even the heat could not come over. He didn’t forget to hug Lu Yingjiu’s waist at this time, raised his eyebrows and said, “How about it, your husband is amazing, right?”

“Amazing, amazing.” Lu Yingjiu perfunctorily said, “If you have the time, help me pull those three ghosts over, I don’t want them to die so quickly and go to the ghost world.”

“Don’t worry.” Jing Xian said, “They won’t die.”

As soon as his voice fell, everyone’s eyes were blurred.

The raging sea of fire disappeared without a trace, replaced by cold air.

After the scorching heat, this temperature could be described as bone-chilling.

The guide had large burns on his body, which were hideous and terrifying. If he wasn’t a ghost, he might have fainted long ago.

He shivered and looked up, screaming.

—They unexpectedly were back in the museum’s lobby.

The moonlight was bleak.

Only to see that two-story high patient self-portrait, each one turned its eyes round and round, looking down at them from above.
