After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

Don't Have to Be So Polite With Me

Seeing Jiang Wan Yu’s anxious and self-blaming look, Lin Yi Chen immediately said in a deep voice, “Don’t worry, the hospital is nearby, and Dian Dian will be fine.”

Hearing Lin Yi Chen’s reassuring tone, Jiang Wan Yu’s panicked heart unintentionally calmed down a bit.

Soon, she regained some composure and nodded. “Yes.”

At that moment, the elevator reached the basement level.

As the elevator doors opened, Lin Yi Chen quickly walked to his car, carrying Dian Dian. Jiang Wan Yu didn’t hesitate either and got into the car, cradling Dian Dian in her arms.

Lin Yi Chen soon started the car, and twenty minutes later, they arrived at Jiangcheng Hospital.

After Dian Dian was examined by a pediatrician, he was prescribed medication, and his condition stabilized quickly.

When Jiang Wan Yu heard that Dian Dian was okay, her tense nerves finally relaxed, and she felt a sense of exhaustion.

Suddenly, Lin Yi Chen’s rough hand firmly grasped her cold exposed arm.

“It’s okay now, Dian Dian is fine. You don’t need to worry,” Lin Yi Chen comforted in a low voice.

“Okay,” Jiang Wan Yu exhaled and gently pulled her arm away from Lin Yi Chen’s grasp. She stood up and steadied herself.

Seeing her reaction, Lin Yi Chen’s eyes darkened for a moment. However, he turned to Jiang Wan Yu and said, “You should rest in the ward. I’ll go get some breakfast for you.”

The sudden incident had disrupted their breakfast plans, and he thought they might be hungry.

Jiang Wan Yu didn’t want to face Lin Yi Chen at the moment, so she nodded and said, “Thank you.”

“You don’t have to be so polite with me,” Lin Yi Chen said before leaving the hospital.

Jiang Wan Yu took a deep breath after he left, then entered Dian Dian’s ward.

Dian Dian was lying on the hospital bed and his eyes brightened when he saw her. “Mom, you’re here! Where’s uncle?”

“He’s gone to buy us breakfast. It’s all my fault. I didn’t know about your peanut allergy,” Jiang Wan Yu blamed herself.

But as soon as she said this, a thought flashed in her mind. She remembered Lin Yi Chen’s immediate reaction when Dian Dian showed allergy symptoms. How could he have known so quickly? Could it be…

But she shook her head vigorously, dismissing the idea. It was impossible. She must be overthinking things.

However, her gaze involuntarily shifted between Dian Dian’s face and her memories of Lin Yi Chen’s face.

The more she looked, the more she noticed the striking resemblance between Dian Dian’s eyes and eyebrows and Lin Yi Chen’s.

For a moment, Jiang Wan Yu squeezed her hands together tightly.

But Dian Dian, seeing his mother lost in thought then shaking her head, looked worried. “Mom, what’s wrong? When are we going to see Dad?”

Jiang Wan Yu snapped back to reality, her face turning slightly pale. “We’ll go see your dad once you’re feeling better. He’s at another hospital, but he’ll get better soon.”

Just as she finished speaking, her phone rang. She lowered her head and saw that it was a call from Yi Lingfeng.
