At half past seven, Lin Haowei walked up to the podium.

Lin Haowei smiled at the expectant gazes of the audience and then took out a list to read aloud.

The banquet hall which had fallen silent, suddenly came to life again.
Meanwhile, the members of the ladies’ group exchanged bewildered glances and then looked cautiously at Sun Wei.
“Mrs. Sun, did Mr. Lin forget to mention Gu’s Group? I didn’t hear the name,” one of them asked.
“I didn’t hear it either. I thought my ears were playing tricks on me!” another lady chimed in.
They had planned to flatter Sun Wei further when Lin Haowei announced Gu’s Group, but they had heard nothing.
One person might mishear, but when several people failed to hear Gu’s Group’s name, it seemed to indicate that the Gu family wasn’t among the collaborators chosen by the Lin family.
At that moment, the expressions of those ladies changed as they looked at Sun Wei.

The ladies’ group didn’t know why, and Sun Wei herself was unaware of the reason.
