After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

I Will Consider It Carefully

Upon hearing Jiang Wan Yu’s question, the man hesitated for a moment.

“Why would I save you if you don’t remember me?” The man’s attitude took a somewhat sinister turn.

Jiang Wan Yu couldn’t help but rack her brain, trying to remember when she had met someone named Jiang Ye. However, aside from sharing the same surname, she couldn’t find any useful information to connect the dots.

Strangely, though, she did feel a familiar aura emanating from this man.

She pursed her lips and then shifted her gaze to the man’s silver mask. The mask exuded a cold vibe, but through the eyes behind it, Jiang Wan Yu sensed a hint of gentleness.

“But… I don’t remember you,” she softly admitted.

“It’s okay. Someday, you will remember,” the man replied, seemingly unconcerned about whether she recollected their past acquaintance.

Jiang Wan Yu paused, and felt intrigued. Could it be that this man was someone she knew? Yet, she had no recollection whatsoever.

“Can’t you tell me now?” she asked.

The man’s tone slightly hardened. “It’s not the right time.”

He knew that revealing his identity too soon might jeopardize his approach to her.

Jiang Wan Yu reluctantly accepted his answer.

Half an hour later, the convoy arrived at Jiang Wan Yu’s residence.

“Leader, we’ve arrived!” the suited driver announced.

The man turned to Jiang Wan Yu and said, “We’re at your home.”

She nodded in gratitude and prepared to exit the vehicle.

At this moment, the man asked, “What are your plans next? Do you still want to continue working as an andrologist? I suggest you reconsider.”

His tone hinted at a certain bitterness when mentioning her profession.

She gave him a faint smile and replied, “Thank you for your advice. I will consider it carefully.”

Anyway, apart from her medical doctorate, she had intentionally filled her schedule back then to forget her pain. She even pursued an MBA degree according to her father’s wish.

If she can’t be a doctor, she can always go into business.

Seeing that Jiang Wan Yu said she would consider, the man sighed with relief.

“Alright, take your time to think. I’m not looking down on your profession, it’s just that as a young woman in this field, it can harm your reputation and even jeopardize your safety,” the man explained, fearing she might misunderstand.

Jiang Wan Yu smiled faintly upon hearing this. “I understand what you mean. Goodbye!”

With that, she pushed the car door shut and proceeded towards the entrance of her residential complex.

Meanwhile, the man in the car removed his silver mask, revealing his face as Lin Yi Chen. However, his expression wasn’t pleasant. During his encounter with Xu Wen Hu earlier, his wound had reopened due to his excessive movements.

At this moment, the driver in front asked, “Leader, your wound opened again?”

Lin Yi Chen responded with a simple humming before leaning back in his seat and saying, “Take me back to the hospital.”

“Understood.”

Back at the Xu residence, Xu Wen Jing was anxiously awaiting good news about her brother. Little did she know that instead of good news, she would receive a call informing her that her brother had been assaulted.

“Who dares to do this? Who would dare to touch my brother?” Xu Wen Jing’s face contorted with anger, and she couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease.

The Xu family might not be a top-tier powerhouse in Jiangcheng, but due to their connection with the Lin family, people usually showed them respect. Now, her brother had been attacked in Jiangcheng, and that was something she couldn’t tolerate.

I couldn’t agree more. He seems like ML material too with the ‘mysterious and cold, but caring too’ kinda vibe.
