After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

Your Time Has Come

Hearing Zhang Wei’s words, Jiang Wan Yu had an uneasy premonition. Soon enough, her premonition became reality.

Zhang Wei kicked open the door to the examination room, and several police officers followed him inside.

“Are you Jiang Wan Yu? Someone has reported you for practicing medicine recklessly, endangering public health. Please come with us!” one of the police officers said coldly, eyeing Jiang Wan Yu.

Zhang Wei chimed in, “Officer Zhou, that’s right! I’m the one who had an issue after taking her prescribed medicine!” He clutched his stomach and began moaning in apparent pain.

Seeing this, Officer Zhou, the team leader, took out handcuffs and approached Jiang Wan Yu.

“You come with us! And bring your medical license too! Charlatans like you have no business deceiving people and risking lives,” Officer Zhou said, glaring at Jiang Wan Yu behind her mask.

Assistant Xiao Li was feeling outraged, couldn’t hold back and said, “This is slander! Dr. Jiang is a medical doctor with a Ph.D., and she has a valid medical license and degree from an internationally recognized institution. How can you call her a charlatan?”

This remark earned Xiao Li a stern look from Officer Zhou. “It seems like you’re all in this together. We’re taking you both in!”

Xiao Li’s expression turned anxious.

At this moment, Jiang Wan Yu calmly said, “Officer, if you have a problem with me, deal with me alone. Don’t involve innocent people. I’ll cooperate and go with you.”

Officer Zhou sneered, “Are you trying to teach me how to do my job? Come with us!”

Two police officers came forward and handcuffed both Jiang Wan Yu and Assistant Xiao Li, forcibly taking them away from the hospital.

The hospital’s director rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion. Seeing Jiang Wan Yu and Xiao Li being arrested, he approached the situation. “What’s going on here?”

“These two individuals have been reported for reckless medical practices that harmed a patient. We’re taking them to the police station for questioning,” Officer Zhou replied.

The director hastily added, “But Dr. Jiang holds a legitimate medical license from country M, and she has a Ph.D. Her qualifications are unquestionable.”

Officer Zhou coldly retorted, “What if those documents are fake? I suggest you don’t interfere too much in this matter. Your private hospital might not survive if you do.”

The director, realizing the implications, quickly stepped back and said, “Well, in that case, please go ahead with your investigation. If Dr. Jiang’s credentials are legitimate, she will be released soon.”

Officer Zhou ignored their protests and left with Jiang Wan Yu and Xiao Li.

Outside the hospital, two police cars were parked. Just as Jiang Wan Yu was about to be escorted into one of them, a black Land Rover roared onto the scene.

Moments later, Xu Wen Hu who’s accompanied by several individuals, stepped out of the vehicle. They blocked the police cars with determined air.

“Jiang Wan Yu, it seems your time has come,” Xu Wen Hu said menacingly. He lit a cigar, squinting as he looked at Jiang Wan Yu’s delicate face.

“It might be your lucky day. If you’re willing to spend the night with me, I might consider helping you out of this trouble. What do you say?” he added with a sly grin.

After several years apart, she had become even more charming. No wonder Wen Jing felt an overwhelming sense of crisis as soon as she saw her return.
