After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

I Can Certainly Retire

When Jiang Wan Yu arrived at the VIP ward door as the director had mentioned, she had a strong feeling that her intuition was correct.

At this moment, the corridor outside the ward was crowded with entertainment reporters who had somehow managed to sneak in. Among them stood Xu Wen Jing, who was currently being interviewed.

“Miss Xu, we heard that you and Mr. Lin are about to tie the knot. Can you share more details about the wedding date?”

“Miss Xu, how did Mr. Lin get injured this time? Is his condition severe?”

“Miss Xu, after you and Mr. Lin get married, will you retire from the entertainment industry?”

“Today, you deliberately wore a scarf. Is it to conceal any marks on your neck that you don’t want us to see?”

As the reporters bombarded Xu Wen Jing with questions, she gracefully played with her long hair, pretending to be embarrassed, and used her hair to conceal her neck even more.

Then, with a sweet and syrupy voice full of happiness, she responded, “Of course, once the wedding date is confirmed, I will make sure to inform all our media friends.”

“After we get married, if Ah Chen doesn’t want me to continue appearing in public, I can certainly retire from the entertainment industry and be a full-time wife!”

Xu Wen Jing’s responses were confident and well-practiced. Her deliberate movements with the scarf only piqued the reporters’ curiosity further. However, despite their eagerness, they were wary of crossing any lines, considering her status as Lin Yi Chen’s fiance.

But just letting Xu Wen Jing leave was not an option.

Observing Xu Wen Jing, Jiang Wan Yu couldn’t help but make a call to the hospital’s security department. “Security, there’s a group of entertainment reporters on the VIP floor causing a disturbance. It’s severely affecting the rest of our valued clients. Please come up immediately and handle the situation.”

She then hung up the phone, and within moments, a group of tall security guards in uniform arrived, escorting the reporters out of the corridor.

Once the corridor was cleared, Xu Wen Jing saw Jiang Wan Yu, who was wearing a white coat, but she ignored her presence and continued toward the ward where Lin Yi Chen was admitted.

Witnessing this, Jiang Wan Yu simply bypassed Xu Wen Jing and headed straight for Lin Yi Chen’s room. When she saw that, Xu Wen Jing extended her arm to block Jiang Wan Yu, speaking sternly, “What are you doing here? Don’t you think you’ve harmed Ah Chen enough?”

Jiang Wan Yu cast a chilly glance at Xu Wen Jing’s neck, instantly recalling the memory of almost strangling her. Her arm instinctively recoiled, and she took a step back.

Realizing she had unintentionally revealed her fear of Jiang Wan Yu, Xu Wen Jing’s expression turned annoyed.

In the next moment, she urgently shouted toward the room, “Ah Chen! Please come and help me! Jiang Wan Yu, that wicked woman, is here!”

Inside the room, Lin Yi Chen heard Xu Wen Jing’s words, and his eyes displayed a hint of ruthlessness.

With a stern expression, he turned to Xu Ce and said, “Open the door.”

“Yes, Boss!”

After the door was opened, Xu Wen Jing with a teary-eyed expression, rushed toward Lin Yi Chen’s hospital bed while her high heels clacking on the floor.

Meanwhile, Jiang Wan Yu was holding a medical kit, maintaining an emotionless gaze as she looked at Xu Ce.
