After the nurse left, Xu Ce carefully asked, “Boss, where did you go just now?”
Seeing the way he looked earlier, could it be that he went to see his wife and got injured by her again? If so, his wife must be quite extraordinary.

But then, noticing Xu Ce’s curious gaze, Lin Yi Chen narrowed his eyes dangerously. “Do you have too much free time? Is the plan you were supposed to work on ready?”
This question startled Xu Ce, and he quickly retrieved another document from his folder. “It’s ready! There’s nothing more important than getting your wife back as soon as possible, so I skipped lunch to prepare this plan for you. Please take a look.”
Lin Yi Chen took the plan but wore a displeased expression. “Is this your plan?”
The plan included bold actions like forcibly kissing her, pinning her against the wall, and pretending to be sick or injured.
How was he supposed to implement this plan with all his injuries? He thought bitterly.
Xu Ce defended his plan, “Boss, don’t think this plan is absurd. The main issue between you and your wife right now is a misunderstanding. Once that’s resolved, and she understands your intentions, implementing these steps will easily win her heart back.”
However, Lin Yi Chen knew it wouldn’t be so simple. He admitted, “She won’t even look at me now.”
After hearing Lin Yi Chen’s words, Xu Ce couldn’t hide his sympathy which caused Lin Yi Chen’s expression to darken even more.
Quickly shifting the conversation, Xu Ce suggested, “Well, Boss, there’s a simple solution. Since you’re injured, you can request your wife to take care of you. She’s a doctor in this hospital, and having her as your attending physician is entirely reasonable.”
Lin Yi Chen retorted, “She’s a urologist!”
Xu Ce shrugged, “What’s the problem? As long as she’s a doctor at this hospital, other arrangements can be made.”
Seeing Xu Ce’s confidence, Lin Yi Chen had a wicked thought so he said, “If you find it so simple, then you handle it.”
Xu Ce eagerly agreed, “Okay! Expect good news from me soon, Boss!”
Meanwhile, Jiang Wan Yu had just finished with another patient. She discarded her medical gloves expressionlessly and was about to call the next patient when her internal phone rang. It was the hospital director.
“Dr. Jiang, we have a VIP patient in the ward with some underlying health issues. They specifically requested you to attend to them. The patient is currently hospitalized, so you’ll be their dedicated physician during their stay. This is extra work, so the hospital will compensate you accordingly. That’s all.”
The director’s words left Jiang Wan Yu with no choice but to accept.
Furthermore, on her first day back at work, she inadvertently stirred up significant trouble. If this incident were to make headlines, it could seriously harm the hospital’s reputation.
The hospital’s dean’s decision not to dismiss her was already an act of kindness extended to its limits.
However, she couldn’t shake the feeling that this new assignment had something to do with Lin Yi Chen.
