After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

The Child Is Still Alive

Lin Yi Chen felt a deep, piercing hatred in Jiang Wan Yu’s eyes.

Once, her gaze towards him had always been gentle, with stars sparkling within.

But now… all that remained was resentment and disgust.

Yet, he knew that it was entirely his own fault.

His jaw clenched, and he leaned closer to Jiang Wan Yu, saying, “So what if I’m here? Can’t I cut in line?”

“No! Please leave immediately, or I’ll call security!” Jiang Wan Yu coldly chased him away.

She reached for the internal phone to make the call, but before her fingers could touch it, a firm and warm hand stopped her.

Jiang Wan Yu tried to break free but was caught by Lin Yi Chen, their fingers intertwined.

Once again holding these soft hands, Lin Yi Chen let out a satisfied sigh.

Afraid that Jiang Wan Yu would escape, he involuntarily tightened his grip and spoke with a gentle low voice which hinting at a trace of amusement, “It’s been years, and you’ve become as feisty as a wildcat.”

Seeing Lin Yi Chen flirt with her at this moment, Jiang Wan Yu’s chest heaved with anger.

Why was he so shameless?

Back when she cared about him, he didn’t want her. Now that she had stabbed him twice, he was actively coming to find her?

Were all men this despicable?

She glared fiercely at Lin Yi Chen and reached for a surgical knife again.

Seeing her about to cut herself, Lin Yi Chen still didn’t let go. Instead, he suddenly lowered his voice and said, “The child didn’t die!”

Jiang Wan Yu’s hand froze, and the surgical knife fell onto the desk with a clatter.

Lin Yi Chen quickly picked up the knife with his other hand.

Only now did Jiang Wan Yu realize, her eyes wide and said, “Are you lying to me?”

“No! Regardless of anything, that’s still my child. How could I let anything happen to him? I sent the child to a safe place, and he’s doing well now!” Lin Yi Chen took advantage of her momentary lapse in vigilance to gently caress Jiang Wan Yu’s fair fingertips with his own. His body drew closer.

Jiang Wan Yu could feel Lin Yi Chen’s warm breath on her face, his eyes captivating. But at this moment, she had no interest in anything else. She only wanted to know about the child’s whereabouts.

“But Xu Wen Jing said the child was torn apart by stray dogs. How do I know if you’re telling the truth?” Jiang Wan Yu questioned.

Who knew if this was one of his schemes?

“What benefit do I gain from lying to you? Xiaoyu, you should know my character. Whatever I do, I won’t deny it.” Lin Yi Chen said in a warm voice.

“Hmph! Mr. Lin, do I really know you? What kind of person you are, how would I know? If you want me to believe you, it’s simple. Let me see the child right now, or at the very least, show me a photo!” Jiang Wan Yu mocked.

Lin Yi Chen’s wounds deepened by her thorny demeanor.

But at least, she was willing to face him now.

“I can only tell you that the child is still alive. You will know where he is someday, but now is not the time.” Lin Yi Chen looked at Jiang Wan Yu with eyes as deep as a vortex.

It had been four years, and he had thought that even after their divorce that she would still be nearby and allow him to see her at any time.

But she had gone abroad with Gu Jinyan in the blink of an eye!

God knew how hard he had struggled back then just to prevent himself from going to the airport and dragging her back!

“Xiaoyu” is used as a term of endearment when addressing someone, akin to calling them “sweetie” or “darling” in English, but it’s not as common.
