After Divorce, I Became Pregnant With My Ex-Husband's Child

Chasing Wife to the Crematorium

As Lin Yi Chen observed Xu Wen Jing’s deep-seated hatred for Jiang Wan Yu, a trace of coldness flashed across his face.

He then said to Xu Wen Jing, “I will handle this matter myself. You’ve been through a shock, so please rest at home for the next few days.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Wen Jing quickly shook her head and replied, “No, I want to stay here with you until you recover!”

“Alright, Wen Jing, you still have an injury on your neck. If you stay here, you’ll only worry about me,” Lin Yi Chen gently persuaded, his right hand lightly brushing Xu Wen Jing’s long hair, his eyes seemingly filled with deep affection.

Under his captivating gaze, Xu Wen Jing felt her body weaken. She couldn’t help but regret in her heart: if only she had known that Lin Yi Chen would inherit the Lin family’s fortune, she wouldn’t have followed that African tribal leader back then, becoming pregnant with his child and almost unable to return.

“Okay, Ah Chen, I won’t disturb your rest. Don’t worry about me. The doctor said my neck will be fine as long as I apply some ointment,” Xu Wen Jing replied, her eyes filled with charm as she looked at Lin Yi Chen.

“Alright, go back and get some rest!” Lin Yi Chen nodded.

After Xu Wen Jing left the hospital room, Lin Yi Chen immediately picked up his phone and called his secretary, Xu Ce, sounding somewhat anxious, “How is Jiang Wan Yu now?”

“Boss, Madam is still at the police station. Mr. Lin personally called the police chief, so they won’t allow a lawyer to bail her out,” Xu Ce replied.

Lin Yi Chen’s eyes turned cold. “How did he find out about my injury?”

“It was the Xu family who called and informed him.”

Lin Yi Chen’s face grew even colder, and in the next moment, his voice lowered as he said, “You personally go to the police station and explain everything. Tell them it’s all a misunderstanding and ask them to release Jiang Wan Yu immediately.”

“But how should I explain it to Mr. Lin?”

“I will handle that myself,” Lin Yi Chen said with a stern expression.

“Understood, Boss!”

By this time, Jiang Wan Yu had already woken up in the detention center. She had hardly slept all night.

Every time she closed her eyes, she heard the horrifying screams of her child being torn apart by the savage dogs and saw the bloody scene.

When Xu Ce arrived, she was leaning against the detention center wall.

“Jiang Wan Yu, you can leave now.” After the iron gate opened, a police officer came over and removed her handcuffs.

Jiang Wan Yu stood up, stretching her stiff limbs. Her pale face was slightly swollen from the slap Lin Yi Chen had given her the previous day.

Once she stepped outside, she saw Xu Ce.

“Madam, Boss asked me to come and explain. You are safe now,” Xu Ce said.

After hearing Xu Ce still address her as “Madam,” Jiang Wan Yu replied calmly, “I am no longer the Lin family’s young mistress.”

Xu Ce responded with a slight smirk but didn’t press the matter, saying, “Alright, Miss Jiang.”

Then he added, “Boss’ surgery was successful. Your two stabs were in relatively safe places, and he’s no longer in life-threatening danger.”

At this, Jiang Wan Yu sneered, “He’s indeed lucky.”

With that, she headed toward the police station’s exit.

Xu Ce watched her thin and fragile figure and then picked up his phone to call Lin Yi Chen.

“Boss, Madam has left the police station. She said you’re lucky,” Xu Ce reported, his voice devoid of any particular emotion, but Lin Yi Chen could sense a hint of schadenfreude.

Should have told the plan to your wife back then, but you didn’t listen. Now, see what’s happened? Chasing wife to the crematorium, right?

Tsk!

Of course Wen Jing’s child wasn’t Yi Chen’s.

After reading so many novels, intuition is sharpened.
