After Being Preached by my Senior Martial Brother

First Encounter (part 2.1)

Qi Zhuoyu stared at him and laughed, then took a bite of the fruit with its shell, ruthlessly commenting. “Tastes bad.”

Although he said it tasted bad, he still finished all the fruits in the half bird shell that the little phoenix had pushed to him, without leaving any.

The little phoenix was originally just eating his own portion on the side.

After eating half, he secretly glanced at Qi Zhuoyu.

He was leaning against the rock, covered in blood.

From earlier until now, it seemed that the bleeding had not stopped, as if all the blood in his body was going to be drained.

Although the little phoenix had just been born, the instincts ingrained in living beings also allowed him to know.

A person did not have so much blood to lose, if this continued his primordial spirit would dissipate.

The little phoenix tilted his head and watched for a while, hesitating for a moment.

Then he wagged his tail and dragged over his own share of delicious fruits, using his head to push them in front of Qi Zhuoyu.

His movements weren’t particularly big.

But it was too quiet on the cliff of the Chaotic Sea, with a heavy atmosphere of death mixed in the silence.

So no matter what the little phoenix did, it was particularly noticeable in this deathly stillness.

It was like injecting the only bit of vitality into a gloomy painting. Like a small spark of fire, in the gray and hazy Chaotic Sea, it appeared particularly striking and dazzling, making it difficult for people not to notice him.

“Chirp.” The little phoenix poked his head out from behind the bird shell, reminding Qi Zhuoyu.

Qi Zhuoyu glanced at him and said coldly, “Not eating.”

“Chirp chirp!” The little phoenix flapped his wings and jumped twice, then stuck out his tongue and fell to the ground, imitating a dead little bird.

“This Venerable has a special body, wounds can heal, won’t die even without eating,” Qi Zhuoyu spoke, then said, “I’m already full.”

“Besides. Do you think this Venerable is like you, a little fat bird that would starve to death if it missed one meal?”

The little phoenix stood up again, fluttered onto his hand, and then “peck peck peck” pecked him.

Looking quite fierce.

“You were born fat, why won’t you let this Venerable say it.” Qi Zhuoyu frowned, but didn’t withdraw his hand.

The little phoenix got tired of pecking, realizing this person’s skin was too thick, pecking for so long without leaving any marks.

When encountering difficulties, just give up.

This was the first bird life lesson the little bird learned after being born.

He sat facing away from Qi Zhuoyu, a bit angry.

From Qi Zhuoyu’s angle, he could only see an orange ball of fluff, with cheeks slightly puffed out. The tail feathers were no longer held high like before, but lay flat on the ground, looking a bit unhappy.

For a long time, the little phoenix sat like this, motionless.

Suddenly, Qi Zhuoyu stared at his back with interest.

Seeing that he really wasn’t talking anymore, he felt inexplicably irritated. “That bird.”

He didn’t know what this little fat bird was called.

“Really not going to eat?”

Qi Zhuoyu nudged the bird shell placed beside him with his hand, the fruits inside also shaking with his movement.

The little phoenix still had no reaction.

Qi Zhuoyu clicked his tongue in annoyance.

After a while, he finally spoke. “This Venerable didn’t say you were fat.”

Probably because he had never comforted anyone before, ah no, comforted a bird.

When Qi Zhuoyu said this, his voice was a bit unnatural, very low, “You’re not fat either. You just have a lot of feathers.”

The little phoenix still didn’t move.

Qi Zhuoyu waited and waited, finally becoming impatient.

What kind of bird was this, so small, yet with such a big temper.

He grabbed his tail, about to drag him back.

But the moment he touched the little phoenix’s feathers, the little phoenix collapsed into his palm, soft and fluffy.

Qi Zhuoyu leaned in for a closer look.

The little phoenix had closed his eyes, breathing evenly, already asleep.

He: “…”

How could there be such a strange bird in the world.

Even while sulking with someone, he could fall asleep in the middle of it.

****

Qi Zhuoyu thought this little fat bird would know better and leave.

But unexpectedly, after waking up, he acted as if nothing had happened, flapping his wings and going to find fruits to eat again.

As if there were no other important things in his bird life.

Just eat and sleep, sleep and eat.

Every time he went to pick fruits in the withered forest next door, he always remembered to pick two portions.

One portion for himself, one portion for Qi Zhuoyu. Unlike before, Qi Zhuoyu glanced at the fruits left for him, which had now been changed to sweet and delicious fruits without shells.

This little bird seemed to have forgotten why he was angry after waking up from a nap.

He had found a clean little puddle from somewhere, not far from the rock where Qi Zhuoyu was resting.

After finishing the fruits, the little phoenix splashed into the small puddle to start bathing. His feathers were a mess due to hiding in Qi Zhuoyu’s arms earlier, stained with Qi Zhuoyu’s blood, many beautiful feathers tangled.

Grooming his feathers seemed even more important than eating fruits.

The little phoenix splashed in that small puddle for at least half an hour before coming out, shaking his feathers, becoming that beautiful little phoenix who had just hatched again.

He hopped around by the puddle, secretly admiring his tail feathers.

Qi Zhuoyu stared at him for a while, then stood up.

At this moment, he suddenly didn’t want to lie here waiting for death anymore.

The little phoenix was still admiring himself in the puddle.

Qi Zhuoyu had already walked up to him. “Come here.”

The little phoenix raised his head and looked at him. “Chirp?”

“This Venerable is going to the mortal realm,” Qi Zhuoyu calmly announced.

Seeing him reach out his hand, the little phoenix felt that this strange “father” probably wanted him to come along.

However, he looked at Qi Zhuoyu’s blood-covered body, then remembered his own freshly washed feathers.

Looking down at his fluffy, dry, and soft feathers.

The little phoenix hesitated. “Chirp…”

Qi Zhuoyu frowned, but spoke. “What, are you afraid?”

It wasn’t really fear.

He just thought “father” was very dirty and would soil his feathers.

Qi Zhuoyu remembered his delicate and vain nature.

Running to that small puddle to groom his feathers before dawn, his face immediately darkened. “You think this Venerable is dirty?”

The little phoenix whistled, his gaze drifting. “Chirp chirp~ Chirp chirp~”

Qi Zhuoyu: “…”

As a naturally born deity, the Demon God had lived for so long, probably for the first time being considered dirty by someone.

He felt both angry and amused, thinking he should teach this ignorant little fat bird a lesson.

Feng Xuan’s animal instinct instantly proved true.

He hurriedly flapped his wings, obediently crouching on Qi Zhuoyu’s shoulder.

“Weren’t you just complaining about it being dirty?” Qi Zhuoyu spoke.

It was indeed a bit earlier.

But sitting on Qi Zhuoyu’s shoulder, the little phoenix no longer had that feeling. His attention was completely drawn to this brand new perspective, so high! From hatching until now, he had never flown to such a high place.

He was silent for too long, and Qi Zhuoyu’s expression suddenly became irritated.

The next second, a cool sensation passed over the little phoenix’s cheeks.

Before he could react, he felt the strong smell of blood on his nose tip disappear without a trace.

Qi Zhuoyu had used a cleaning spell, removing all the blood stains from his body.

Even his clothes had unknowingly changed to a new set, from a dark demon realm attire to a raven-blue robe.

It must be said, the latter’s fabric was more comfortable.

Sitting on Qi Zhuoyu’s shoulder, he felt his tail feathers were soft and relaxed.

He was so comfortable that he almost fell asleep on Qi Zhuoyu’s shoulder, even affectionately nuzzling Qi Zhuoyu’s cheek.

In a daze, he seemed to hear this fierce “father’s” cold and deep voice. “Quite high-maintenance indeed.”

****

Arriving in the mortal realm, the little phoenix was instantly attracted by the bustling and lively scene.

Originally sitting obediently on Qi Zhuoyu’s shoulder, he later became increasingly bold, directly flapping his wings and climbing onto his head. A male bird spreading his wings!

He was born very cute and adorable, and mortals probably had never seen such a beautiful spirit bird in this world.

In addition, Qi Zhuoyu had changed into a raven-blue robe, dressed like a leisurely young master of the mortal world. This combination of handsome young master and spirit bird instantly attracted most of the gazes on the street.

The little phoenix didn’t notice that he was already being watched by everyone.

His eyes fell on the street snacks, wanting everything he saw. Whenever he wanted something, he would flap on Qi Zhuoyu’s head, then start messing up his hair.

Qi Zhuoyu was irritated by his scratching and said coldly. “If you keep bothering me, I’ll throw you away.”

Little phoenix: “Chirp.”

Timid, scared, but wanting to eat, and still able to act up.

He tested the limits of death again, pecking Qi Zhuoyu’s head once.

“You’re a spirit bird, you can’t eat mortal food,” Qi Zhuoyu explained impatiently.

“Chirp chirp.” The voice was a bit weaker.

“That brown sugar flowing heart bun is even bigger than you, a bird. How could you eat it?” Qi Zhuoyu said irritably.

“Chirp chirp…” The voice was even weaker, pitiful and aggrieved.

He also patted Qi Zhuoyu’s eyes with his wings.

He probably wanted to pat Qi Zhuoyu’s head, but didn’t expect his wings to be quite large when spread out.

The meaning was that he couldn’t finish it himself.

But he could give it to “father” to eat.

Qi Zhuoyu: “…”

A quarter of an hour later, the little phoenix was happily eating a flowing heart bun bigger than himself on Qi Zhuoyu’s head.

Qi Zhuoyu said ominously: “If you dare to get brown sugar filling on this Venerable’s head, this Venerable will…”

The little phoenix pecked off a piece and offered it to Qi Zhuoyu.

“Chirp chirp chirp.” For you to eat.

Qi Zhuoyu pinched the bridge of his nose. “This Venerable doesn’t eat!”

Another quarter of an hour later, Qi Zhuoyu was eating the brown sugar bun that the little phoenix couldn’t finish, with a gloomy face and gritted teeth.

With this appearance, when he entered the Beast Taming Tower, the shopkeeper selling pet beasts inside was startled by his expression.

This customer entering didn’t look like he was here to buy a pet beast, but rather to demolish their shop.

As soon as Qi Zhuoyu entered, he didn’t bother with small talk and got straight to the point. “Do you have cages in your shop?”

The shopkeeper looked up and saw the little bird dozing off on Qi Zhuoyu’s head, immediately nodding. “Yes, we do. Please come in, sir.”

His Beast Taming Tower could be said to be the largest in the entire imperial city.

Whether it was food, drink, or toys related to pet beasts, his shop had the best, let alone a mere bird cage.

The shopkeeper couldn’t tell what breed the bird on Qi Zhuoyu’s head was.
