A Blank Slate Regression For The Idol That Lost His Original Intention

Lee Mo-yang, a casual fan of REVE, was contemplating as she looked at the link sent by her classmate, a hardcore fan of REVE who had introduced her to the group.

She had quit watching the first or second episode of Mydol Observation Camera – REVE Edition because she found it boring.

Her friend was excitedly saying it was really fun this time, but since they had said the same thing about episodes one and two, she wasn’t convinced.

After all, when you like an idol, even just looking at their face is entertaining.

So, it was safe to say her friend had lost all objectivity.

However, since she had some free time, Lee Mo-yang decided to give it a shot and tapped the link.

Unlike the other episodes that barely reached 100,000 views, this one had quite a high number.

“Is it really that interesting…?”

As she played the video, the first thing that appeared was REVE gathered around a café table.

[Meeting on the First Day of Mydol Observation Camera]

[-Let’s just go to the beach.]

[-Winter beaches are boring.]

[-Then should we go to the mountains?]

[-I still think the beach is better.]

The word “beach,” scribbled on a whiteboard, zoomed in closer and closer, and the scene transitioned to REVE playing around on the beach.

[-Catch me if you can!]

[-Do we really have to do this by ourselves?]

[-We’ve already doodled on the sand, dipped our feet in the water, and this is all that’s left to do, Do-bin hyung. We can’t just have the other guys looking all bored, strolling along the beach.]

[REVE having fun at the winter beach!]

“Wow, this is really boring.”

Where exactly were they having fun…? Watching them walk along the beach without even getting into the water was trying Lee Mo-yang’s patience and enthusiasm as a fan.

She exited the video and sent her honest thoughts about the 5-minute segment to her friend.

Her friend quickly replied in a panic.

[Oh please keep watching! That’s the most boring part, and it gets super fun after that!] 10:30 PM

[It’s like a fake-out! Ugh, it’s even better if you don’t know that going in!] 10:31 PM

[I’m telling you so you won’t quit watching.] 10:32 PM

Trusting her friend, Lee Mo-yang replied that she’d watch up to 10 minutes, and resumed the video.

About 30 seconds after the part where she had paused, REVE suddenly appeared to be moving in a car.

Wasn’t the content supposed to be about the beach…? Was it okay to wrap up the beach scenes in just five minutes?

Regardless of Lee Mo-yang’s confusion, the beach receded further into the distance.

There was a brief scene of them busily shopping at a market.

Sneaking their favorite foods into the cart while avoiding Ha-jun and Ye-hyun’s eyes, only to get caught, provided some light humor.

After driving up a mountain road, the car finally stopped in front of an old cabin, and the sky had already turned dark.

When Do-bin, who had received the key, swung the door wide open, something white suddenly flew at him.

[-Ahhh!]

[A mysterious figure suddenly appears!]

While Do-bin, nearly in tears, stood behind, Eden casually tapped a human-sized doll hanging from a rope.

The smeared eyes and mouth were creepy, but Eden looked completely unfazed.

[-What the, it’s just a doll.]

[-Can we go home? I already want to go back to the dorm…]

But led inside by the others, Do-bin, who had no choice but to enter the cabin, screamed loudly again at the ghostly pictures hanging on the walls.

[-We said we were going to the beach, not a haunted house!]

[Is that so?]

The screen rewound to the initial scene at the café meeting.

Do-bin raised his hand enthusiastically and made a suggestion.

[-How about a haunted house?]

[-A guy who’s scared of everything wants to go to a haunted house? I don’t want to be the one carrying you out if you faint.]

How-about-a-haunt-ed-house.

The audio replayed in slow motion, then the scene returned to the inside of the cabin.

[Mydol Observation Camera listens to even the smallest opinions!]

As Lee Mo-yang laughed at Do-bin’s misery brought on by his own suggestion, she received another message from her hardcore fan friend.

[If you didn’t stop watching, you’d be at the part where they enter the cabin by now] 10:42 PM

[There are two parts that look like a real ghost might have appeared] 10:43 PM

For Lee Mo-yang, who was into the occult and horror, this was the perfect content.

[15:23 and 21:01, those parts] 10:45 PM

Lee Mo-yang noted the times and resumed the video.

The REVE members began opening the spooky-decorated rooms one by one.

Opening a wardrobe only to get a forced hug from a ghost inside, casually lifting the blanket to find a blood-stained doll and collapsing on the floor—Do-bin’s reactions were the highlight.

Although overshadowed by Do-bin, Jae-hee’s reactions were just as noteworthy.

This was the moment the youngest line was officially confirmed as the resident scaredy-cats of REVE.

Trying to act unfazed, Ye-hyun glanced at a ghost photo on the ceiling, screamed, and ruined his attempt to stay composed.

Meanwhile, Eden and Ha-jun, known as the “same-age duo,” remained utterly calm, no matter what popped out.

It was clear neither of them were easily scared. Lee Mo-yang was impressed by Eden’s ASMR jokes.

The part at 15 minutes and 23 seconds was where Jae-hee and Do-bin entered their chosen room.

The shaman-themed room exuded an eerie atmosphere and terror, even through the screen.

Lee Mo-yang nearly screamed when she paused at 15:23.

The incense smoke on the screen formed a face that looked like it was screaming. It was too distinct to be a coincidence.

Quickly resuming the video, the smoke dissipated into the air as if it had never formed that shape, and the REVE members reappeared on screen.

[-It would feel more authentic if there was dust, like it had been abandoned for a while.]

[-It’s already scary enough as it is…]

Whether it was fortunate or not, REVE was too busy examining the shaman paintings on the walls and the mock sacrificial offerings on the altar to notice that moment.

Judging by Do-bin’s hyper-sensitivity to even the slightest noise, ignorance truly was bliss.

Had he seen that, he probably would have fainted.

Since everyone but Eden agreed they couldn’t sleep in the room, the REVE members brought blankets and pillows to the living room.

[-Hyung, I can’t go in there! I feel like I’ll get cursed if I do!]

[-There’s no shaman, so what curse?]

Thanks to Do-bin’s stubbornness, Eden went in and retrieved the bedding from the shaman-themed room.

Eden tried to start a ghost story, but the youngest line quickly shut him down. Ye-hyun, who had checked the windows, worried about being isolated, saying that his instincts were acting up.

[-It feels like a ghost might suddenly crawl out of the grandfather clock! Like, they’d squat by my bed and whisper the clock sound in my ear!]

[-You should be a horror movie writer. You’d win an Oscar, for sure.]

After a minor panic over the grandfather clock, everyone, exhausted, fell into a deep sleep.

With the sound of a music box lullaby playing in the background, a faint sobbing sound could be heard.

[A sobbing sound coming from somewhere?]

[But REVE still slept soundly…]

[-Aaaah!]

[-Aaaaagh!]

Two members shot up at the same time, screaming. Ye-hyun and Jae-hee, drenched in sweat, were wide awake.

Lee Mo-yang checked the 21-minute and 1-second mark her friend mentioned.

When she saw nothing, she sent a message, and her friend quickly replied.

[(MydolGhost.gif)] 11:21 PM

[When they screamed, that ghost picture frame started shaking on its own] 11:22 PM

Rewinding 10 seconds and rewatching, she saw that the frame did indeed shake on its own.

It wasn’t even in focus, as the camera was capturing the entire living room, making it hard to claim it was staged.

[-What? What’s going on?]

[-Did something happen?]

[-Eek, a mountain cabin killer? Ghost?]

[Members waking up one by one after hearing the screams!]

The remaining three members rubbed their eyes and slowly sat up.

[-I, uh… I had sleep paralysis, and this ghost with long hair in a red dress was choking me…]

[-Wait, what? You too?]

[-Hyung, you too?]

Ye-hyun and Jae-hee clung to their blankets, trembling, while Eden poured cold water on the situation.

[-That’s a typical imaginary ghost. Just a nightmare created by your imagination.]

[-But can two people have the same nightmare?]

[The atmosphere suddenly turned icy.]

Too scared to go back to sleep, the three kept watch while the same-age duo huddled back under their blankets.

Eden, pulling the blanket up to his chin again, was shaken awake by a teary-eyed Do-bin.

[-Hyung… I really think there’s a ghost… I’ve been hearing this sobbing sound all along…]

[-Oh, that’s obviously a recorder. We saw some installed in the rooms. Satisfied? Now, go to sleep, please.]

[-But what if it’s not a recorder? We don’t even know if the recorder is really here in this living room. I really won’t be able to sleep until I check it with my own eyes…]

[-Oh, my life…]

Groaning, Eden half-opened his eyes and got up to check.

“Eden really does indulge Do-bin,” Lee Mo-yang thought.

He really seemed to let his members have their way, as long as it wasn’t related to music.

[Thus began the search for the treasure (X) recorder (O)!]

[↙The recorder is this way]

An arrow and caption pointed under the sofa. The REVE members were searching everywhere else, completely oblivious to the obvious hiding spot.

[-These things are usually hidden behind picture frames. Oh, guess not.]

[-Maybe it’s in the fireplace? Ugh, so dusty…]

The three scaredy-cats were searching haphazardly in the dimly lit room, while the actual thorough search was left to the same-age duo.

But they never thought to check under the sofa, so the recorder remained undiscovered.

In the end, the search was abandoned, and REVE spent the night wide awake, the sobbing sound as their background music.

A time-lapse showed the sky outside the window gradually brightening, and it was finally morning.

[-I usually go for a morning workout… I guess I’ll just take a quick walk.]

Ye-hyun awkwardly spoke to the camera set up at the entrance and glanced back at the other members, who were sprawled on the blankets, now that daylight had finally broken.

[-It seems no one wants to join me.]

He slipped on his shoes carelessly and opened the front door, his expression turning grave immediately.

[-The door won’t open.]

[-What?]

[※Emergency Situation※]

[REVE trapped in the cabin due to a snowstorm!?]

The genre had suddenly shifted from horror to a survival-disaster movie.
