“Do you want a politically correct answer, or an honest one?”

I laughed heartily at the maknae’s question. This was exactly why I chose to ask him. Of course, another reason, roughly 40%, was simply because he was the one sitting next to me. Seo Yehyun, who usually looked at me skeptically, was unlikely to give a positive answer. Gyeon Hajun, on the other hand, had a way of speaking that avoided offending people, so I wouldn’t get the straightforward answer I wanted from him either. And Kim Dobin… forget it, not even worth mentioning.

“Be honest. I won’t get mad.”

“Well, I thought you seemed a bit crazy, but I figured you must have been really desperate to rely on fortune-telling.”

“And now that you know that wasn’t the case?”

Would this count as sowing discord and decrease my initial intention?

“Just a crazy guy not desperate?”

Contrary to my expectations, my initial intention didn’t decrease despite bracing myself for the impending discomfort.

“You said you wouldn’t get mad.”

Ryu Jaehee timidly added, perhaps misunderstanding my serious expression. I rubbed my temples, feeling a headache coming on, and grumbled.

“What’s the difference compared to when I insisted on pushing ‘One Chance’ as the follow-up song?”

“There’s a difference. Back then, you were a fascist dictator of REVE.”

Oh, so that’s how he thought of me.

As I rested my chin on my hand and stared at him intently, Ryu Jaehee scooted back and shouted.

“You said you wouldn’t get mad!”

“Did I say anything?”

I cleaned my ear with my pinky finger and waved my other hand, signaling him to continue. Ryu Jaehee scratched his cheek and, looking a bit embarrassed, continued.

“At least you’re trying to communicate now. And, ultimately, ‘One Chance’ did well as a follow-up song.”

So, that means…

“You’re saying as long as the outcome is good, it’s okay to be a dictator?”

Given the January comeback lineup, my results would soon become apparent, so could I push my opinions without worrying about sowing discord and decreasing my initial intention?

As I leaned back comfortably on the sofa with a smirk, I heard Ryu Jaehee sigh beside me.

“Sigh, this hyung still hasn’t come to his senses.”

Feeling his pitiful gaze, I scratched the back of my head and asked.

“…Is that not it?”

“Nope, wrong answer. Try thinking about it again and find the right one.”

Then why don’t you just tell me the correct answer? I have so many things to do; do I really have to figure this out too?

Grumbling, I checked the weekly quest list. Seeing the list, which was pretty much the same as the previous week, likely because it wasn’t during the promotion period, I started with the easiest search quest that would take the least amount of time.

Thanks to the significantly increased buzz after the ‘One Chance’ promotion, the search quests weren’t as easy as before.

Thinking back to the past when searching for information would yield nothing and I’d complete the quest in a minute, unsure whether to be happy or sad about it, I came across a rather lengthy post while skimming through internet articles.

[Entertainment Chat] Rookie Boy Group Catching My Eye Recently

Also known as the rookie boy group I’m currently obsessed with.

(REVE_OneChance_MusicCampEnding.jpg)

Yes, it’s the One Chance group that became famous for their addictive songs.

They’re a 5-member boy group under LnL Entertainment, called REVE. The fandom name is Daydream, affectionately shortened to Ilmong. But only one member in the group actually uses the nickname. They debuted on xx.08.08 with a mini-album containing “One Chance.” Below is a brief profile and TMI about the members. Since they’re rookies, there’s not much info, so I’ve gathered all the details and rumors I could find.

Listed by age!

1. Seo Yehyun

(OneChance_Waistline_Guy.jpg)

21 years old and the oldest in the group. His birthday is December 17th, and his profile height is 180cm. As you can see in the picture, he’s the visual of the group, though his singing and rapping skills are… well, at least he’s handsome. A rare combination of a flower boy and a deer-like appearance.

He sometimes makes up new choreography on stage but always looks at the leader for approval, haha. Though he’s older than Eden. He occasionally posts selfies on SNS, but he’s not good at taking pictures… but at least he’s handsome.

2. Gyeon Hajun

(OneChance_Ascetic19_Guy.jpg)

Born on January 3rd, but not an early year student, so he’s the same age as Yoon Eden, 20. His profile height is 182cm. He looks more like an actor than an idol but is probably the lead vocalist. His voice is amazing.

He takes good care of the members. According to the OA app, he’s the best cook, so he probably cooks for the team. He’s likely the mom of the group.

He doesn’t talk much on shows like radio broadcasts, so he seems quiet. He doesn’t interact much, but his fan service offline is great.

3. Yoon Eden

(OneChance_CockySmile_TearMole_Guy.jpg)

Born on August 1st, he’s also 20. His profile height is 180cm. He’s the leader and main rapper. His rapping is amazing, and his dancing is beautiful. He’s the writer and composer of REVE’s only song.

He came from the hip-hop underground before becoming a trainee. There’s a rumor he and Hajun were trainees at NewBorn together. He has a slightly intimidating look but becomes a cheerful guy when he smiles. Please smile more, Eden, so I can promote you…

He and the youngest are the main communicators in the team. His unique signature greeting is “After the rain, the earth hardens.” He posts pictures often, and unlike the hopeless selfie-taker Yehyun, Eden is a selfie master.

Hajun speaks formally to Yehyun, who is less than a month older, but Eden speaks informally. He’s a rank-breaker.

4. Kim Dobin

(OneChance_BangBang_Guy.jpg)

18 years old, a student in the practical dance department at 00 Arts High School. His major is urban dance. Born on May 26th, his profile height is 177cm, and he’s the main dancer. Looks like a golden retriever, haha.

He has a lot of jokes, but none of them are funny… sorry, Dobin… but REVE has Seo Yehyun, the originator of new choreography, who’s naturally funny.

He once thought Eden’s initial behavior was territorial and got scared. Even though the misunderstanding is cleared up, he still stiffens up around Eden.

5. Yoojee (Ryu Jaehee)

(OneChance_ModerationGuardian_Guy.jpg)

17 years old and the youngest in the group. Born on September 14th, his profile height is 175cm, making him the youngest and shortest in the team. He’s the only member using a stage name in REVE.

He’s the main vocalist. His high notes and vocal power are nearly unparalleled in the idol world. He was a trainee at one of the big three agencies, TK, and was mentioned a few times here. It’s curious why he left TK to debut at LnL… He and Eden are the main communicators in the team. He often uses a hamster emoji. It’s cute, so no complaints. His selfie skills are average, so he often takes photos with Eden. Good fan service on and offline!

He often clings to the members, but except for Hajun, they don’t really respond. Members, please show some love to our cute maknae.

If you’ve read this far, it means you’re already falling for REVE.

So, let’s become fans of REVE together.

Let’s be fans till the end, and whoever gets tired first loses.

Please take an interest in our boys and pray that the next album is as successful as “One Chance.” That’s all for now.

-Congratulations, you’ve successfully recruited me. They don’t seem to have many videos yet, so I’ll go watch them all.

└Start from the music shows on 0821, and don’t bother looking for anything before that. Reve doesn’t have any MVs.

-Seo Yehyun really has an unparalleled appearance. Who cares about his skills? In the idol world, looks are skills.

-OMG, I finally found the guy with the cocky smile! I couldn’t stop thinking about it and it was affecting my daily life.

-If the next MV is as bad as this one, I’m going to LnL with a bat.

-The youngest being so small among the older ones is really cute.

-There’s a rumor that Ryu Jaehee was kicked out of TK for assault.

└Any proof?

└Let’s not spread rumors without evidence.

└Uh? Some TK trainees who trained with Yoojee posted congratulations and support messages on Facebook. If he was really violent, wouldn’t they have cut ties?

-Is their only song “One Chance”? Wasn’t their debut song “Come to My Universe”?

└Nope, that’s a girl group song. REVE’s song is “Come to My Universe.”

└What’s “Come to My Universe”? We don’t have that song.

-This is clearly viral marketing.

└Stop calling it viral marketing in a fan post. Do you think this small company, that can’t even make decent MVs or post schedules, has the money and time for viral marketing? (NoUniverse_Yehyun.gif.) └OMG, is this the idol who shows how important hair and makeup are?

└Please don’t post gifs of non-existent MVs.

See, I told you the concept would be completely overturned.

Seo Yehyun, who was supposed to be the reliable older brother, was now seen as someone who nervously looked to his younger brother for approval. Kim Dobin, who was supposed to be the funny and entertaining member, was now a poor guy with unfunny jokes. Ryu Jaehee, who was supposed to be the loved youngest, was now a pitiable character who was ignored when seeking attention.

Only Gyeon Hajun, who had the caring mom concept, remained consistent and unwavering.

As I scrolled down, chuckling, Ryu Jaehee peeked over and recognized the text.

“Hyung, you found that too? Do you have any thoughts after reading it?”

“Where on earth do fans find you cute?”

“Not that. Don’t you feel sorry for the cute maknae who’s turned into someone ignored by everyone?”

“Good timing. Why don’t you give up on the cute maknae concept and try something new? Also, I’m more pitiful for having to watch your useless clinging.”

This was my last piece of advice for Ryu Jaehee, knowing how he would grow in the next three years.

Come to think of it, wasn’t the concept-setting quest until the next promotion? The quest was to choose a concept that fans wanted. Judging from this post, the fans saw me as…

‘…A rank-breaker?’

Unfortunately, there was no higher rank for me to break in the team, so that idea was dismissed.

“Hmm, what concept should I go for?”

“How about searching your name and picking the first suggestion?”

@kittyeden

@nori

Have you never seen a kitten in your life…?

“…They see me as a kitten.”

“Ugh…”

“I know it doesn’t suit me.”

Unable to adopt the kitten concept, I continued to ponder, while Ryu Jaehee threw out another suggestion.

“Then how about a twist image: someone who seems tough but is actually a pushover to his younger members?”

“Don’t project your wishful thinking onto me. What do the fans want, the fans, you little…”

“Ah! Ah! I’m sure fans don’t want an image of me getting beaten by the hyung…!”

Of course, his suggestion was no help at all.

Who needs such a twist? One rank-breaker in the team is enough, you brat.
